RC duration is 138 hours (5 days + 18 hours)
WayneMaker score was 60,000 (but could have been higher if needed). That means for someone not paying to get there, they'll need to more or less be getting 435 pt/hr (the entire time, no breaks, no sleep) and fact is WayneMaker probably could have hit over 80k if needed (he was well over 30k after 2 days). 80k would mean 580pt/hr... that's doable for some of the faster non-spenders (i have done over 600 some hours even and i haven't spent a dime on the app yet). But remember its not just a few hours, its 580 points the entire time. I.e. virtually impossible to win without spending.
Now take a look at season mode, protected season = you can win (the first few tiers like i explained and now won 5/5 likely winning 6/6 protected seasons). Once you get into 2000+, the odds of winning as season becomes very low as you have experienced (and many in the forums). My main hasn't won a season since my 3rd season and i have finished in the top 50 the last 4 RC (actually 2 top 10 and #11 in the recent RC) so its not like i have a horrible line-up (its good enough to get to 3 straight finals since the patch but likely will lose a 3rd straight time to a team 1000 points better than me across the board, i think mayo is on this board so congrats if he reads this). Funny thing is my last 3 finals, mayo is actually the closest opponent i have in the finals... other teams it was 2000+ differences (including a 7k+ truck).
The result is those that want to win season start buying packs = money for CD. Once you pass the winning threshold, odds of winning season increases and those that spent money before are more likely to spend again if they start losing again. So again decent revenue generated from this mode.
So any new mode would need to regenerate a decent amount of $ for CD for them to be interested and again be very hard to win without spending money. There might be reachable goals like Epic @ 20 wins, legendary @ say 50 wins, but top tier cards (i.e. playoff, mode card, etc) would be almost impossible for any non-spender to win or actually probably impossible to win without spending $100s (i.e. the 99->100 win game might be something along the lines of facing a team 2x as good as yours so you more or less need to stack the deck with all 1 stat card and wait till the game gives you that exact game).Comment

Hide the new game mode behind a one time pay wall. That seems more reasonable then the current lottery system that deters me from buying card packs. I could almost guarantee that I could purchase a pack right now and it would be either useless to my LU or a marginal upgrade, and I only have a 4k to 4.5k deck.
I would actually pay for this type of mode if I knew I could be rewarded, and knew roughly what the rewards were for winning X amount of games against tiered opponents.Comment

Hide the new game mode behind a one time pay wall. That seems more reasonable then the current lottery system that deters me from buying card packs. I could almost guarantee that I could purchase a pack right now and it would be either useless to my LU or a marginal upgrade, and I only have a 4k to 4.5k deck.
I would actually pay for this type of mode if I knew I could be rewarded, and knew roughly what the rewards were for winning X amount of games against tiered opponents.
If it's a one time paywall and it kills their other revenue that seems like a bad business decision. If they make it too bad nobody pays for it and you wasted some time developing it and possibly more time and money trying to make it profitable. Is there a perfect middle ground maybe but I'm not sure I would trust them or most people to find it.Comment

Not to mention, 1 time fee of say $5 or whatever isn't much when you have players like Twista, WayneMaker, etc who would drop $100s and even $1000s into the App to win. A few of those players would instantly be more profit than the entire player base for this app @ $5/pop. Again note the revenue is continuous so every time the rewards are updated (say like RC, the reward changes every 2 weeks), the same players will throw money to get the new rewards once again.Comment

I think you beat me in the last finals - congrats!. I assume you won a Kobe as that is now your MVP? I could of done with a SG but ended up with Vlade Divac x2. Not great considering I have a legendary pro Dwight (from RC), epic pro Al Horford and epic pro Willis Reed. Also I already had one Vlade Divac.
I am also in this next season. I don't think either of us is getting close to the finals this time....Comment

My first season played I trucked through cause my whole lineup pretty much went from commons and uncommon to rare pro by the 32 game and I never lost a game after that including playoffs

Well I finally did it!! With over 15k wins and 3200 losses I drafted my first legendary...I said when I did I could finally quit this game...we'll after what I pulled it makes quitting this game very easy...sick joke...very sick
