Re: NBA 2K16 PC Stuttering Collection Thread

Just FYI I seem to be running in game fine with a solid framerate, however I too am having the audio issues where the commentary goes off, no half-time sound, and the replays seem to be replaying boring in between moments rather than the actual bucket.

      Windows 10 preview build 10525
      i5 4790k @ 4ghz
      16 gig DDR3 ram
      GTX980

AA: I set to 2 (as opposed to 4)
VSync: I played a game with it on, and the cut scenes (half time, etc) seem to studder, but gameplay was okay. I have since turned it off and everything seems to be smooth.
      Playing with 2K Camera.

I am running flawless at 60 FPS, using the following settings:

        Dynamic V Sync: OFF
Depth of Field: OFF (Although I doubt DoF affects performance too much)
Super Sampling: 1 (SS is causing memory leaks from what I gathered.*)
Everything else is set at max

Note: When I run these settings Full-screen I get a steady 60 FPS however there is still stuttering. When these settings are ran on Windowed Full-screen still 60 FPS but no stuttering.

*Super Sampling seems to cause memory leaks, for example passing icons don't show.

2k camera works pretty fine for all. The stuttering problem is mostly on broadcast type cameras.

Looks like you all have beast rigs.

Anyways running amd a8 6600k, GTX 750 Ti SC, 8 GB DDR3 ram. I'm experiencing stuttering/frame drops its not like insane amount, but it still is slightly that it kinda is annoying to play. I wanna badly start a myGm but yeah the stuttering is preventing me

Dude this is great! Game is almost perfect for me now! And I couldn't get past the menu before (hadn't played it until today!).

                  Thanks!

Just as a reminder, although people have found a 'work-around' for the lack of optimization, 2K still needs to quickly put out a patch to allow PC players to play at normal settings. I made some of the changes suggested, but I still want my game to run same as last year.

Yeah just like in 2K15 it fixes most of the stuttering. My only issue is that shadowplay won't record now. Anybody knows a fix ?

                        - Full Screen setting is broken.

That said, for those that have stuttering and the fps are all over the place (I even had the game sped up at 100fps yesterday) the only way to make the game playable is the following:
                        1) Full Screen Window.
                        2) Vsync Off.
                        3) Special effects off except Color Correction.
                        4) Enviroment Map off.
                        5) Use a 3rd party software like D3DOverrider, Radeon Pro etc to force Vsync Always On for the application.

It's really bizarre that there's not QA for the pc version. Come on 2k, it would take just 2 weeks to QA the port with 5-6 testers.
Tried this and now works great! Thanks!!

I agree, especially since the system requirements are identical as 2k15

None of this stop me from getting a inconsistent fps. I got from 38-60fps

                            Specs:
                            Fx 8320 @ 3.8ghz
                            R9 290 4gb

I tried every trick in this thread and still and keep 60fps
Even tried all medium settings and im currently playing with special effects off. Still get 38-60fps. 2k15 was maxed at 60fps

Tried this out. Now i have a little better framerate, but the game still have lot of framerate drops... playable, but the micro-stuttering and droping framerate just sucks, but better than nothing.

one other problem i have: the audio is stuttering too in a match. or better said, sounds distorted every minute.

this game is full of technical-bugs, hoping for day-one-patch in next days. please 2K fix this problems fast !

The game has exactly the same issues as the latest Batman title. I'm afraid they won't be able to fix it soon. The problem is that this game needs stable 60fps to be played or else the animations become jerky. So even a drop at 55fps is very noticeable and ruins the experience.
