Alright guys, so as I have been stating before, we have been really adding a lot more content via wordpress.com so that we can give personality to these players. Most of the blogs are related to the college basketball season that the future players are engaging in prior to the draft.However, me and Dreece plan on doing other random blogs that might give you insight on players or simply the opportunity to see how we feel about a particular player, draft class etc.

Today we are working on one (Dreece and Sapp discuss their three favorite draft classes). But before we finish I just wanted to ask the guys who have been using the classes:

What are your three favorite draft classes and why. And if you can, list your favorite two higher rated players and two favorite lower raated players. Hope to hear from some of you guys.

I guess I jump this off for you partner! One of my top three classes is DC6 I will get to why later.and one of my favorite lower rated players is PF Gerald Coleman from DC3. Simply put he is an absolute monster on defense he guards the 4 and 5 positions superbly well for a rookie. For a second round pick I'll take that all day long

For me it would be dc6 because of the star talent, DC1... I love Jeff Ingram's versatility, and dc3 I think... The one with Cross since he is the combo of dirk and Dwight after a year or 2.

Let's see...

I love DC1, because of the versatility. Lots of good wing and post players. I love DC3 for its star power, and DC4 because of all the unique players.

Favorite higher rated players:

I'm leaving out Bishop, Redd and Braithwaite because they're all dominant and obvious choices. So if I have to choose just two, I'll go with Kareem Packett (DC1) and Ahmad Harmon (DC4). I also want to give a shoutout to two other DC4 guys, Newly Cox and Nini Gibson.

Favorite lower rated players:

I'll go with one offensive and one defensive player here. For offense, it's Bryce "Bombs Away" Baker (DC5). For D, I'll go with Charles Valentine (DC6), plus his storyline is cool.

I would, he is a good 5-10 minutes off the bench and doesn't complain about his role on the team.

What kind of player is he? I need a little more depth at SF I'm running with the Suns, I have Beasley and Javon Smith (DC1) and I have both Morris brothers although I think I'm going to keep Marcus and let go of Markieff so it leaves me with one less PF, Ingram could play PF but I have Noel there too... hmm, I would have to think if I need another player like Ingram.

Plus I have Juan Santiago (DC1) as more or less a defensive specialist coming in for about 4 mins a game.

WHO IS... GLENN STEVENSON

After a blowout victory at Purdue, I saw many of the Ohio State players celebrating and dancing in the locker room. In his own isolated corner was Glenn Stevenson, flashing fake smiles as his teammates passed by and gave him high fives and made jokes. Without sounding like a stalker, I decided to watch him before talking to him. Stevenson was withdrawn. But I really do not know anything about this 18 year old kid from North Carolina before today. For all I know he could have been just having a bad day. But as I continued to watch, I knew theat there was more to it than just that. Stevenson continued to sit with headphones on his ears looking at the wall. He didn’t move, he just… stared at the wall. After several minutes of trying to analyze this kid I finally decided to go and introduce myself.

“How you doing Mr. Sapp” Stevenson quietly stated before I could speak while still staring at the wall. I had no idea that he even knew who I was.

He finally makes eye contact with me. In a split moment I decided that the questions that I had prepared were officially irrelevant. I folded up the paper with my question on it and calmly asked “What’s on your mind kid”.

“I just find it so interesting how so many people talk to you and act like they know you when they really have no idea who you are. People befriend and love serial killers, pedophiles, rapists… and have no idea. I couldn't do that” he said in a very calm tone.

I responded in an almost joking manner in an attempt to lighten the mood “But I know you love your teammates right”?

“Love em” he asked. “Love em? I just got here a few months ago Mr. Sapp. I enjoy playing ball with these guys but… I barely know them. They seem cool but to say I love them is a bit much ya know”.

At this point, I really realized that this was no longer a friendly simple interview. It was a meeting of the minds and I truly did not know where it would take us. “Well you’re here at Ohio State now, but where exactly are you coming from”.

“I come from pain. I know I don’t really show it but I’m really glad to be here at Ohio State. Maybe happy is the wrong word… I’m relieved to be here” he said.

Reading about this kid, all I really knew was that he was a quiet kid from North Carolina. Good grades and no trouble. He put up big numbers and quietly left high school as the 12th ranked prospect in the country. He then quietly committed to Ohio State. You know what… I keep using the word quiet when I talk about this guy. If life has taught me anything it’s that the quiet people are usually the most interesting ones. “What do you mean when you say you come from pain” I asked.

Stevenson looked at me before looking away and saying “What do you think is worse Mr. Sapp: being the victim of a tragic incident or learning to live life afterwards”.

Before I could gather my thoughts to come up with a clever enough way to shift the focus back to him he quickly stated “tonight we played great. I am impressed with how well the team played and we really seemed to show a chemistry I haven’t seen all year. I had my season high in points and I can feel that I am rising on Big Boards. And I bet you wonder what I think Mr. Sapp. Well currently I have myself ranked as the 11th best player in the country. If you include international players, I think I am the 18th best player. Some of those guys won’t declare so if I leave this year I will be a lottery pick. If I stay I can be a top five pick. I would tell you that it depends on whether or not I win a championship but I would be lying to you. It all just depends on how I feel when this season is over. I’m a realist Mr. Sapp. I fear a lot of things in life, but the truth is not one of those things. Did I answer all of your questions”?

I unfolded my original questions and to my surprise he answered just about all of them. Neither of us ended the “interview” but I just knew it was over at that point. I wasn’t sure what to take away from this kid but he intrigued me to say the least. As I walked out of the locker room, I bump into arguably the best center in the country Damien Banks. We speak and he asks me what I was doing there. I informed him that I had just finished talking with Glenn Stevenson.

“Lil Glenn!” he screamed. “That’s my man! I love that kid. That’s like my little brother”.

I gave him a fake smile similar to the one Glenn had given everyone else and responded “Yeah man. I bet”.

He has no idea though. None of them have any idea.
