That's what's wrong with today's SOFT society. People care too much what others think. Last time I checked, I'm the one paying nearly $65 per game...not the other "people." Fact is that I purchased and tried NBA 2K8.5 and I wasn't that impressed. I made the decision to not keep it and that was my choice. If you or someone else likes that game and feels otherwise....then that's YOUR opinion and YOUR money spent and it doesn't influence me and what I purchase.

    It's not rocket science.

I disagree with that. Todays society is actually quite the opposite of that. I care what people think and i'm far from soft. It depends on who it is though. I guarentee some of the strongest people you will ever meet are the people who actually do care. Ive been down both roads so I'd know. i care what people think and im always listening. I tried all 3 basketball games this year and i think they all have positive things going for them. Ultimately that will help me make better decisions in the future as well. The whole reason the economy is the way it is is because people are exactly as you are describing and extremely selfish and dont see the bigger picture. pretty soon you are living in a silo and the economy is **** with that way of thinking. that's bush's presidency in a nutshell. who cares what everyone thinks, i want to bomb iraq bceause im a crazy greedy bastard.

Re: NBA Live Patch 1.02 Discussion

I wish you guys would stop jumping on eachother and stop taking the topic off hand talking about eachother instead of the patch.

Last we heard there was an aritlce about it coming out next month, so who knows. We only have it from somebody's boo boo, which is the same thing that happened with XBL users when the demo was released.

We got the demo 3 weeks later

Now we have a question thread and a PM system with devs on this board. Ask them and stop ruining this thread with talk about 2k and all of that other crap.

                Warning

This is a patch discussion thread. Anymore talk about 2k and other off topic stuff is subject to the TOS and infractions will be handed out

                Off-Topic Posts
There are many forums available for posts, each with a specific focus. Off-topic posts will be moved to the proper forum, and further action may be taken against repeat offenders.
                Spam
Purposely spamming a message board with senseless, vacuous, or empty messages to increase your post count is highly frowned upon! This includes such things as party posts, chain letters and two-word "I agree" or "me too" responses. Continually posting the same topic on a particular board, and posting the same question across several boards is also considered spamming, and is a violation of this TOS.

                  Canadian socialism FTW!

Seriously though, the patch should be available to all (360/PS3) very soon.

At th3 risk of not wanting to read 15 pages of unnecessary banter...Have we received any details on some of the key areas that the Patch will address?

                      1. FG %'s I know must be an area they will address but does anyone know exactly how they will remedy the FG %'s being too high?

Also if there are any other known head 2 head/online fixes or improvements known to posters or EA devs please note the most important we should expect to see. Thanks

The patch for the PS3 was prematurely pushed live from Sony. They quickly pulled it, but we’re working on getting them to put it back up now that it’s out there (stay tuned on that one). The XBOX 360 patch should follow shortly, and we appreciate your patience!

We wanted to give you some details on what’s included in the patch. We listened to the community feedback very closely, and although we couldn’t get everything we wanted to in the patch due to size limitations (like beluba said earlier), we do think we’ve addressed some key issues.

                        * The reception of NCAA Basketball 09, from a gameplay perspective, has been really good. Part of the luxury of being on the same engine for our basketball franchises is that we can differentiate between the two, but through the patch process, we’re able to get some of the really good things that the NCAA Basketball 09 team did. We addressed a lot of the gameplay complaints that you guys had including tuning shooting percentages, both overall and in contact situations, so that you’ll have a more realistic shooting percentage outcome. We also made some quick strike ballhandling, analog passing (logic and receptions) and jostle improvements.

                        * The number one thing we were able to address was the responsiveness with block animations.

                        * We adjusted the skill level of OTP to All-Star, so with lowered shooting percentages and a higher skill level, you should have a much improved OTP experience. Speaking of OTP, you’re now able to see the “Scouting” tab to look at position leaders (not just the GMs). We bumped up the club search window to 60 seconds so that you’ll have a better opportunity to find a club to play against.

                        * You’re now also able to put headbands on NBA players, and the team color accessory bug has been fixed.

                        * Teams with alternate home jerseys are now wearing their HOME shoes instead of their away.

                        * There are other under the hood things included in the patch (like the autosave in FIBA mode now working) that we won’t go into, but we’re pretty confident that you’ll notice a difference in NBA LIVE 09.

                        Thanks for your support!

                        The NBA LIVE Dev Team

For the interest of any XBOX players, at approximately 2:20 am my NBA Live updated... I don't know if this is the official update from MS we've been waiting for, but I'm going to try to play at least a couple of games tonight and see if I notice any of the game changes that Steph mentioned before.

                            EDIT: 2:20 am Pacific Time

Re: NBA Live Patch 1.02 Discussion

Ok, this is some insight for all the XBOX players who might not have been completely sold on other posters reviews and for PS3 players who might want a little more reassurance following the "Sony Fiasco"...

I first went a head and reset all my sliders back to default and even played on the starter level...

I wanted to try to address the fast breaking issue that a lot of people had and so I thought I'd go ahead with a game against Golden State to see if they'd get out and run, and I chose to be Atlanta so I wouldn't blow them out the gym.

The very first thing I noticed has to be the quick response on the blocks! No slow gather... No jumping in the wrong direction... I even noticed different levels in height as someone with more momentum in there jump jumped higher that someone right in front of me. Very nice...

Next thing I noticed was the computers mentality to attack the rim. And not just drive in one direction and lay it in. The players are recognizing who to go against. I got Al Hordford on Corey Maggette and Maggette is just blowing past Horford off of two moves... Yep that's right, the computer is also using move variations. Crossovers to behind the backs. It's hell to guard I'm sure I'll find in harder difficulties but fun to watch as well...

I'm also noticing that because the computer is attacking the rim, now there's more opportunities for fouls to be called and more logical substitutions being made. One of the things I couldn't stand was going 8 mins. without a sub coming in cause all that meant was the whole freakin' second unit was gonna come in on the next break. Now, because I'm attacking and the computers attacking AND there's more contact at the rim, there's been a nice realistic pace to the game...

Again, this is all from the first quarter of play with two mediocre teams - no offense to Bay and ATL fans. Hopefully I can get another game in tonight with two better teams and on a harder difficulty.

Finally, Big Ups to Steph and Iminurbase for working as hard as you guys do and your patiences on the forums. If it hasn't been said before (and maybe not enough) great job guys and thanx.
