Uh oh, this is scaring me. You know we talked about this before. Just have two separate lobbies is how I feel. A ranked sim and a ranked arcade. I just gave Beluba my 59.99 too, oh no. lol

Either provide a different lobby with a different type of online game (sim/arcade) or just beat 2k to the punch, develop a sim online and offline and let the ones who want to cheese and play arcade buy 2k.

They don't have to do that. Why lose the sales? Just have two options and get both audiences. Don't have me playing with arcade clowns and if they do decide to "invade" my world have the game punish them for stupid game decisions and send them back to their NBA Jam mentality lobby.

hey beluba or stephen, I want to get this out and hopefully it has been addressed because in nba live 09 you guys messed it up. For Online Team Play, In nba live 09, any player[on the same team] who presses the pass button will force the inbounder to inbound the ball(this is really frustrating and annoying), so in nba live 10 will the inbounder be the only player who can inbound the ball? I know that in nba live 08 it was perfect, but for some reason you guys changed it up.

How do you think this will affect your sales?

I don't think catering the game to reward people for playing good basketball, and punishing people who cheese, will negatively impact sales at all. I think even cheesers will be happier if the gameplay is balanced on both ends of the floor. People cheese because they want to win at all costs. If we can create a situation where the path to winning is to play smart hoops, and people don't feel like they have to use a certain exploit to be successful, then it's a win win for everybody.

The best selling sports game is the most realistic most of the time so I think youll be fine as long as the game LOOKS good. Because thats what most casual gamers look at first .. and last sadly.

They might want to have an option to turn that on or off because supposed you get some jerk who just holds the ball and doesn't inbound at all. Now some clown is laughing while the rest of the people have to drop out because he's just sitting there not inbounding and turning it over.

2K just had it auto-inbound. That sucks because it takes control away from you, but for a Team-Up game where one person can randomly stop the action, that's probably the best solution. It would cause turnovers now and then but it was mostly pretty reliable. Better than Live's solution, which caused a TON of unnecessary turnovers.

If we can create a situation where the path to winning is to play smart hoops, and people don't feel like they have to use a certain exploit to be successful, then it's a win win for everybody.

Finally, a lead design guy for pro bball who feels this way. I don't want to offend your or any other developers previous efforts, but I've never felt like any Devo team has been totally committed to this design philosophy.

I apologize in advance for being part of the contingent who's expectations are going to be unreasonably high, and who will not be able to keep things in perspective.
