Here is what absolutely blows my mind. I have been extremely dedicated to this game. I even pulled some strings and asked some important people on OS to help this game be known here. I even introduced Cat Daddy to this epic website. I got Danan to start posting here and even pushed them to add an in game message about these forums. I was able to get us our own sub-forum here. I battled with the best in the game and finally after a long hard battle and money spent I was able to have the best deck. My record is 67k with 925 losses so I have definitely put in my time, not just money to be the best. Many of the veteran players were getting banned from this site because of their own bad choices. We then decided to create Cat Daddy a fan page which was solely for the game. Danan never once said good job or acknowledged our existence. 2K sports has our back and thought it was a great idea. So now the fan page is up and running along side OS. Now this new update is released and now all the players who had decent decks, instantly over power my deck which took me forever to obtain in only a few hours. I am all about competition and making the game more enjoyable but you simply can't punish everyone who has played in the past rivals and won the rivals cards simply because you release V2 Rivals that maxes out at level 35 without being pro'ed. All I ask in return for everything we as a community did for this game is to adjust the past 6 rivals cards to level 35 and pro at 40. I absolutely loved this game and my passion was obvious. Keep in mind that Cat Daddy doesn't even have their own forums in their website. We as a community made this game what it is and if they push too hard we can end it just as easy. Peace out brothers!

Its a free to play game. Its not free to make the game and keep servers up. And NW is a company. So ofcourse they try to make money. They don't do this as a hobby. Most people tgat respect a company are fine with contributing sone money. When an artist I like co mes out with a cd I don't burn it off my comp, a go to the store and buy a cd so the artist gets paid. They have made the gane more enjoyable at the same time as them making money off it. So I have no problem buying a couple leg packs or some hotstreak because I enjoy the game they put out. They aren't greedy just can't do this for free.

I'm not saying they should do this for free. I never have. I know they need and agree they should make money. It's just the extent to which they have completely insulted past money spenders. I personally have never spent any money on this game because I really don't have any to give. Even I can see how they really shafted a lot of people though. But honestly this is why so many of these games fade away, eventually they alienate and piss off the majority of their players. I'm surprised 2k is so ok with how this went down. Guess its all about bottom line. Guess we can thank companies like EA for ruining games. They still make a ton of money yet are constantly rated as the worst company year after year.

Correct, but we were told the Rivals cards would always be the best in the game. All of our past effort to get the Rivals cards is now wasted. They need to make Rivals Pro leveled to 45 and leave the Playoff cards at 40 and updgarde the past rivals cards to level 45, or whatever the Rivals Pro cards are now.

If this was a brick and mortar or even a click and mortar type of business they at least offer guarantees that if you find a product and or service for cheaper within an X amount of days you can get the difference or exchange it for the new product. Man the free to play genre turned the business world upside down on its head.

It would be hilarious if right after the RC they released a card type that was higher than the new playoff cards

Lol I see why you would say that. But the reason I'm debating with all you is because I enjoy the game. And don't see all the fuss with the update. Twista and other vets have a chance at even better cards then what they have. Guys like me (roughly 2500 stats across) see the chance at upping my deck. But I assure you I don't work for CD and maybe I should reach out and tell them to write me a check lol. I simply am trying to defend a game that I enjoy to play.

Twista and other vets have a chance at even better cards then what they have. Guys like me (roughly 2500 stats across) see the chance at upping my deck. But I assure you I don't work for CD and maybe I should reach out and tell them to write me a check lol. I simply am trying to defend a game that I enjoy to play.

Every business is in it to make money... i stated that already and pretty much the same statement you made except for 1 part... them not being greedy and for that matter a good business.

They are greedy in the sense they hide the biggest change from everyone... no mention of playoff tiers at all. Playoff tiers is the biggest change in the patch and the reason it wasn't mentioned at all? Simple they lose profit it was mentioned. Anyone who bought Epics packs last week, wouldn'nt have bought it if it was mentioned. Those who spent a lot of money on HS during KD's RC event wouldn't have, etc... basically a lot of lost revenue.

Do other companies do this? Of course but successful companies will announce major changes in advance as good faith to their player base. This gives players a chance to adapt/prepare for the change before hand. On top of that, execution was horrible for this patch... android users are still having problems 24 hours after the patch went live. Basically improper testing was done... the crash problem should have been caught if ANY TESTING use case testing was done. Instead i suspect all CD did was unit test (i.e. make sure everyone can buy the new packs and the prices were right) before releasing the patch. The result is their android DLC pack is missing information so as soon as the server gets updated, the app crashes due to missing information.

Also don't let the timing fool you... this was released on the same day as RC for a reason. By releasing it on RC day, the hope is more focus will be on the RC that no one thinks about the patch and only looks at the surface level. That makes this a great patch as its now easier to get "rarer" cards FROM THE PAST. Like i said yesterday, with relativity, the better cards are now even harder to get than before. Also don't let the upgrades fool you, new legendary actually makes legendary pro almost as hard to get as before because even with increase drop rate, your odds of getting a Pro is now decreased due to the number of legendary increasing (and seriously who are some of those new legendary... many of those players i never even heard of!).

Also, the player vs stats ratio before wasn't great but at least it was somewhat acceptable. Now you have playoff tier including cards that probably shouldn't even be Epic yet they can beat MJ? That pisses off any basketball fan period. Also with this patch, you'll soon see Legendary 2.0, AS, or some new tier... why because those players should be better than the playoff players. Maybe call it All-NBA?

If you like this patch great but judging by the respond on twitter and on the 2 forums, you seem to be the minority and realistically one of the few still trying to defend the patch. Objectively, like i said yesterday, this patch is the right move for CD. The execution on the other hand was and still is horrible. You don't lie to your customer to get more sales... not if you want them to stay as your customer. There has been multiple examples of them (or NW to be exact) lying.

That last statement you made couldn't be more accurate. Ruined the "gaming" community forever. A stain so to speak. I echoed your sentiments in an above post how EA got this ball rolling.

I enjoy the game too, and my stats are about the same as you (1 Leg, 3 EpPro), but I think we just view this fundamentally different from each other. Everyone is upping their deck, and with season and RC rewards being even higher than before, the better players (and spenders) are upping their decks faster than us and creating a bigger gap, thus making it harder for us to win in seasons or RC.

Gawd...The foundation was there to be such a great card game. Epics Legends and Rares all made sense! But WTF is a Playoff tier and where does this end?

It ends when rate at which new players join the game drops off. I fully expect that to happen shortly after the NBA Finals, then I think we'll see the next new tier of cards come out for 1 last cash grab, then let the game coast until next year and then reset the catalog for 2015. Probably can still turn a profit with 2015, then probably done.
