    Re: Season Discussion Thread

What I'd really like to see in the game is an option to "lock" your player card out of your collection so it can't be used in Season Matchmaking, therefore it doesn't count towards your top cards (it implies it cannot be swapped in, obviously).
The game mechanics punishes you for having one very good card in your line up. I was lucky to draft a legendary but when I entered a season with it I lost almost all my matches because a line-up of 1 legendary + 4 rare/uncommon pro players will almost always lose to a line-up of 5 epic/rare-pro players.

So I had to use the legendary card from my collection to train some other player to be competitive in the Season Mode. After that I won my first season because the team was balanced. Once again I noticed that players with legendaries as their MVPs were all grouping up at the bottom of the table.

    I hope I was clear

Yes I did. It is the only way to be able to play the Season Mode when the best cards you have are non-pro rares besides that legendary.

In the finals, you get 2 of the same rares so you'll get a rare pro every time. In the 3rd round you'll get 2 different rares.

Can anyone tell me why I won 3 games and lost 1, but it says I am 2-2? My 2nd game is a W, but it gave me the loss! Can I fix it?

Haha, and here I bet you were 11-0 thinking maybe you'd win this season and then BOOM, game 12 you hit a TRUCK. Sad day, man

Same guy ruined my last season forced me to tank, got two commons out go it.... Season has become a complete waste of time now simply because of "trucks" like this making it impossible to have a chance at winning.

I'm really excited because I'm a good 1,000 better than everyone else in my season so far. Maybe, just maybe, I'm the truck and will get my first Finals win. Maybe.

Also, I just got an idea... What if for winning the Finals of a season, we got an Epic but it's guaranteed to be from our favorite team? They could call it an Epic Team Pack (maybe they could even sell those for $10 or something). That way we'd have a better shot at something combinable. Just an idea, but it seems reasonable.

                        Re: Season Discussion Thread

There's no luck involved in season matchmaking as far "trucks" are concerned. As long as there there are players out there with the cards playing season mode you will ALWAYS be matched with them.

It took me a little longer than I'd like to admit but I finally cracked how everyone is matched when seasons are started. If your deck doesn't change, the strength of your matches won't change, and there will always be some players way above everyone else.

The reason is this: it doesn't matter who you set in your lineup or what your 15 best cards are. What matters is the top 15 cards that you have IF they were to be PRO AND MAXED.

So to put it simple, imagine you have 15 fully maxed out Pro Doc Rivers cards, and 15 "Level 0" NOT Pro Marc Gasol cards (terrible epic), and absolutely nothing else in your collection. Also, you don't train or combine the Marc Gasol's, you just leave them alone for the purpose of this example.

You decide to start a season, and of course you choose your 15 best cards, which are the 15 Doc Rivers'. You start a season thinking you have 15 copies of the best Pro Rare card, and you'll win the championship (just pretend that everyone else is using only point guards).

But soon enough you come across a dude with a completely stacked team, TRUCKED. And you're pissed, and it was a waste, blah blah blah.

What happened was, the matchmaker noticed your Marc Gasols', and instead of matching you with players that have roughly the same point totals as you (in your "best 15"), it matched you with a few players that have roughly the same point totals you WOULD HAVE HAD if your 15 Marc Gasols' were ALL leveled up to 25, then combined, and then leveled up to 30. In other words, 15 fully maxed PRO epic cards.

If you want the best team during the season, you need to make sure that you are playing your absolutely best possible team of 15 if ALL your cards were completely leveled up, combined to pro, and maxed out to full potential.

Anyway, I hope all that made sense. And you can take it or leave it, doesn't bother me, but that is exactly how the season matchmaking works. Which is why I'll start a season with 2,000s for each skill category in my lineup, with my 8 non-pro epics "taking the year off," and I'll run into 5-10 guys with anywhere between 3000 and 5000 for each category. Every. Single. Time.

Btw I've played like 10 seasons, and ever since my first win 2nd season I've watched closely as to how my card collection changed and who I was matched with.

                          Hate when this happens.
My players just seem to get cold feet when they enter the playoffs.
Must have warmed up quickly though because I'm in the Conference Final leading 2-0 on the way to a first season victory hopefully

The last 15 season matches I have lost. I get paired up with teams that have at least 500-1000 points per category better. It doesn't appear the pairing up is done accurately. Anyone know the specifications on how you get paired up in season mode with certain teams?

                            Thanks

ItsJustGame is right about how the season matchmaking is working. And yeah, it's ridiculous.
The game will be much more exciting and less frustrating if the season could be balanced...and players who don't spend money in cards can have a decent chance to get epic through season.
                                My 2 cents
