Every business is in it to make money... i stated that already and pretty much the same statement you made except for 1 part... them not being greedy and for that matter a good business.

They are greedy in the sense they hide the biggest change from everyone... no mention of playoff tiers at all. Playoff tiers is the biggest change in the patch and the reason it wasn't mentioned at all? Simple they lose profit it was mentioned. Anyone who bought Epics packs last week, wouldn'nt have bought it if it was mentioned. Those who spent a lot of money on HS during KD's RC event wouldn't have, etc... basically a lot of lost revenue.

Do other companies do this? Of course but successful companies will announce major changes in advance as good faith to their player base. This gives players a chance to adapt/prepare for the change before hand. On top of that, execution was horrible for this patch... android users are still having problems 24 hours after the patch went live. Basically improper testing was done... the crash problem should have been caught if ANY TESTING use case testing was done. Instead i suspect all CD did was unit test (i.e. make sure everyone can buy the new packs and the prices were right) before releasing the patch. The result is their android DLC pack is missing information so as soon as the server gets updated, the app crashes due to missing information.

Also don't let the timing fool you... this was released on the same day as RC for a reason. By releasing it on RC day, the hope is more focus will be on the RC that no one thinks about the patch and only looks at the surface level. That makes this a great patch as its now easier to get "rarer" cards FROM THE PAST. Like i said yesterday, with relativity, the better cards are now even harder to get than before. Also don't let the upgrades fool you, new legendary actually makes legendary pro almost as hard to get as before because even with increase drop rate, your odds of getting a Pro is now decreased due to the number of legendary increasing (and seriously who are some of those new legendary... many of those players i never even heard of!).

Also, the player vs stats ratio before wasn't great but at least it was somewhat acceptable. Now you have playoff tier including cards that probably shouldn't even be Epic yet they can beat MJ? That pisses off any basketball fan period. Also with this patch, you'll soon see Legendary 2.0, AS, or some new tier... why because those players should be better than the playoff players. Maybe call it All-NBA?

If you like this patch great but judging by the respond on twitter and on the 2 forums, you seem to be the minority and realistically one of the few still trying to defend the patch. Objectively, like i said yesterday, this patch is the right move for CD. The execution on the other hand was and still is horrible. You don't lie to your customer to get more sales... not if you want them to stay as your customer. There has been multiple examples of them (or NW to be exact) lying.

I won't touch on all your points (and you make good ones) mainly because I'm on my galaxy and will probably get lost lol. I will say this. I don't think I'm in the minority on this. In the minority on this board yes. But I'm guessing most of the "causal players" (which I don't don't consider myself. Just got hip to this game late and in two months have played 12k games) don't contribute to the board. Os is probably 85% vets. Same with Twitter and ***********. All I'm saying is it seems I'm the voice of the majority that don't participate on these boards. I still personally think this is a good update for the vets in the future (if they decide to continue playing) and I hope you, Twista, and others continue to play.

Lol I see why you would say that. But the reason I'm debating with all you is because I enjoy the game. And don't see all the fuss with the update. Twista and other vets have a chance at even better cards then what they have. Guys like me (roughly 2500 stats across) see the chance at upping my deck. But I assure you I don't work for CD and maybe I should reach out and tell them to write me a check lol. I simply am trying to defend a game that I enjoy to play.

Summary of the difference is the patch favors CD more than the player base in the sense that:

New money > Old money (this is pretty standard for pay to win formula so you can't fault CD exactly... tho you can for the execution 'cause it was and still is badly handled)
Spender >> Non-spender (gap increases, spenders should always have an advantage but this patch gives the illusion of the gap decreasing when in fact its actually increasing)
New Reward < Old Reward (relative stand point, you lose .5 tier on RC rewards, season rewards are only on par as before with no chance of lower results getting higher rewards where as there was a chance before, remember now Epic = Rare, Legendary = Epic from before because there is a new top tier)

Basically only those who are not too competitive will find this patch great because if you just want to collect cards, this patch helps with collecting there is no doubt about that. If you really think your line-up is improving... it is but its improving vs no one but yourself. Its not improving at all relative to those spending money now (the gap is actually increasing).

Using a real life example, let say you were working and made $100/day. This patch gives you a raise to $10 a day BUT the patch also causes inflation so you need to spend $15 more a day... are you better off or worst off?

Now this new update is released and now all the players who had decent decks, instantly over power my deck which took me forever to obtain in only a few hours.

I'm not trying to be facetious, but are you just exaggerating here or is it even remotely the case? From my novice position, I don't understand how anyone would overpower your deck without at least A) not being far behind your deck to begin with and B) spending a hefty sum to procure new cards that trump yours.

So I'm serious here, is this already occurring, or am I completely missing something?

All I'm saying is someone is surely getting the Axe for this fubar strategy as I'm sure when ppl catch on what was done here there will be a mass exodus of players. I mean how long can casual players expect to play without competing. I'd never thought I'd see the day when you're sporting a Kobe, Jordan, Bill Russell, Durant, Duncan legendary deck and get beat out by mediocre 2014 playoff players the Hibberts, Boozers and Bradley Beals of the playoffs in 2014 ROFL

Funny thing is i'm not a vet and i'm still playing, just being objective and explaining their case. I actually played less time than you but more games (mostly because i won ~13k games in the last 2 RC and i pretty much started on the last day of the Pacer/Knicks RC).

The patch really doesn't affect me as much as them because
A) I haven't spent a dime on it
B) I haven't put in the same time/effort to get the RC they got (but i can see why they are angry)

As far as minority/majority, we'll see the results in the next few weeks (not this week due to "new shiny toys" model, where a lot of players will just see the new better cards and forget the relativity of the game... aka those who went out and bought playoff pros already). There are of course players spending a lot of money now so there is a clear spike in revenue for CD... question is rather or not this will last. With most of the big spenders on the forum (which also happens to be most of the big spenders in the game) stating they won't spend another dime, you expect over time they'll end up losing revenue due to this patch (unless changes are made).

Beals is actually a pretty good player who could become a star. After all OKC wanted to do a 1:1 trade for him with Harden (Wizards refused).

I think you're right about Beal but I think you're overlooking the point I tried to make he's just not on that level of players I mentioned before

But the point your missing is that if NW not done this and came out with cards that weren't better thsn the cards twista already had his arguement would be what's the point of playing anymore because he can't upgrade his deck. Thats what the appeal of the game is right? To upgrade your deck. Your thinking of past accomplishments, I'm thinking of future accomplishments. Guys like Twista should be rewarded with the best new cards in future events. He has the right to be mad about his hard work for past Rc's being obsolete. But should be happy he has something to play for in future RC's. Please tell me you understand my arguement. NW made the gane fun for the future for all levels of players.

Yes I agree I have no problem with them adding new cards no one here does. The problem is adding new cards that are described the same way, look the same way and are obtained the same way as the cards we already have and making those new cards better. All "rivals" cards should be the same. There should not be a version 1 and version 2.

Benitez are you going to play the tournament at all because seeing you play and all the other veteran such as you twista and ant125 and monarch420 keep me playing this crazy f**cked up app all I'm trying to say is that I love the competition yaw are now the only reason I play this game and twista please don't tell me you're retiring for good because seeing you play is another reason why I'm playing this crazy game and another reason I don't want you to retire having all these newcomers having a better team than you and I also enjoy yaw veterans fighting for the no.1 spot well if you and the other veterans is retire than I mine as retire to

I don't know yet. I'm leaning towards no at the moment because the point of grinding for these "special" cards is gone. Why should I grind now when in a couple weeks v3 will be out?

You have rivals card. Now you have v2 rivsls to push for* is what I meant
