I agree with you on this. That's why they got owned by the Heat in 2012. The Spurs this year, almost last year, and the Mavs in 2011 (Other than Dirk going god mode in the Playoffs) showed how to beat the Heat, ball movement and good coaching, that's the two things OKC didn't do, it was always the same thing from them, give it to KD or RW and get out of the way, and all of that falls on Brooks not making the proper adjustments as the Series went on.

2012 finals was bad watching Perkins get destroyed. Well it's not a coincidence that the Spurs/Mavs have terrific coaches (Rick is top 3 imo). It's just painful to see a team so talented not being used to their full potential.

We chose Perkins over Harden...

Well back then they didn't have Adams, so they kind of needed Perkins, also Harden wanted a max contract.

It's not even that KD gets zero blame. There was one game that he missed a free throw and the Oklahoma City newspaper called him not clutch (I think during the Memphis series). There are way too many times where Westbrook can pass it to many players more open then him but decides to shoot anyway. Like someone said earlier 3-24 from 3 pt line. Why is one man taking 24 threes? J.R. Smith had like 18 in one game and I was shaking my head. During the WCF he missed a lot of open jumpers. KD had bad games but Westbrook had worse.

Yeah Idk he shoots so many 3s when he can get to the basket at will. I think he also shoots too much because KD is too passive/nice so he never says anything about the bad shots RW takes. It's weird that being nice is bad thing but it is in this case. He needs to assert himself as the alpha dog of the team

In hindsight, the Perkins/Green looks bad but at the time. It was a win for the Thunder but yeah even with Perkins you guys lost a dynasty

That's the main problem with KD in my opinion. He needs to learn to be more demanding like the other superstars he plays with. I do think that would cause some tension between them tho....

That's the main problem with KD in my opinion. He needs to learn to be more demanding like the other superstars he plays with. I do think that would cause some tension between them tho....

He needs to look at LeBron did in the off-season of 2011 and realize that he is the best player on the floor (except the Cavs). To affect the game by his terms and not let the game come to him

I always felt from the beginning perkins was overrated and Jeff green was underrated. The media made it sound like perkins was bill Russell and with him the thunder would be a dynasty. I liked Jeff greens versatility and upside and felt a big like perkins wasn't as hard to find as someone like Jeff green.

Nobody said Perkins with the Thunder would be dynasty, but Perkins with the Celtics was a terrific defender, back then he was one of the few C's that was capable of guarding Dwight Howard, but after the trade...Yikes.

I agree. If we can get rid of Perkins, and pick up a decent big with a good upside, say Nikola Vucevic I think we're looking golden.

Also, if we can switch out Caron with a really solid 2, say Wes Matthews, our starting 5 is one of the best in the league.

IMO, it's the best of every single world. We get to the basket in Russ and KD, have the outside shooting in Matthews and KD, the defense inside is just amazing, and the rebounding numbers could be 1st in the league.
