I think everyone needs to just relax and enjoy the games regardless of which one your playing. To much is being made of this, enjoy the games and try and have some fun.

Exactly. And as a matter-of-fact, it IS a sim after PM sliders.

To be fair, Playmakers sliders and playcalling sets do a lot to help the enjoyment of Live. After playing on his set-up, I bought the game. I've only started with NBA 2k6 in the late stages of this week. As such I can't comment on the game in depth. From a standpoint of the animations, I think Live is well ahead of 2K6.

Where I think that 2K6 gets somewhat of a nod is in the way that it maintains competitiveness within games with fewer "cheap" elements. Some of the things that make me crazy about Live are those that you run into in the code that you know are there to replace actual Ai and that's where I think it takes a bit of a beating from pundits. Player velcro-ing, comeback Ai, the force-field thing add a layer of artificiality that hurt Live's perception, I think

But that being said, I don't see that in presentation that 2k6 is miles ahead of Live and I think in terms of the look, while I've never been crazy about EA proportional representations, I think that this year's Live does make strides to being the best looking version of the game in the series. In that, I think the basic look of the game is better than 2k6

I think EA would have been better served with a more sound implementation of their playbooks, but that being said, there is enough variety that with PM's work on documenting slider and playcalling tendencies that the sim elements of the game are enhanced. That you need to actively avoid using a feature to retain sim elements is also an irritant, but not everything in life is perfect, I guess

There are elements in each game that are done very well this year. There are elements in each that are in need of redress. I just don't know anymore that the current hardware can push the deficiencies in either game past where we as a public want them to be. Like I said, I need to spend more time with 2k6 to determine if the depth that I want is there. With Live it has obviously taken some time to develop a comfort level with what it can be and what it flat-out is.

That's my thoughts on it

I didnt lock the thread but the reason that the thread was locked was because the title of the thread only mentioned 2k6. It was a thread meant solely to bash the other title and not to start discussion about Live. If you look closely you will see that threads meant entirely to bash Live in the 2k6 forum are locked too.

As for bias, I dont see it. The past two years, Live recieved a higher score and better review than the 2k game. Playmakers, you seem to be a little to attached to the Live series and feel the need to defend it at every oppurtunity. Stop taking any percieved snub of Live personally.

I'm not taking and percieving anything personally. Your opinion/explanation is clearly wrong simply because that thread over on the 2K forums do start off with NBA Live titled as the topic.

Your the MOD go check it out for yourself and then explain why that thread is still active yet the thread over here was closed ASAP?

The point is just liek your quote to me I take and defend Live. Yet I bet that quoite wouldn't be directed at any guy on 2K's forums that defend or debate regarding that games playability.

I'm done with the matter but things on these boards are really shady and it's become quite apparent over the last 2 months in my opinion. So, I guess we'll have to disagree about what is percieved around here.

I'll say this again, Live is not a bad game. It seems like when you praise live, there are legions of people who are saying that you're crazy and whatnot. You can't deny that there is a huge bias towards EA all of a sudden. I mean, there are posters here who their sole pupose on this board is to is to bash every single little thing EA does. At some point, it gets rather annoying.

If your talking about the thread that I started, you need to read it again. In no way did I bash 2k. I was just pointing out that everyone over at 2k forum are acting like 2k is such a sim and live is not. So I was just asking if this is what is meant by a sim. So basically I was just trying to get people off of live's back and realize that 2k has some flaws to. I even stated that I have both games and never declared which one is the best. So I don't see how I was bashing any game.

I agree totally. First off, screw 2k sports. Their character models look f'n tarded. Plus, the ESPN fanboys who couldn't raise enough money from their bake sale to give them the exclusive license from the NFL are still sore. So they will try their hardest to diss madden, live or hell even the rugby series. If these meatheads could they would. My recommendation is put down the controller, stop playing football and basketball games, and concentrate your time on something you are truly good at....like not getting laid.

It's not that they bash the game because I've realized that Live is definelty a very good game once you spend time with it.

My post wasn't directed at 2K guy's bashing Live but more so directed as to why the two forums have seperate rules. Sure you can say well there is more traffic over there and it's hard to catch every post but it seems like every post on the Live forums are noticed and closely monitored to see if a comment or debate comes up regarding 2K's gameplay.

Yet if you go over to 2K's forums I see headlines just as clear as day with a red stop sign telling everyone how bad a game Live is and nothing is done. Maybe those guy's do a better job at manipulating the thread title but when you click inside the threads the agenda is quite clear. That's the problem I have with a MOD telling me those threads don't have Live posted on the forum. Look closer and you'll see no difference between thosee thread which are kept open as opposed to SIRJAM's thread that was closed today simply because of the title. Maybe he should have named th ethread something else and then proceeded to state his opinion regarding the two games.

But even then I believe that thread would have been observed closer and LOCKED the minute the words 2K appeared within the thread. There were two threads on the first 5 pages of the NBA2k forum that had the word "LIVE" in their title...and neither of them had a "red stop sign", and neither title labeled LIVE a bad game.

As for the NHL2k review, your claim is ridiculous. Please, don't make up lies to support your complaint.

The Mods here realize that, when locking a thread, they have to thoroughly explain why. In this case, KDRE was aware that he made a mistake. It happens. We're all human.
