You can translate CDs statement pretty easy : pay 2 win or live with those rewards who won't improve your deck at all. Buy game nights, lose your way through the higher rewards and be happy if you get a reset in a lower tier as it could be a Pro.

    But hey, who are we

Okay, I've made some calculations during my meetings to get a better view on it. Depending on the deck strength (from Epic to Playoff++) you have to play between 200 and 960 games. Which causes some cost, depending on what you'd expect. If you want all cards, worst case scenario would be 15.000 credits, regular it will be around 5.000 to 8.000 credits if you want the Shaq card.

Using hot streaks makes it a bit affordable but here we talk about 200 - 600 credits savings.
The main idea is, to loose your way through the rewards and spend money on it.
With the nerf this is even more obvious. If you don't sleep longer than one hour a day, you can get 270 games, if you sleep regular (8 hours) those number will go down to 200.

Just to give you an idea, CD said, that if you want the Playoff card, you will need a Star++ deck and then you should be able to play +2.

Only 20 Star Pros ! The more I think about this game, the more stupid it gets

Lol good call but no unfortunately and my deck is very realistic if you put in some effort.

FYI I have played around 15,000. Skewed by RC games which would make up probably 7-8k of that total, if not more.

It is doable. The key is putting the effort into the RCs as early on they ramp your QG tier right up.

My first RC in Jan I got an epic and thought wow (I was in UR tier), next 2 RCs were leg pros then the third was a star. So if I only played 4 RCs and no games inbetween (4 weekends of play) I would have leg level QG deck. Not one hotstreak was used to finish top 925 either so it is defintely doable. Not one credit spent. Once you get into a QG tier like leg+ it was easy street.

The above ignores freebies for progressing, playing the 8,000+ other games leading to resets and drops. I sold all my epics and used proceeds to buy stars then won leg seasons 2-3 times and star seasons 3 times so far (there's 6 stars) sell some, dupe some.

All of this also ignores RttC where I have picked up a couple of stars (which I have traded) and PnP cards which aren't overally helpful but look cool.

In summary - my deck I think should be the norm for 3-4 months of you focus on RC EVENTS.

I enjoy RttC more but the rewards (other than the PO / great card which from the sounds of it I won't be able to get) don't offer too much but are good trading material.

Smartforce has also been playing a similar length of time as me and has a better lineup albeit he has dropped a bit of cash to speed things up.

No offense taken mate. I have kids, wife, job and a life. The key is focus, if you can play the RCs that is your ticket to a good deck.

A rare deck could place top 1000 in an RC and add a couple of stars to their lineup. Do it twice and within 3 weeks you have 4 stars in your QG lineup.

Less than a month, only playing on two weekends and 4 out of 5 of your QG are star level. You can't get easier progress than that man

I agree with nzjase. I built my team through RC until the star QG tier. My line-up that got into star QG was star Lowry, RC star VC, epic pro Waiters, leg pro Bosh and leg pro Jordan. Bosh was the only one that wasn't from an RC, and was my second leg reset (didn't spend long in leg tier). I pro'd him using credits I got from selling fully trained epic pros. RC was great when you're first starting out because it doesn't discriminate based on tier.

I agree with these 3 posts. If it wasn't for the RC there is no chance I would be in the tier I am in. I don't have it in me to grind for top 1000 so I will never get an RC card and that is fine for me. But I can easily get into the top 8K and get my legend card. I have done it for the past 3 RC's and plan to do it for the rest of the RC's. I will either sell the cards or keep them and use them as fodder or in my RTTC deck. I haven't spent much either but this a free 2 play game. And I plan to keep it that way. I only spent $20 on credits and use some of those credits to buy an All Star pack. But it's very easy to work your way up. Grind in RC and QG. You get resets yes they can take awhile to get. Also play seasons.

That team to just get one PO card highlights the farce that is RttC from a progression pov. I understand they wanted to fix the double quarter strat but I really don't know why they didn't lower the strength of the boss decks.

Requiring a deck like Dextros just to get a PO card is ridiculous. The reward will be about the 20th!! Yes 20th strongest card he has. How do you spell "waste of time"

I've got 1,000 credits coming in from my seasons reward which I'll chuck into HS and Game Nights at the very start of the event, then I'll just take my time. Hopefully grab the Rasheed Wallace and sell him for 5k and make up for the 1k credits.

I agree that now with fixed double matches it may be not worth grinding that much for that little improvement.
Also was hoping for RC this weekend, which is way better/rewarding for lower tier players (started 3 weeks ago so played in only 1)
Was going to spend ~500 credits to get a legendary, but with fix i doubt ill get there being only UR+ in RTTC (epic++ in QG)

Please, give us RC next weekend

Dang! If just for one PO card you need Star++ lineup, then this coming RTTC is useless.
Last time, to get Paul Pierce P&P, with my Star lineup, I could win maybe 60% of +5 games and 100% of +2 games. The x2 nerf made things more difficult

It's ok for me too. I can close the app and pick in my QG tier. Except the numbers of pick that we can save and the difficulty it's exactly the same.

I've been storing picks just fine by killing wifi at the draft board, wait 3 secs, choose a card and then turn it back on once you get the network error. Stored over 200 picks so far, in 50's of course.
