Is the Live Demo enough to make you wanna buy it?

Live does look better but EA Sports had no choice but to improve a horrible game. Has their latest demo shown you enough to make you tak a chance on it? OR has it made you wanna give up on Live for good and permanently switch to 2K Basketball.

Really, the only thing that Live has always done better than 2K is the commentary. In the demo the graphics looked good, but the game isn't fluid (besides ball handling) and the player models are horrible! I didn't even see LBJ's jumpshot.

What do you think? Personally, I'm through with Live. It's time for them to wave that white flag people.

personally, i love the demo, and think the player models look better than 2k's. seeing EA's approach, they're finally listing to the consumers and made a game that can compete. just by them having those guys who won the 07 contest(god, how could they play that game in a tourney), and the other guy coming on here and talking to us, shows they're looking to put out a better product. yes, it may be a marketing thing but atleast they're putting forth a better effort. so to anwer your question, yes, i'll be owning LIVE this year, along with 2k8...

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

It actually changed my mind from wanting to buy it to not buy it and instead put that money for Halo 3.

As for right now, possibly, but in two weeks when the 2k demo comes out and we're all playing Halo.....no

I rented 07 last year and hated it and the demo this year has convinced me to buy it on 10/02. Live has always had better graphics and commentary. 2K has never screamed next gen to me, it' s always been glorified x box graphics.
Live's gameplay this year looks like it will be solid with a little tweaking of sliders here and there.

I'll still get 2k8 as well b/c I always have to have everything.

Same. Although I never went near Live 06 or Live 07 at all, I've been having a blast with Live 08 continually playing the demo and finding new things but as cocobee said, I'm getting both anyway.

The Demo is ok. However, if the full version has the same generic and awful signature shots and animations that's in the Demo, I will not be purchasing this game for several months. I'll just wait to get it used sometime next year.

So, I guess my answer is no. Although the Demo is good considering how bad this game has been on NextGen, it does not make me want to purchase the full version on Oct. 2nd.

I have a friend who played the demo (I don't have a next gen console) and he said that the game was boring and he's not even considering buying Live 08. He's gonna buy only 2K8 although it will be released here only in early 2008.

I agree with you on the commentary, but the player models are horrible and the flow of the game is off. The dunk/layup physics are awful.

If they had the same kinda of look and fluid movement of NBA Street Homecourt minus all of the NBA Jam stuff this would be a must buy!

                  Too bad....

i will get it to , but not soo sure about the problems with the demo will be gone by the final product, so i will hunt ebay for cheap new copy , i did that last year and got one for $17.00.

But will get 2k one it comes out if the demo is as good as the game usally is.

                      Not a chance.

2K all the way, as per.

The demo shows improvement, but as many people have stated, and I agree, there's just no kind of flow to the game. Animations are stiff and still jerky for the most part. The way the dunks are performed are just hilarious sometimes. More than a few times, Tony Parker spun off my man, went to the hole, and dunked with his left hand. The best thing I've seen in this game is when it loads up and the "EA HD" appears, and Gilbert Arenas does that dunking animation. If the game actually moved that smooth, it would be better. A lot of things in this demo are just off. Live 08 may still be a playable game when it comes out, but this demo doesn't leave me excited at all.

I've been doing some testing with the PS3 version and the 360. And thus far, the 360 version seems to play smoother? I can't put my finger on it but I will keep playing both. But I hate playing the 360 version because it always boots me out after 1 game..it's hard to test different speeds and slider sets. The PS3 version will be in deep sh!t if the final version has the slowdowns and jerkiness feeling to it. (I have not felt that in the 360 demo)

But I'm not sure what version I will get. I'm definitely getting 2K8 for the 360 since everyone in the league I play-have a 360.

so having the guys that could stand to play nba live 07 for a whole tourney come in and give input on the 08 game is REALLY a good idea? Think about that for a minute.

If they were able to play 07 like they did (faithfully..enough to go play in a tourney for it)...i dont think they are the ones u wanna ask for improvements.

lol! i hear ya. just EA has never gone this path and 08's demo has some great improvements overall despite the nip picking by some...
