And what constitutes being competitive? Is playing enough to get an epic pro not competitive now by default (2000 rank). Does being competitive only mean trying to get #1 or get top 25 or get top 50?

I agree that quick games are pretty damn boring. I think making fixed numbers is a bad idea. Chasing people (and a changing population as events goes on) is more interesting and probably better long run for most people than fixed point tiers. If it was fixed tiers I would expect points to be HIGH. Just like if you wanted fixed rate of epics I would raise the overall rate (as in you will average less expected value for your time). It's a savings account vs stocks. That being said I think they should be free to offer the *option* and that would probably appeal to both sides.
Ehh fck you Anchen lol. You need to get a little dumber man. Thought we came up with an idea we could bonsai and rather quickly too, but you're absolutely right about the kinks on constructing tiers. I agree with everything you said except for the topic on what it is to be "competitive". Yes, landing on any tier in itself is an accomplishment for a player and judging by all the posts people have been putting up pertaining to their current ranking, it's definitely competitive for them. But for most of the top 5-10(possibly even more), chasing the #1 spot IS the only tier they want to land on. For those aiming for that spot and reward, "competitive" means having an even playing field or at least being as close to even as possible. But the current Ebay approach gives time and effort a tremendous disadvantage over Hot Streak high rollers. That's why we feel like some form of balanced needs to be implemented. Cuz as of right now, at least to some of us, no this is not "competitive". It's a 7-day item listing.

Get ready for a lot of: does maxing out both cards then combining make a difference?

Hahaha! Nah man. Twista and many others here have jobs that demand more time out of them, kids, a WIFE(whereas most of us just have gf's, which is way less serious), etc, etc.. So the ability for them to buy hot streaks or packs or anything else, is a lot of help and imo fair. My point is just the same thing I've been echoing since the start of this rivals event and that's finding a balance. That's all.

I don't disagree about the #1 spot. It is problematic. The buying part specifically. But the playing part...that is up to each person to decide if they want that or not. However how many people realistically can shoot for the #1 spot? I understand you being one of them it obviously is an issue. I'm not in your position so I can't speak for anything really. To some degree I do think everyone needs to decide what they are grinding for though. Is it simply to improve your deck? Most people start getting that right now at the 2000 range with an epic pro. If it is not for others it might be the legendary or the rival card. Is it just to collect? I'm not sure collecting is supposed to be easy. It should be more realistic than it is now but it's a slippery slope to start giving away tons of cards with "easy".

I just wonder if a lot of people lose perspective in rivals once they start playing. All those quick games you played and seasons you struggled not improving and now you have a chance to. But it's so tempting to go up further. I want to get higher and higher. And then you burn out. If you look at the top 50 what do you see? The majority is players from this forum. Aren't most of us the ones driving up the grinding so high? Because you are interested in some fashion in the game?

Indeed, he has to answer to his wife if he spends some serious cash whereas I don't have to answer to my girlfriend if I spend money on a mobile game (which I haven't nor will I). It's much harder for married guys or those of us with jobs or things to do basically.

I understand what you ae talking bout because before the rivals thing i wanted to quit playing because i wasnt getting no cards and my stats was averaging 1700 for all stats.

But since the rivals i played this game more because it give me a chance to get my stats up and thats why im trying to stay in the top 50 but i will not spend money on a mobile game because thats not me(i did buy things on a console game before), But it is hard to stay in the top 50 lol

^^^Translation: we are all lunatics. lol. I agree. A lot of your questions just add more intangibles to figuring out a solution. Finding an answer is becoming more complicated than I already assumed. I'm starting to think this is the ugly dillema NWGD is tangled up in. For the most part, I'd like to believe that a majority of the players in the rivals event joined for the hopes of snagging something that would drastically improve their deck, although I might be suffering from a severe case of tunnel vision though since that is my reason.

Aaaalright, well back to the drawing board we go lol.
Do me a favor, Anchen. Next time you're zoning out by hoopin at the park or going for a run or hell if you're sending one down the sh!tter and a good idea pertaining to this topic comes to mind, please air it out here. NWGD will pay you generously for a solid solution. :P ...seriously though, please share lol...
