Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
All-Star feels right to me right now even though I won my first two games on Superstar. I'll probably stick with All-Star and when I really get the game down adjust sliders to my liking from there to make it more difficult ( if necessary). One thing I fear about Superstar is when you actually have end of game, not end of quarter/half situations. Will the cpu go Robo Clutch and ruin the experience?Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
Played my first couple of games on SS last night and liked it. The CPU got a lot of offensive rebounds in the first game and I lost by 6.
Before the second game I lowered the CPU OffReb to 0 and I won 15-14.
None of it felt cheap or cheesy. That's the main thing I look for when I get to the highest levels. Are there CPU cheats? It doesn't seem like there are on SS.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
I just had a helluva game on Superstar.
Speed down 3
Foul sliders up 5
Besides two 3 point attempts by Gasol (CPU), this was a blast.
I won't rule out playing on Superstar now.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
I like the Superstar level. To me I dont feel cheated at all. If I get a breakaway fast break theirs still no CPU catch logic. I feel as though the CPU makes just as many mistakes as oppose to not making any mistakes at all. At one point I was able to crowd Fisher and body him up on the sideline to where his momentum took him out of bounds and he lost the ball. I didnt get that on All star. My CPU guys are more active as they try to play the passing lanes and get steals. D.Howard was blocking more shots for me on SS than allstar. More tipped put backs, illegal screens, overthrown passing. I mean I have been seeing everything on this level and I never felt cheated at all. I just noticed more intensity and hustle from both the CPU and my team as well. Its like wwe both got a boost. Ive been having a blast since I moved up to this level. Also a little harder to blow by defenders as well as they play tigher and are more aggressive. I saw Kobe be Kobe for the first time on this level as well. It was like they were down 10 with 4 mins left in the 4th quarter thats how aggressive he was. And they kept feeding him the rock as well. It was an amazing basketball video game experience. So yeah I would say Superstar all the way for me.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
I haven't played on superstar yet, but to me all-star is about perfect and i'm having some games where i dominate, others where i get killed, and others that are close, so I see no reason to switch the difficulty.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
Ha, glad I'm not the only one occasionally getting stomped by the on both All-Star and Superstar. Every now and then there are those games where you just can't buy a bucket even if you're open and the damn Magic (normally) are canning threes left and right, hitting contested layups, etc.. then other games I do the same to them. I've had a few games that were like 20-3 though -- should've taken a timeout or something haha. The AI REALLY punishes you for playing non-chalantly.. I fire it up sometimes and just want to do nothing but run around with Kobe seeing what moves I pull off and they just maul me unless he's supremely hot.
That last bit bodes well for the online experience for sure. I still haven't tried this game user vs. user yet -- how have everyone's experiences been playing against a friend? I heard mostly positive impressions... is it much easier to shake them with a quick dribble move thanks to the momentum and "eyes" arrow? The CPU on higher levels rarely gets shook badly, but I can imagine absolutely smoking another human trying to defend my mid-range game (and getting smoked myself).
Also, I know totally what Da_Czar was sayig about, "Did the AI seriously just do that to me???" They put together some crazy sequences that totally punish your stupid mistakes. I've had them throw some gorgeous alley-oops when I allowed the backdoor cut, run the break flawlessly, Jameer making me fall with a stepback jumper... just nasty. Love it when AI Kobe isos at the top of the key when the clock is running down too.. he just waits and waits and then attacks and you really have no clue what he's gonna do.. sometimes he'll just take the space and launch a deep 3, sometimes he'll drive hard then step back for the mid, sometimes he'll do several size-up dribbles and then take it to the rack.. very cool trying to anticipate that. The AI just feels really organic most of the game while still punishing you for bad mistakes as a good robot should ha.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
There are still weird things happening occasionally (like the glitch where the ball-handler just holds the ball if you don't go pressure them defensively and players like Bynum and Dwight taking a few strange jumpers), but I assume most of that should go away for the final and with DNA updates. But yeah, I've been really impressed with the AI on both ends of the floor... the defense is tough too. I think you'll be happy, but definitely play on All-Star or above.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
I have a feeling that after a week of this game, it'll be Superstar for me, unless the retail version feels different. People have mentioned a perceived higher AI IQ and effort level, and I'm feeling the same thing. I get close games on All Star, but I'm playing half in/half out, and the CPU can't beat me. Once you learn to stay in front of your man and close out on shooters, I don't think the AI can really score on All Star. I've gone in, experimented for a while, gone down by eight points and then decided "time to shut 'em down". Sure enough, tied it up before the half was over.
The only thing keeping the AI close on All Star before was not knowing the release points for the sig shots. Once you get thoe down, it's lights out, man.
Yanked Vince out of his SHOES on Superstar. I think on All Star, the CPu is generally going to fall for whatever you do, as long as it's within reason. On Superstar, you have to "deceive" the computer. Really get them going one way, then move the other. Knock down a few jumpers, then hit them with a pump fake. It's something else.
I'm pretty sure most of the guys on here will make the same adjustment. Especially once you start using Icon Player Lock Passing(ya'll gotta come up with a catchy title for that mechanic, lol). PLP really breaks down the D and allows you to control a zone of the court.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
yo stumble me and my bro play the demo quite a bit and it is beautiful user vs. user. He is a big kobe fan and right away he takes advantage of vince and do a damn good job of it. Sometimes i let the cpu guard him when he's kobe and he drives straight to the elbow and pull up. When i play him i play off a lil bit so he can't drive then he drains the three, if i play close he breaks me down w/ a crossover cause compared to kobe vince's foot speed is very slow. One time he broke vince down and drove the lane and did a fake behind the back pass which threw lewis off and had a easy layup. I never seen that before and it was NICE. We go back and forth as far a winning. I try to run my offense through dwight so he doubles alot then i kick it out for the three. OH by the way jameer nelson's mid range is BUTTER!!
For anyone else who haven't played user vs. user you NEED to b/c its very fun.Comment

Re: Demo: Superstar or All Star?
Born,
Also remeber the Lakers ARE the best team in the game, im not so sure it will be as easy playing half in/half out with say... the Milwuakee Bucks, or the Minnesota Twolves.
Personally I will be playing on All star in my franchise and then once the playoffs hit move up to superstar to replicate the intensity and higher level of play#SimnationComment
