Not sure if it's been discussed here because I've been checked out of here for awhile as I've become borderline obsessive with the whole job applications thing now that I graduated from college, but anyways...

Guys that control all 30 teams and use these draft classes:

How do you handle the draft? I've had five drafts so far, and for the first 3, I based the drafting solely on the PowerPoints so that there were more chances that certain players might slip through the cracks and end up being all-stars despite getting drafted 20th and stuff like that.

The last two drafts, I hired three scouts for every team, and am pretty much basing who they draft on what each team's scouts provide for me, and then I just make a decision off of that.

I'm curious to see how some of you handle it and how it's worked out for you because I'm not sure which method I prefer.

I use the latter of the two methods. Reasons being I want each individual team to have a wish list sorta when it comes to the draft, then I make my pick from there.

Also I take into account current roster productivity and team contracts. For instance if the team don't have any glaring needs I may go to each player with 1 year left and see what they think about their future. If they definitely say they testing free agency and an suitable position player is available I may snag him up.

What I don't like doing is leaving teams with a lot of 1st year players playing huge minutes. Unless of course they are of superstar caliber. Most of our guys come out with bad/low consistency and awareness so even though they may have a good overall, they still are going to be ROOKIES.

Anyway, as far as Association goes, I always control 30 teams. I use a method similar to you. One would think that because I come up with the potential for all three versions I would remember who is good and who isn't but it is WAY to many numbers for me to remember. What I do is use the powerpoint as well while taking need in to consideration. For example, while doing my Association testing, when Boston had the second pick in DC6, I picked center DeAndre White as opposed to Ayo Wilson because PG was not a need for them at the time. Doing it that way leads to a lot of bust and surprises in the future.

While the talk of the nation seems to be all about Christopher Bishop Jr. and understandably so but high school senior forward Scottie Tomlin from Seattle feels that he deserves some attention as well. “It’s not like he is Michael Jordan or anything. He is good but he might get to the league and be like Greg Oden. Let’s not crown him yet” Tomlin said when asked about Bishop. Tomlin scored 46 points and logged 17 boards in his last game. We hope to see a rivalry brewing between those two in the future.

Who is J.C. Graham. Well, he may just be the best freshman and quite possibly the best player in the country. The young Oklahoma Sooner point guard was one of the top recruits last year but did so in such a quiet fashion. Now that he has finally had the opportunity to step foot on the court, he has shown why he is a freak of nature. At 6’8, Graham is averaging 16.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists. The crazy part about it…. He is only getting better.

This really seems to be the year of the point guard for good or for bad. While you have top guys like Treyvon Dickerson, JC Graham and J.R. Williams playing spectacularly and making a name for themselves, others have struggled. Unfortunately for Cincinnati sophomore Elijah Bernard, his struggles have come off the court. In the off season, Bernard was disciplined by the team after driving a stolen car. Bernard got off rather easy only being suspended for the season opener but now he has more problems. Pictures have surfaced with Bernard doing illegal drugs at a party. Cincinnati has stated that they will deal with the issue internally. Expect to see Bernard miss more games very soon.

Virginia Tech center Montay Rider is finally playing like the player we thought he was. After having a decent sophomore season, Rider has performed much better this year. Last night Rider finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds against VCU. Rider says that he owes much of his improvement to his former teammates Wilbur Adams and Sebastian Rogers who have consistently attempted to talk him through his slump.

USC Junior Power Forward Justin Day finished with a career high 39 points in a 84 – 65 win against TSU last night. Day is currently averaging 20.8 points and 7.0 rebounds.

Every year we tend to focus on the schools like Duke, UNC and Kansas. Real basketball fans know however, that there are other places where very talented NBA prospects can be found. Below are my top three “mid major” studs.

An unnamed source close to the Oklahoma State basketball team says that defensive minded Shooting guard Rameek Toole “Will definitely be declaring for the draft after this season”. He is currently number 11 on my Big Board and a virtual lock to be at least a lottery pick.

Anybody who knows me and has been following me since I started working with Sapp and Dreece knows that I have an extreme love for wing players. Last year I spoke with hot prospect Malaki West. This season I managed to catch up with one of my other favorite small forwards, Utah Senior Quadry Bartlett. I have been following his game for his entire four years in college. We attempted to speak last year but Quadry let me know early on he wouldn’t be declaring for the draft. This year though, I was the first person he called to discuss his final year in college and prospective NBA career.<O></O>

BlindSide: I’m glad you could join me today my friend. How are things going?<O></O>

Bartlett: Very very well. My final year has already begun. I’m pretty excited to be real with you.

BlindSide: No doubt. So like you told me last year you wanted to make sure you graduated
before you ever considered moving towards the pros. Do you want to tell everybody else why you were so adamant?<O</O

Bartlett: Absolutely. I made a deal with my Grandfather many years ago when I first picked up a basketball. He’d done some work with the Jazz In the old days and told me that if I could keep steady grades then he’d teach me what he knew about the game. Then before he passed away we made another deal that my education would come first always. So here I am in my senior year, thinking that I wanna move onto the NBA and see what I can bring to the league.

BlindSide: And you would ultimately prefer the Jazz right?

Bartlett: Yeah there is no question. It would be an absolute honor to work for the same franchise that Pops already graced his prescence with. The man raised me so it would be like a homecoming for me in a way.

BlindSide: Have you actually come to the conclusion that you will be declaring when the season is over?<O</O

Bartlett: Not entirely my man. But I am strongly leaning towards it. It’s more likely that I will declare. I mean after four years it wouldn’t hurt to see how things go right I haven’t got anything to lose.

BlindSide: But everything to gain. Like I’ve been telling you for years now! This is your year to really show everybody what you can do. <O</O

Bartlett: Thanks bro. I appreciate that forreal.

Hey I'm new here, haven't posted before but I really like these draft classes they're amazing and I'd like to applaud you guys for your work (I only discovered these classes a few days ago, and I'm not done reading through the whole thread, but I'm glad I found it). I recently started a fantasy draft association because I was bored and I'm waiting for the next update from the trifecta rosters. I ended up with the clippers and the 4th overall pick and my roster was this:

I wanted to redshirt Noel, so to speak, and sit him all year for him to develop one more year, but he got very upset, so I ended up trading him, turiaf, and evans in the offseason for Alex Len, and the 7th overall pick. Then during the draft, I got offered from the Knicks the third pick, for the seventh pick, next years first round pick, and CJ watson. I accepted it because my eyes had been on Darius Player throughout the draft process. I then had the 3rd, 30th, and 57th picks in the draft and went ahead and drafted Player at 3 (I passed up on cameron even though he ended up sliding to 16 (yeah, ridiculous) because I had conley as my point guard of the future). Then at 30 I took Jarvis Woodson (performed well in workouts and I like his skillset as a backup point guard) to replace watson and be my backup PG. At the end of round two I was stuck between Marcus Collier (liked his size and strength, he's raw so I figured I could develop him, as a second round flier) and stretch four named Jorge Santiago, but since I had Len to develop I didn't need Collier so I took the stretch 4. I haven't finished the offseason but I'll tell how it goes with these guys soon.

Yeah I might still pick up Collier as a UDFA since he didn't get picked, I only have 5 bigs on my roster and two of those are channing frye and Santiago (and of course Davis isn't a huge guy either) so I could use a little extra muscle on my bench behind Splitter and Len (Len I think I can develop into a really nice center down the road). But with Frye's contract expiring after season two Jorge provides a cheap replacement for my pick and pop game once Frye is gone so I figured he was the better choice. Season 2's draft is gonna be tough with no first round pick, but hopefully I can find that diamond in the rough in round 2, I already have a few guys I really like that are projected second rounders.

Edit: Well, that's pretty sh*tty timing. Figures I discover the most immersive NBA 2k content I've ever seen, and then just days later my xbox breaks, which makes 6 broken xboxes since 2010, I believe. Looks like Im getting number 7 tomorrow. I'd go to PS3 for my last-gen stuff, but then I'd miss out on this. These draft classes are literally the only reason I'm forking over another cent to microsoft ever again after the bull I've put up with on my 360s. Glad I got a PS4, and I hope you guys go PS4 for next gen, or I might have to buy a One for these classes (and Halo and Titanfall, but that's about it, the PS4 in my opinion is the better console). I'll be putting that association on hold to say the least.

On a more realistic note, I'd love to see him at Duke (my go to team to root for in the tourney since UCF never makes it, they haveonly been to the big dance 4 times since we joined Division 1 and we've never made it past the first round) since that's a powerhouse school and he could bring another championship there, and that's far more likely then UCF.
