Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?

ok this morning before work i tried to use coach's as player face for many ex players that could be used in roster in last years of play. Guy like Byron Scott, Randy Brown, Pete Myers, Scott Skiles, Thunder Dan , Marc Jackson and etc . The only draw back it look like they are wearing neck lace made of small childern hand's around there neck. See pic's
Thunder Dan - early 90 suns / mid 90's heat fit

Marc Jackson - late 90 Pacers fit

    Byron Scott-late 90' Pacers/ Lakers

Scott Skiles early 90's magic fit

Also here Avery Johnson and Vinny Del Nergo

And here Mark Bryant, Mario Ellie and Pete Myers

The hand are only seen close up , during game play and normal game replys not seen much.

Well, at least, i remember, somebody posted for PC, there were multiple files, containing the same player's face; but different versions (black-armed and normal).
More to add, as i had said, black arms are stored as a texture inside each player's IFF file, so the only way to change their color for non-generic faces is to edit/replace those textures, nothing in common with roster-editing.
i keep look for 2nd of hidden player face and ask Jao.

I've lurked there for a while, and while the site is mostly for pc mods, 360 and ps3 users post there, too.

I remember someone pointing out the black arms problem, but I think--THINK--it was a problem for one of the pc mods. Might want to look around and see how they resolved it (if they did).
No worries i work over there too in the past with my old mods. I ll talk to some of the guys there to see what i can get.

I just hope that there is 2 sets for some of the players mainly the white and tan skin players.

But please let me know if you do get answer from you who spoke to there. I will keep going threw all the possible code. Lets hope they are there.

There is even a special dialog box (like in Photoshop or any other image editor) to select any of 16.7 million colors available...

Could that be used as a (semi) workaround for the arms? Putting the full length shoulder-to-hand arm sleeves on and rendering them whatever color is closest to the player's arms?

no it doesnt work that way... its there to pick custom color for gear based on uni not players.

hopefully you find a white player that wear goggles. He'd be great to use for the recreation of Kurt Rambis. Also did you find any faces of Kareem Abdul Jabbar?

How do you find player ID's? I'm trying to hex edit the colors of shoes to the actual team colors and not the horrible colors of the custom pallette. How should I go about finding players?

i think i stated this before you cant. you have to do it the way the chrome has metioned in his thread until the tool is released in july.... player id's are basically 1,2,3,4,5. id code 5 is allen iverson. Sorry.

i think you misunderstood, hes saying we could give the players with black arms the full arm sleeve that extends from the shoulder down to the wrist after coloring the accessory to match the players real skin tone, the hand would still be dark but maybe you could give them the hand wrap and then just the fingers would look funny.

those coaches on players bodies look pretty darn good! the little kid hands reaching through the uni and strangling them is probably only evident in close up shots and not even noticeable in a regular gameplay camera. have you tried putting any players faces on coach bodies?

might be because i put him on A.I. body. But he does have a big head look since his blad.

Michael Curry is in the middle and white hand s is what the play look like with code that doesnt correspond with anything in the game...

Side NOTE: For all the folks that stating they have seen crews with hidden players and guys like Ricky Rubio that have blk arms , but with black out arms. This what he look like in game.

Also been missing with height made him 10'4 ( as big of deal the T-Wolves think he be)
