Re: the_future420's NBA 2k13 Pro Simulation Sliders (12 min quarters)

Played a 2nd game yesterday evening...Me(Nuggets) vs Nets

I don't have any stats since I quit in the 4th quarter After getting destroyed in the 2nd quarter (27-13 for the Nets), I've somehow managed to cut the lead to 10-12. The Nets answered by passes down the court (LeBron style) and getting a massive amount of off-boards. Gerald Wallace alone had 6 offensive rebounds and on the break, the CPU was faster than my whole team. Either way, I was pissed. Gonna try another game today.

Positive was the fact, that the CPU didn't stand around anymore. The ran plays, used picks and were overall more "innovative" about their offense.

Got whacked again...The Spurs destroyed me on the offensive board (6 in the first quarter), never missed a FT and just kept making fastbreak points. IMO, that's an issue that has to be adressed. I saw 3-4 fullcourt passes out of and inbounds-play and in addition, they pushed the ball almost everytime they had somewhat chance to. Even Splitter and Bonner dunked right in my face..

Has anyone else experienced those full-court-cherrypicking passes? It's really annoying cause you can't even see the player standing in your half of your court.....

I will say that the Spurs are a vary fast paced team and one of the highest scoring teams in the game, so maybe that had a part in it? Overall those stats look encouraging, specifically the FGAs for both teams (although I'm sure thats not what you want to hear after getting crushed :wink

Regarding the sliders and my observations as well as others, the CPU offensive boards are an issue, and they seem to rebound at a better rate than the Human, even with the slider at the same level for both sides, so I will be addressing that with the updated set.

The other big issue is controlling the Field goal attempts in the game. The two best ways to limit FGA are by having more fouls,(specifically shooting fouls since those shots dont count as attempts unless they go in) and increasing non-steal turnovers. So I'm attempting to do both with the next update as well.

I dont have any issues with off reb by cpu, box out and let ur teammate make a rebound... it feels so real - we actually have to play smart

Yeah, they are fast. But how often do they push the ball right after they inbound it or pass it down the whole court? I don't mind them playing fast, but I don mind it if the CPU just outruns me and I can't do anything about it.

I wouldn't try to increase the non-steal turnovers too much, because you might end up having 5-6 more weird turnovers like throwing a pass in the stands just a few feet away from the next teammate.

Things that I've done to lessen the amount of FG's taken by the CPU: Lower CPU O-Reb to 30 and HUM Pass Accuracy back to 50.

I'm definitely going back to 50 pass accuracy for HUM controlled players. I just had 13 turnovers with Goran Dragic against the Heat. Some of them were legit, but most were garbage. On one of them Beasley was standing about 4 feet away and unguarded. I tried to do an easy icon pass because I was running a play and Dragic threw it no where near Beasley and out of bounds. Dragic wasn't even pressured at all. The CPU just decided it was time for me to turn the ball over.

To deal with the high FGA's I'm just going to switch to 10 minute quarters. That'll give me more realistic numbers and my games will be 8 minutes shorter. Win-win.

definitely a good slider set to start with. just played 1 game.. 9 min quarters cuz 12 is too much for me.

the fg %'s are good (if I dont use sliders they are way too high for both teams)

these sliders definitely helped lessen the CPU's huge advantage on the off. boards. made it even for both sides.

                  free throws are good too.

I did punish the Pistons but then again.. it was the Pistons.

Thanks for the sliders. Do you see any charging calls with the slider on 100?

That's not really what people mean by the high FGA's. It's the CPU shooting a ratio of high FGA's to the HUM. Changing the quarter length won't fix that.

For those that are used to playing on All-Star and above, don't be afraid to give these a shot and see if they are for you.

The only thing that I see the would help FGA's is to lower Player Speed, not Game Speed. Game Speed effects the speed of everything, players, clock, ect. Some have said the Game Speed does not effect the clock, but it certainly does, put Game Speed at 100 and watch how fast the clock ticks, conversely at slower Game Speed the clock runs slower. Game Speed is essentially a universal time adjuster, so 50 should be the only Speed used for this.

The main problem we have is that Player Speed can only be adjusted on Association Mode. Why, why, why???

EDIT: Just did a quick test. 1 minute of gameplay with Game Speed @ 100 takes about 45 seconds in real time

Yesterday, Duncan pulled the chair / flopped on me twice while I was working the Post with Randolph. Haven't seen standard charge calls though.

I wouldn't recommend AS simply because it doesn't make the CPU play any smarter or better, it just gives them boosts. If you change to AS you will have to make adjustments in other areas of the game.

Figure out why the games you are playing aren't close, and make adjustments on that. Are you getting better? I know I am and have lowered the HUM shooting sliders, especially 3pt.
