The potential rating is pretty much concrete this year. If you give a guy 90 potential there are pretty much only to places that he will land.... he will either max out at 90 or one point lower but as Dreece stated they usually always reach that potential rating. The number will NEVER exceed that.
Also as Dreece stated, I have a very very in depth system in order to determine how I spread out different potential ratings amongst classes. I spread out the strength of classes but ultimately they average out to where I want them to be. I plan my classes in groups of 5 so when it would be hard for me to give you really good insight on how I would construct one class in regards to potential. If I had to make a suggestion, I would say make the class very average.
Of course these numbers arent exact but just off the top of my head I would sugges something in the area of
90+ potential - zero players
80+ potential - 1 to 4 players
70+ potential - 5 to 12 players
60+ potential - 25 to 40 players
50+ potential - 25 to 40 players
Just my suggestion if you definitely want to make a filler class.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Great, thanks for that. I'm gonna try to make one using these potentials with emphasis on making sure players don't have weird animations (guards with big moves). I'm sure I'll get frustrated with it or fatigued with making the players but it'll give me somethin to try before DC8 comes out.Comment

Another 2 days for animations. And if your not using RED MC tendencies usually take a day per position.
All in all each player we create takes at least 30-40 minutes to complete. Good luckSimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Is this your first time attempting to make a class? If so map out how your going to do it before you start editing. It usually takes Sapp like 4-5 days to make each class.

Yeah this has been my first attempt. So far i've touched every player over the past like 6 hours.. I'm unfamiliar with RED MC tendencies. I did a search on my own and it looks like an offline zip where I would have to convert it into the game itself? I have just been tweaking the tendencies on my own depending on the particular player. I noticed you have players on teams before the games (national championships, final 4's, etc.), is that your practice ground for players shots and animations? Or could I just simply look at the preview for the shot in on the editing page? I have been spending the past few hours just making sure guards dont have Shaq's shot and things like that.Comment

No I understand that, but do you use those teams to determine if sig animations work well for particular players? I figured the videos you show are the finished product I was wondering if those teams are used to see signature animations of players through exhibition gamesComment

Blindside Sits down With Chris Mitchell
February 8, 2023
The Tennessee State Tigers, or TSU as everybody knows them don’t often have a bright spark to talk about, but all this is about to change. Senior point man Chris Mitchell has brought massive levels of excitement to the school over the last four years. With the season fast ending most expect him to make the jump to the pro’s.
BlindSide: Mr Mitchell. You’ve made quite a name for yourself this year. We already have you as a potential Top 10 pick on our big board. Why haven’t we heard of you sooner?
Mitchell: *laughs nervously* I don’t even know how to answer that question. I’ve been here doing the same thing for the last four years, so maybe you can tell me why you haven’t heard of me?
BlindSide: Touché, you’re quick I can definitely say that about you. Have you ever considered being a comedian?
Mitchell: That’s a serious question right?
BlindSide: Of course, with nobody knowing just yet whether you will be declaring or not, why don’t we discuss your other options. That is unless you are going to tell us if you’ll be coming out in the draft?
Mitchell: A magician never reveals his secrets BlindSide, you must know that?
BlindSide: So you’re a magic comedian? Hell that’s one of a kind you don’t even need basketball. Take that to Vegas and you’d be living the high life.
Mitchell: You think? Well I’ve never considered it. All jokes aside though I hate Vegas. It’s far too fake for me.
BlindSide: Okay so maybe you won’t be living a high life with a comedy skit. But you could be with the game of basketball. I did some research before I came out here. You’ve had a pretty great season.
Mitchell: Well thanks buddy. To be honest with you I’m just out here doing my thing. We’ve never had many big names but that isn’t what we’re about. I’ve played on this team for four years and I’ve lead them for the last two. I come out and play my game and do what I can to help my teammates games also.
BlindSide: That’s pretty solid, for a guy who I would assume doesn’t like the limelight as such how do you think you’ll deal with the hype of the NBA?
Mitchell: It’s hard to say without being in the NBA. Sure we hear and read all about the antics and goings on throughout a season. But I won’t sit here and tell you that it won’t affect me. I’m not drawn to being the centre of attention. I come from a hard working family that just provides. I’m hoping to find the same in a team if I do move onto the draft.
BlindSide: I can see you definitely don’t want to reveal too much so I thank you for your time and hopefully we can do this again sometime, not in Vegas though right.
FEBRUARY NEWS FEED
February 9, 2023
Senior forward Mississippi Thornburg is one of the best players to step on campus since the legendary Whakil Blackshear. While Thornburg may not be nearly the player Whakil was, he is an equally good leader. “I still talk to Whakil on a regular basis” Thornburg said. “He is a big reason that I have had the type of success I have had here and he will be a big part of my transition to the NBA”. Mississippi is hoping to lead Temple to a tournament berth this year. He is currently ranked 55th on our Big Board.
February 12, 2023
Minnesota Junior forward Jesse Sparkman had a career high 42 points in an upset win over conference foe Illinois. Minnesota won the game 81 – 74.
February 14, 2023
USC Sophomore power forward Justin Day, who is averaging 17.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game has stated that he is “pretty certain” that he will be returning to school following this year. “I’m pretty certain that I will be coming back to school. After talking to my family and my coaches, we have all agreed that the best scenario would probably be for me to get one more year under my belt. I am not prepared to say that I am 100 percent… more like 80 percent”.
February 19, 2023
Texas freshman Derrick Long is finally playing up to expectations. Initially, fellow freshman big man Aaron Payne was receiving all of the praise as he came out of the gate hot. Payne has struggled somewhat as Texas hit the conference portion of the schedule but Long has been a completely different player. Long is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds in his last ten contest and is shooting up the Big Board.
February 22, 2023
With the Baylor Bears at 23 -3 and the Oklahoma State Cowboys at 26 – 0, I think it is safe to say that last night’s game was probably the most anticipated all year. After struggling without their big man and on the court leader, Baylor was more than happy to get Bart Witten back for this big game. The game was everything that we hoped it would be. Both teams came out the gate on fire but two major factors led to the surprising end result: 1) Late game struggles of Stewart Braxton and 2) The spectacular play of J.R. Williams. Braxton went 0 – 4 in the final five minutes and seemed to really have difficulty dealing with Witten towards the end of the game. Williams on the other hand, finished with 22 points, 11 assists and 3 steals. In a “put up or shut up” type situation, Williams had a Richard Sherman type of performance. After the 79 – 74 victory, Williams simply said “I hate to say I told you so but….”.
Blindside Sits Down with Malaki West
February 26, 2023
Every now and again there is one guy that shows up that I just have to track down. This year it was glaringly obvious. Illinois have one of those guys, Small Forward Maliki West. I didn’t even need a heads up on this one. As soon as I got the chance I was on the first flight to speak with the freshman star who recently announced he would be entering the NBA Draft next year.
BlindSide: Maliki, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m a huge fan of your game! This year has been incredible for you!
West: Man, thank you. It’s an absolute honor to have you here right now. I can’t even describe it.
BlindSide: Let’s start simple. I have the exclusive right now. So let’s tell everybody who Maliki West is.
West: Okay, um, well I’m a direct descendant of the Cahokia tribe who settled here in the 1600s or something crazy. I was born and raised in Chicago though. I actually started playing ball with my older brother while he was on house arrest actually. He got mixed up in some things while he was younger and he vowed to keep me away from all that.
BlindSide: Well that is quite honorable of him. So you guys would just play 1 on 1?
West: Yeah mostly. After he got off house arrest we would go down to the park and take part in some 2 on 2 tournaments. It was during one of those that I got scouted to come and play for Illinois.
BlindSide: Did your brother ever get jealous of that?
West: Not at all. Forreal. He has always kept that promise of keeping me away from the real dark side of life. He’s had my back the whole way through. We trained all summer before this year started. He’d get me up before dawn every day and we’d go running and then we’d hit the gym. He basically became my trainer I guess. Then as the year went on and I started getting this hype I asked him to represent me.
BlindSide: Represent you? As in you asked him to be your agent?
West: Absolutely. Essentially I owe everything to him on the basketball front. If it wasn’t for him getting me to play ball with him at home then we’d have never gotten to the tournament. Without that I wouldn’t be here at Illinois.
BlindSide: I have huge respect for that! So obviously it’s been a pretty whirlwind year for you. I’m not even going to ask whether you’ve thought about the draft yet. But if you were to someday make that jump where would you like to play?
West: Chicago. I don’t even have to think about it my family has been in this area for over 400 years. It would be an honor to pull on that jersey.
Blindside Presents.... The Victor Galvin Story
February 28, 2023
Usually we interview our prospects but when I met Victor Galvan. I knew that his was a story that he had to tell himself. So when we met I sat and listened so I could bring you the most honest, uncut version possible.
I grew up a pretty mixed kid from Richmond, VA. It’s going to sound redundant but I had a lot of tough times growing up. All my life I ate; breathed & slept basketball. My mother (Sasha) was an amazing basketball player at Richmond University. My father (Damon) didn’t play college ball but was a great high school basketball coach. He didn’t retire until my freshman year of high school.
I got lucky when it came to basketball. Having both parents thoroughly invested in the sport I learnt the fundamentals from a very young age. Everybody considered me a big man due to my size but thanks to my parents I had the ability to do it all. I learnt to shoot from anywhere on the floor, and also had my father constantly drill me on the importance of being able to get to the basket. I guess you could say that I was gifted at birth with athleticism, like crazy amounts of it. The bit that stunned everybody is my ability to handle the ball. I was always tall but having a coach as a father the fundamentals came before anything else, to put it simply I could dribble just as well as his guards. I actually once had a game where I dropped 34 points just from dribble penetration. People have a tough time dealing with a big man who can force his way to the basket to just throw it down on top of them. Then defensively my athleticism played a huge part allowing me to be able to guard any of the three forward spots.
My parents were essentially raising a superstar. It honestly got to the point where my ego just blew up and took over. Once I got the starting role at Varsity I thought I was untouchable. I was considered the best in the state of Virginia averaging 18ppg 12rpg 4apg 2bpg 1spg while still shooting 64% in my freshman year. After that, I turned into a real arrogant jackass. Things got to the point that my apg average dropped to 1apg. I didn’t care about the team; I didn’t care about coach or the school. I was winning and that’s what mattered. I got away with it too, simply because we were putting W’s on the board. Although over that period we never once managed to take the state title. That’s when people started getting sick of me. I’d lost my best friend due to my attitude and my mother wouldn’t even look at me the same.
To be honest with you I don’t know if that ever would have changed if it hadn’t of been for my parents passing away. The summer before my senior year, they were tragically killed in a car wreck and I just lost interest in everything. I was one of the best in the country and I threw it all away because I just didn’t care. Man I hit rock bottom everybody I use to have around me because of the wins disappeared. They didn’t want to know me once the L’s started piling up. I lost the starting spot and my numbers disappeared with it.
It took me a long while to get my head straight, I’d considered walking away for good. But my best friend Kayla came back around after the wreck. She sat me down and we talked it out. Everything. She helped me realize the gifts I had and what my parents had allowed me to become and said that to throw it away would be a waste of their life’s work. Kayla held nothing back, and for that I will be forever grateful. She came straight out and told me that the attitude had to go or else she’d leave again. I needed that, I needed somebody to finally stand up to me and set me straight. I got back in the gym daily. I got my old starting spot back and we played team ball. With that we finally won back to back championships.
When it came to choosing a college I’d always thought about getting away from VA. The memories hurt too much I wanted to start again. I was seriously leaning on Duke, I wanted to lead them to a championship team again. Towards the end of my senior year I’d learnt to deal with a lot of what happened and the thought of staying home had become quite real for me. I’d narrowed it down to Duke, VA Tech & Richmond. Truth is I didn’t want to escape. I wanted to stay for my parents. To give back to them for everything they’d done for me. After meeting with the schools I settled on Richmond. Mom played her ball here and the school said it would be an honor for me to play in the same halls. They even gave me her number to wear in tribute.
I got my game back, but I can honestly say I’m not as good as I was. I’ve grown up. Basketball is a team game and that is what I’m here to play. Will I ever be that superstar again? Who knows? I guess time will tell.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes
