I will be picking up Live 10 on release day. The game is a huge improvement over Live 09, that's easy to see right off the bat.

There are still warts, still some bad leftover 09 stuff that you can see in the demo but overall I don't notice any glaring issues with the demo and the retail version should be even better. The demo is incredibly fun, I already played it more than any demo I've DLed in the past.

And these analogies around OS with cars and girls being compared to videogames has got to stop.

For the 2k fanboys that are proclaiming 2k to be the only true basketball game...... Stop kidding yourselves. There is some real competition this year. I will happily be getting both games on release day (actually before release day) just like last year.

Nah...unfortunately there are still too many nagging issues that frustrate me. mostly defensive issues (blocking animations), AI issues, and not enough in-air collisions between shot blocker and shooter.

I just don't think it's worth full price. Maybe I'll buy it at reduced price or used. They did a great job with the offense in this game...but defense and rebounding need the same level of polish as the offense. I want total control on defense...i want to control the direction I jump in and the force of the jump when I attempt blocks. I want to control the direction I lunge in when I attempt a steal. I want to be able to bump the ball-handler when I body him up. Just add more defensive control next year...and add WAAAAAAAAAAAAY more contextual collision animations so even minor bumps are visible. I want to see mid-air collisions between a shot blocker and a driver - if the offensive CPU drives into the paint and I jump into him, there should always be a collision - I don't want to see any slip-n-sliding and magical force fields which ignore collision.

You should also be able to commit a hard foul in the paint - if a guy is driving inside and you are out of position, you should be able to foul him and force a freethrow...maybe pressing the block button in combination with another button will do a "hard block" that will work like a hard foul.

Offball players and defensive players don't move with the same kind of explosiveness as when you are controlling the ball handler. I want to feel that same sort of explosive, responsive control in all aspects locomotion (not just when I have the ball)...you should be able to do explosive bursts of speed and quick changes of direction all based on the left stick movement.

No way is this game worth $60. I might ask for it for Christmas after I get a little bored playing 2K10 for nearly 3 straight months.

Early on I bought into the "hype" but reality set in after playing the demo. This game has so many flaws/holes (at least in the demo) that I was really disappointed with EA (and Czar) because they built it up to be this great basketball "SIM."

              Opinions vary I guess.

i will be getting Live10 for PS3 at a later date...not on release day since i will be getting three games that day...

                NBA2k10 360 and PC
Operation Flashpoint: DR for the PC

i d/l the demo for the PS3 i actually like the lighting better on the PS3...on the 360 they look like plastic men...like toy soldiers, so shiny looking...plus i gotta get something for the PS3 since its just collecting dust...

Yes, I will probably buy it on/before the official release date. I like the demo alot and it's basically the most realistic bball game I've played (focus on mid range shooting, no dunkfest, no super easy scoring in the post). I'll probably check out the 2K demo too, but to be honest I'm tired of 2K for now after playing it for 2 straight years. I hope we will get some reviews of the full games by guys who get it a lot earlier i.e. Czar.

Personally I'm more concerned defensively with how to get in position for blocks and contests. I like controlling big men and playing defense 1on1 in the post or coming over to help and I still have to get a feel for how to do it in Live.I get a decent amount of blocks, but when bringing over a help defender, I get very strange jumps at the ball. Even worse, the CPU help makes these same bad jumps. Pau turned his back to the offensive player and jumped towards the basket once, when helping on a layup attempt.

I'm not sure what problems people are having with rebounding though. I'm impressed with Live's rebounding right now. Each rebound looks clean and realistic unlike 2k9 where the rebounding is very sloppy and arcade-ish. I feel on the rebounds I don't get it's my fault for not establishing position. In 2k over the past few years it's almost as if position meant nothing.

On superstar the computer gets more offensive boards, but that's to be expected at the highest difficulty setting.I can't definitively say that the AI gets a lot of Orebs on Superstar. It's been up and down. I think the way you run your offense affects that particular dice roll. Howard gets his, as he should but I'm not seeing too much of other players getting an undue amout. Only had one game where it was out of hand.

I just suck on this cam I can't defend shots because I take the wrong angles 90% of the time. The game is really feelin like a gamefly then buy due to my issues w/ the camera now.

I really like playing it but the broadcast cam is just ruining my experience with it. I don't know what I'll do if I have a chance to get it early. I think I will most likely pull the trigger because I still do like the game.

Most of my issues seem camera related so if I can't get it early I'm going to gamefly it and see how I feel then.
In certain situations the Broadcast Camera really hurts. When there are a lot of players in the FT area, it's very difficult to see who is where, and maintain proper positioning. This wouldn't be as bad if the teammate AI had a bit more awareness. As a human player, I'd get stripped in a crowded situation. Part of it is my fault. I rarely press the steal button, and Live has a real steal mechanics. So that's an adjustment that has to be made, but it'll be much easier to switch to a 2k syle cam with these controls, and leave them set to Absolute.

You should get it for head to head play. I'm on the fence right now myself may waite until like November or December because that's when you can get it cheaper once guys start trading in games.

I also think we use that term SIM way too much....I'm just as guilty as the next guy when using it.

The fact is this game ain't no sim and I don't think the other game(s) are going to be a true SIM either. I guess the closest we can really get is to base it off of player animations and awareness on the floor. Right now there is not much awareness in Live 10 and the animations are improved but they were horrible to begin with so i'm not sure it should be commended for adding animations that should have been in the game 2-3 years ago.

I've only seen pictures of that other game and they are great the best i've seen to date. I thought the animations were flat out sick last year in the other game and really brought it to life more than anything else in the game. It didn't make the other game a true SIM because it had several flaws aswell.

Right now I'd probably lean towards the other game based on the animations already in that game and the recent pictures I've seen. But if they release a demo before the game hits and I start seeing crap i don't like or that i think might frustrate me more than what my frustrations are with Live 10 then I'll probably stick to the game that I feel more comfortable with year and year out.

So we shall see....I didn't vote still because I really on the fence. Every year prior to this year my mind would have already been made up. That was the FANBOYISM in me..........but not anymore.

I had to swallow my pride with Madden 07, 08 and 09. Jumped back on board completely after the AMAZING job they did this year IMO. Same thing with NCAA Basketball if it's not up to par after the 3rd season then I'll be sitting it out or take my ball elsewhere. The only problem with that is there is no elsewhere right now for college ball....

At Superstar I'm getting scores like 30-28. That's in only 8 minutes. It's way way way too easy to score. D is still not in the game.

The most annoying thing is that the CPU falling for a fake shot too often is back. Pump fake, about half the time if not more even defenders like Kobe jump. You run in for an easy dunk.
