like the gameplay other than the number of free throws. played 8 min quarters and each team shot 14 free throws. little too high i think

I don't think there's anything wrong with 14 free throws for each team. Actually that seems about perfect for 8 minute quarters, if not even a tad low (I wouldn't think 20 or 22 would be that bad).

after playing a few games i think the shooting sliders need to be adjusted. In most of my games I was shooting in the 30% range while the computer was shooting in the 50% range, mainly high 50's. In a couple of games I shot under 30% while the cpu shot over 60%. I also would like to see more turnovers and steals.

I was having the same issues. CPU was easily shooting over 50% while I struggled to hit 40%. If anything, it seems user defense needs to be bumped up instead of adjusting shooting. CPU was getting way too many easy uncontested shots.

                Guys...thanks for the feedback.

I'm not going to be providing any more slider adjustments after today. What you see on page 1 - post 1 will be my "final" set.

I ask that you make adjustments to fit your needs / playing style. These are about as "perfect" for me as they'll get.

Regarding the fouls and high cpu shooting %'s, I'm not having that problem. If anything I had to raise the user's commit fouls so the cpu will shoot MORE free throws against me. also, i've had ONE game in all i've played where the cpu shot 50% or more on me (51% to be exact). I'm not seeing it...

I think the base is solid...tweak to fit your needs. I think you'll find it's relatively simple to do - just note what you're seeing, but play out the WHOLE GAME and then (probably after 3 games) make your adjustments. You'll see trends by then.

                Thanks!

Free Throws: what I've discovered is that if I let each player go through his SHOOTING ROUTINE it's easier to make them. At 100, during back to back games I went 23-26 and 18-20. Let them do the routines and use the (360) blue "x" button to shoot them with.

Here is the table you need for NBA boxscores:

I must admit that I'm growing more frustrated with each passing game. I don't know...I live in slider hell and it's my personality type. I wish I could relax and just enjoy it as a game, but once again I just can't.

I've tried to ramp up the challenge, but in doing so I've played around 15 games in the last couple days and have won 2 of them.

And that's the problem with sliders...I understand that the game plays differently with them but is it REALLY needed? This game is reviewed by most without any slider tweaks and this is judged as the best basketball game ever so why tweak things? It should already be damn near perfect out the box. I really feel all the attribute changes people have made in roster sets should be the only necessary changes, that alone makes players play more like themselves, once you change player attributes plus sliders I think it throws everything off and we just keep tweaking things trying to find perfection when in reality we may be making things worse. I've been playing with default sliders with the exception of the foul sliders which I raised and the game plays just fine....only 2 things I can say are a problem at default are shooting %, and offensive rebounds.

Had a blast using these in my last 5 games. My only problems are I can never get a dunk. I shouldnt be charging the rim with people like Wade and Rose and Kobe and seeing them attempt a layup and drawing a foul with only Tony Parker against them on the fastbreak.

Ima try raising attempt dunks to 35.

try using 43-45. other slider guru's have tested this setting and they found out anything below 43 will result in just what you're saying. at 43 you start seeing guys who are suppose 2 dunk...dunk, and guys who aren't suppose to do more lay-ups. i changed it to 45 because i like seeing a lil more dunks than i was seeing at 43, but like i said thas my personal preference.

trust me though at 43 i think you will be happy with what you see.

Strange... When I hold down the left trigger when driving I get players who should dunk do so. Very early on the creation of sliders a lot of people were doing testing and we found that the magic number for the user to dunk is 34. Anything lower and they would just lay it in. Anything much higher and you got guys dunking that really shouldn't be and the game turns into a dunk fest (no fun).

I'm going to leave it as...adjust to your personal liking. That slider is perfect for me...

I made some changes to post 1 today...I've lost track of all of them, but plug in the numbers. I think the only thing I'm not happy with is:

                              1) foul sliders. I'm running with 67 and 73 for those numbers. When I went with 66 and 72 I wasn't seeing even 15 fouls per team in a game. Yet when that number is raised by one it seems to get a bit out of hand. That's why I lowered the contact shot sliders to 90 each and that seemed to help a LOT.

                              2) steals. still not totally happy with them, but i've toyed with some new settings so see what you think.

Left-trigger? Isn't that for advanced layups? You mean right-trigger....right?
