There will be a section in the upcoming powerpoint called "Who's going back to school." There will be discussions on why these players decided to stay in school...hopefully that helps.

Welcome to the project! Once you get a chance to sample a few guys come back and give us some feedback we like to hear how everyone's associations are going with the draft classes.

Re: (XBox360) CWSapp757/Dreece NBA 2K13 Realistic Fictional Draft Classes

What's up everybody. I know that I have been MIA from the boards lately but I needed the time to get away from the forums and put all of my free time in to coming up with new and innovative ideas for the draft classes. I have spent a bunch of time getting ahead and talking to Dreece, Yellz and Swaggg about some ideas and we have some good stuff in store for everybody. Draft class 4 is of course in the works and is scheduled for a release later this week. Now that we got that out of the way, I wanted to talk about something else real quick.

I have been getting a lot of emails regarding the draft classes asking questions about them and why people should use them. One question really kind of made me feel the need to post this message up here. Someone asked me "How are these classes any different than what the game generates". Because there is such a big difference I figured I would take the time to specify why these classes are so beneficial if you are as in to your Association as I am.

                            1) When creating these classes, each player gets the same amount of attention. That means that the bottom of the barrel player will be just as detailed as the best player in the draft. There will be no point guards shooting like Yao Ming. No player that's an offensive specialist with a shot tendency of 20. No garbage centers with elite pull up animations. Every player is looked at and created based off of the skill set that he is given. The classes are intended to provide gamers with a simulation experience no matter who they draft.

                            2) Ratings are key when you are playing an Association. Therefore, if you continue to use draft classes with a ton of overrated players, your Association will begin to go haywire. These classes provide a wide array of different rating/potential combinations. Just because a player has a high overall does not mean that he will progress to be an all star. Just because a player is rated in the 50s does not mean that he will be a scrub forever. With 2Ks generated classes, you can often times look a player and easily tell which players have high potential and who does not. These classes make scouting a necessity.

                            3) Busts, gems and Specialty players. We all know that every player that gets drafted does not exactly match what he is projected to do in the NBA in real life. While the game makes it very difficult to create gems and busts, I have done my best to make it very difficult to just go in to a draft knowing who will be a star and who will be a nobody. In addition, there are players that are not elite talents that can be drafted in the later rounds that have a specialty skill. You might find a player who struggles in most areas but is an excellent three point shooter, on ball defender, post defender rebounder or whatever. You will not find that in generated draft classes.

                            4) Anyone that has been following the thread knows that Dreece has gone above and beyond to provide highlight footage for the players that you can draft in these draft classes. This gives you the opportunity to see the players and action and actually put your GM hat on and determine whether or not you want to spend a draft pick on these players. In addition, me, Dreece and Yellz have been talking and we have some big plans for ways to implement the videos in to the draft process. Stay tuned for that as it is coming very soon.

                            5) Last but not least is the scouting reports (my favorite thing about the drafts). The drafts themselves honestly do not take me to long to create (outside of the tendencies for each player). It is the scouting reports that create so much time in between each release. However, I truly feel that this is what sets the draft classes apart. First, the classes are connected, so it is an ongoing story each year. There are personal and basketball related storylines in each draft class and some of the info actually gives you insight on that players on the court ability and what you can expect. Using the scouting reports provided will also provide you with additional information that will give you a better idea of what that player can provide for your team and overall creates a much more fun and realistic experience for the player.

Ok, I don't want to talk you guys to death but I just felt that it was necessary to put this information out there. Once again, draft class four will be released later this week and be on the lookout for some other big things that we have planned. I have not forgot about the questions that I have been asked and I will be sure to get to those when I get home tonight. As always, I hope that you guys are enjoying and truly know the work and effort that is being put in to these classes. Peace!

Peace!

Glad to have you back buddy.
