I kinda figured that about 2 years ago. If you wanna be cool here, you like anything 2K. If you like NBA Live go to www.nba-live.com.It's that simple. To be honest, I don't think it's on purpose. I don't think the mods are in the Live forums as much, so they may flat out miss some of the threads there you are talking about. If you see one that looks like flamebait, hit that little red flag that notifies the staff of a potential problem post/thread.

for a sim fan lookin for a sim bball game, live is a mistake, but for a fan lookin for some run and gun arcade action then live is fun...for me it's 2k6

Out of the box, that maybe true, but if people would have been patient and implemented Playmakers sliders, this game is no longer arcade and plays close to a sim.

I might be speculating, but I think people who rented Live , gave up on it out of the box. Out of the box, the sliders are set for the dunkfest and freewheeling moves.

I actually just found out about that site earlier this week. I finally registered and now I can actually talk to guy's who have an understanding of how to make the game better over there. Which is not the case over here. Every thread regarding Live get's ripped in half despite what it's about.

I'd rather spend extensive time working on games to make them play better then listen to guy's tell me the same flaws that the first guy mentioned. I don't have time listen to complaints because that's not going to solve the problem until the game is released the next year hopefully. I would prefer to speak about issues that can be fixed.

But the reason for this thread was to undertsand what makes it right and wrong when it comes to these two forums. Because it is very clear that LIve posters have to be very careful as to what they say and 2K's poster have more freedom of speech when you discuss issues with both games. So, I can see already once the Next Gen games hit I'll be better served to just discuss Live Next Gen at that site you posted if I want to be amongst guy's who want to make the gameplay better and not rip it at all cost.

ehhh... we all should know by now how the forums are at the beginning of each years release. things will subside and those that WANT to play and not bash, will continue to stick around.

almost everywhere you lookm, majority rules and that entails that its voices may be heard louder than everyone else... maybe you're digging too deep at the issue, because its more apparent, with the almost 2 to 1 user ratio visiting each forum.

I agree totally. First off, screw 2k sports. Their character models look f'n tarded. Plus, the ESPN fanboys who couldn't raise enough money from their bake sale to give them the exclusive license from the NFL are still sore. So they will try their hardest to diss madden, live or hell even the rugby series. If these meatheads could they would. My recommendation is put down the controller, stop playing football and basketball games, and concentrate your time on something you are truly good at....like not getting laid.

roadman that's my quote.....i performed my usual edits, and then i gave up on live because it was just to much editing and 2k6 was ready..... there are certain things to get from each title as my comment indicates, and as you cosigned...if you read everything else that i had said, you would have seen that i said i was looking for a game that i had to perform minimal edit on and this year it's 2k6....b4 calling me a fanboy,check my post history, i was here posting ideas and player edits on how to make live a better game since 2002, i have performed extensive edits for id, as well as 2k5, i am far from a fanboy. last year i played both games and couldn't find the right balance from either game so i went back to id with no problem.....this year i was all set to return to id 2004 until i learned that the id team was going to be working with vc on 2k6...well it was a gr8 marriage for both companies because for me 2k6 requires minimal edits, a slight bump down on the shooting sliders 10 clicks, a slight bump for fouls and a bump up in difficulty and that's it 1 minute of edits tops and it's been bball heaven..... now i can sit back and enjoy my bball game, without hours of editing, and wondering if those edits will hold up past a few games of play(like last year)

this is in no way a flame because i don't hate live, but as a fan looking for the closest thing to a sim in my mind it's 2k6 hands down.

my hats off to PLAYMAKER, i know how editing can be,this year i didn't see a need for it with 2k6 providing the experience i was looking for practicaly right out of the box.

I didnt lock the thread but the reason that the thread was locked was because the title of the thread only mentioned 2k6. It was a thread meant solely to bash the other title and not to start discussion about Live. If you look closely you will see that threads meant entirely to bash Live in the 2k6 forum are locked too.

As for bias, I dont see it. The past two years, Live recieved a higher score and better review than the 2k game. Playmakers, you seem to be a little to attached to the Live series and feel the need to defend it at every oppurtunity. Stop taking any percieved snub of Live personally.

As I stated in the other thread, it appears 2k6 is a great game and it's great we have 2 great games to choose from.

After using Playmakers sliders and plays, I don't feel Live is a mistake.

All it takes is 5 minutes to change the plays before tipoff. I know PM worked harder than that and his efforts are praised from me.

2k6 out of the box may be close to a sim, and that is great.

Noone is saying Live out of the box is a sim, but with patience and 5 minutes before gametime, it becomes a sim as well.

As I stated earlier, Live out of the box is NBA Jamish.

We can all enjoy our respective games.

I respect with what you have done with your quest to fix NBA LIVE 2006 so it could play a better game of ball. Can you please tell me what I did to cause you to create an entire thread dedicated to my post over at the 2K forum? I never bashed anyone and not even bash LIVE in the process. All I was doing was stating my opinion.

I understand why you are doing this. It is something that you feel the mods are doing wrong around here, then take it up with them.

If you continued to read the thread, the topic went toward how some of the old Inside Drive team is working as part of VC and that is why we have team tendancies. If I'm innocent here, I could only imagine what would have been said if I was flaming LIVE.

aholbert's post is my exact sentiment. The truth is there should be no 2k threads in this forum for the most part. There is a reason it was set up this way. Check the TOS about game wars.

Ok, I understand with the thread title.

I just didn't see anything inside the thread that would merit it being locked, but preventative medicine probably prevails.

I think Playmaker is trying to make an ok game great and he has brought a considerable amount of traffic here for Live.

Maybe he's defending the game because he's put alot of time and effort into bringing this game to reality with his sliders and gameplay and doesn't feel Live should be trashed as much.

I don't blame Playmaker, but there was nothing bashing LIVE in that thread. I spent over a month working on ESPN NFL2K5 rosters this past month that many people have enjoyed. I'm not going to get mad at others because they don't care for the game. I see that he spent all this time on LIVE06, but that doesn't mean that there might be a game that I like better imo.

Over at the Madden forums guys were gouching each others eyes out becuase of how disappointed they were that EA didn't do much to overly enhance the game.

Playmaker, would it have made sense for me to post that thread in the LIVE board? NO. I can see the war it would have started over here. That's not what I intended.
