    Re: The Purist(s) NBA 2K11 Sliders (Post-Patch)

As always you're too kind with me. I'm good at pointing out things and give criticism, but not as good in making a slider set from scratch and publish for all to use.

Fortunately my madness is positive. I like to post here what I've done and what I've observed, but I play relaxed and enjoy the game, giving up on these points that can't be corrected.

I agree on your statement about the universality of sliders, but listen to this. If a roster maker gives all the touches of a team to its star, he maybe will shoot according to sliders, but he will shoot too much and always the same plays will be called to put him in position, that's what I mean. Same importance must be given to coach sliders. So important that even you, Greenie, decided to create your own set. So rosters can change things I think. Ahgin I'm not looking for rosters to win more, but just to have a better experience (visual experience too!).

Nice to hear from you G from time to time :-)

I agree with most of what you say, except the "me giving you too much credit" part. ;-)

I just see some people running in every direction (sometimes after a quarter of play) trying to "improve" their experience. In reality, they are only varying their experience. You can really achieve this in countless ways and temporarily call it "improvement" and ultimately call it "something that needs to be improved". In other words, it's insanity.

I haven't personally verified any roster set and I wouldn't even know where to begin when doing so, because the ratings/attributes/tendencies systems employed by 2k make very little sense. But, yeah, I think some things are instantly apparent and corrected-- like someone repeatedly shooting too often.

I'm always around, just stepped into the shadows to allow the wolves to tear each other apart.

That's a VERY good question. I think only 2K can really answer this. You have coaching tendencies which dictate how the game must be played, but then you have the same individual tendencies which give a character to a player. Would be very nice to know how they interact.

Oh Cesco, just a detail maybe without importance here, it's Not MY video..i've found it on youtube a long time ago, with the pre patch and pro level set, if I remember.

OT: for the first time I'm giving a try to the My Player mode. Created my alter ego and doing my best at the combine. I see sliders cannot be modified in this mode, you can only choose difficulty and SIM or DEFAULT slider mode. And also it's Shoot Stick Timing.

I'll continue my association too while waiting for the new roster to come out and maybe start a new association.

Cesco mate, I've been away on a holiday and just got home and came straight here (major withdrawls haha) I simmed though some pages and saw that you were making adjustments that directly affect the way I want to play coz I felt shooting was too easy, I was consistently getting like 50%+ with only a few low games and it should def be the other way around, and the directs the ridiculous high scoring I was always getting which I HATE lol.

I was just wondering if you could post ALL your numbers you have altered since you took over? (so to speak). As int he rebounding, shooting, hands, TO's expremients you did? It would be HUGELY appreciated as it seems you're after the same experience as me.

                Thanks

Hello Pabby and welcome back. I'll be glad to post my latest changes, even if I haven't tested them a lot. Now I'm at work and I'll be at home again in 7/8 hour. I'm waiting for the new rosters to see if it directly influences the shooting. If it does I will reset to the original slider set and test again.

By the way, I did great at the combine in My Player, scoring a triple double in my last game! I'm a SG with good scoring capabilities (have to work on defense though) and my last performance granted me the last spot on the 1st round! I got in the Wizards, and I'll have an hard time now at the camp with Arenas in the main spot. So far it's fun! I created my alter ego with my real features and measures. I'm 6.6 and in the NBA I can be no more than a guard :-)

Ok, here's what I've changed so far (Rashidi Rosters):

                    Close Shot Success: 47/46
                    Mid-Range Shot Success: 47/45
                    Pass Accuracy: 42/41
                    Hands: 80/78
                    Shooting Foul Frequency: 65/63

                    Free Throw Difficulty: 50

No big deal as you can see.

Lose a game vs Toronto with Boston 103-105...

Something like 40 Fta for both and 24 teams fouls for both...
9 block for me , 2 two for us.
Again the same problem with offensive rebound.

Every contact in paint is a foul.

                        1. Is there a way to make the game use Geebo's roster that I've DL'd (PS3) by default when I start a new season or do I need to load them every time I start a new season? This goes for loading Cesco's sliders as well.

                        2. If i want to customize Geebo's roster, is there a way to save it so the player I've altered is saved among the other changes Geebo made? Or do I need to change said player every time?

                        Thanks!

Load Geebo's rosters, set the sliders and start the season. From now on all the changes you'll make will save in the Season/Association file. So next time you'll just need to load the file and everything will be in there, no need to load anything else.

Just getting started with this game and had some questions on these sliders and recommended other files:

                            1) How do I make trades for other teams in association mode? Do I need to control all teams? Is there a way to turn this on and off? I don't want to mess with the other teams during association mode.

                            2) Where are the camera settings? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

                            3) The draft class and the lowered ratings of the NBA rosters, is it in line with how future classes will work and how the game will progress? Is it too easy for the first draft...aka are all of the "good college players" bound to be "good NBA players?"

                            Thanks!

Also, is the latest version of these on 2kshare? The one I found seems a bit older.

Will the final one on 2kshare, if it exists, have all settings including stuff like the coach settings, etc.?

I've read some of these pages. I have 2 questions.

1 I also am wondering if these are on 2k share for Xbox.

2 How difficult are these. I play with mkharsh pro sliders but severely juiced.
I have all my shooting at 48 or lower.
                                cpu inside close at 50.
                                mid range 54, 3pt 55.

I just got done slapping the Lakers with my improved clippers team by 20.
Then crushed the Clippers by 30 with the pacers.

I have some good games and lose 1 once in a blue moon. I am looking for more difficulty without going to hall of fame.
