Artest: How are you guys doing with him?

i feel like Ron's ball handle is a bit underrated in this game:
    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UYNZkqBxdy4&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UYNZkqBxdy4&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And I'm not getting a great handle on how to utilize his strength. Anyone having any success with his "bully-ball" style of penetration? I can hit jumpers with him, but haven't been able to tap into his game at all, as far as how he plays in real life.

And people were trying to say NBA players don't size up their man like in Live 10.

Back to your question though. I haven't really been able to utilize him at all. Except for open J's and sometimes the occasional drive, but he don't really feel like an impact player to me. Not on offense anyways.

I could bring in a whole bunch of other 'tube clips of Ronnie sizing people up, double crossing them and blowing by them. And this is in the last two years.

Point 1: I believe that the size up move is a highlight, and mapping it to a button means that it can, possibly, become a factor on every play. Which is not good.

Point 2: I'm sure a lot of NBA players have great handles, but, again, you have to separate the good ones from the 'sometimes' good ones or you end up with Shaq crossing people over.

That's why a lot of players have different size up animations. The big guys have no movement to their size ups what so ever.

Ron uses his handles to get to the basket regularly in the game. He obviously doesn't dribble as well as Kobe, but his combination of ball handling and strength make it extraordinarily hard to keep him out of the paint. He punished the Lakers with that throughout the playoffs. They actually spotlighted that and spoke about it in game 3 or 4, when they showed the Lakers doubling and collapsing. You look up any Artest mix, and it's mostly size ups, crossovers and defensive plays. So I don't know if you're comparing him to Shaq or what, but of the people with Ron's height and weight, Ron is at the top in terms of handling the rock.

He's not a "sometimes" ball handler. I've seen him catch the ball, put it behind the back, between the legs and recover to do an in-and-out all in one motion, on reaction to catching a loose ball.

I think I've shot over 25 J's with Artest and he hasn't hit a damn thing.

Re: Artest: How are you guys doing with him?

                The size-up move isn't exactly over-powered.

You can get stripped pretty easily if you over-do it, and it's definitely more effective overall to run plays, rather than go 1-on1 every trip down the court. As it should be.

Anyway, it would be nice to see strength be a factor on penetration, but that might be asking for too much at this point.

It's always hard to translate strength into a game. Ron has to be one of the most difficult players to create in a video game because he's out on the perimeter most of the time, not overly athletic or flashy but is so strong in his base (pause).

In the limited time I had with the Demo I tried to hit mid-range shots and spot-up 3s with him. I didn't try to drive too much with him.

The main reason why we cant play to his strength is b/c we can't post up when we want too and we're forced to just shoot j's with him.

Artest do like to back his man down and use his strength to get to the basket, but live having the auto post up really takes that part of his game away from us.

and yes you can post up when you want to. all yo do is ease into the defender once inside the 3point line
