Maybe it's because I'm still adjusting to Live, but is anyone else seeing a lot of points in the paint by the A.I.? Dudes are just getting past by me easily. Not feeling all the turnovers either. Too many interceptions.

When your playing D make sure you cut your man off when he's driving to the basket. You need to have body between the player and the basket at all times. Its sounds basic but is something people don't do.

And when a player drives follow him the whole way don't release the stick just because the animation kicked in. If you do what'll happen is the CPU will recognize the anim ended and then just keep moving.

Also when a guy comes in the paint and you put a body in front of him don't press Y (or triangle). Just let the guy run into you and the contact shot will kick in on its own.

Only use Y to defend jumpers and other stationary shots (e.g. hook shots, floaters etc.) because in the paint all it will do is cause you to jump straight up in the air.

I guarantee you if you play like this the CPU will score less in the paint. Just never give up on D until the shot has gone up and you have secured the board.

I haven't seen many fouls, but I have yet to adjust the sliders. If you ain't seeing enough, then bump the foul sliders.

Yea man I was having the same problem until I figured this out. Had my first 30 pt blowout on the cpu by playing D like this and using Czar's tips on shooting. I was the Magic and I was playing the Kings and I just couldn't be stopped.

Started up a Dynasty with the Nuggets and man, I think I finally got a handle on what I'm supposed to be doing in this game

I beat the Jazz in the opener, 85-83. Playing All-Star with 10-min. quarters. I had a lead throughout but the Jazz never let me get too far in front. Deron Williams is a beast, he went off for 35!!! Chauncey struggled staying in front of him and got abused on the pick-and-roll quite a bit. Luckily for me, 'Melo and JR were hot.

After trying to play this game like College Hoops 2k8 - and not being successful - I tweaked my playstyle and am now playing more true-to-life NBA style. Not a lot of passes; I'll call plays and those usually require 2-3 passes. After that it's up to my man to create space (if it's JR, Melo and maybe Chanuncey) or do work in the post (Nene and Melo) and that's where the points come from.

My first 5 games I think I averaged 20-plus turnovers easy. I was passing way too much and trying to force stuff that looked there, but wasn't. In this last game, I had 10 turnovers, so a big improvement.

Figuring out the release points for different players on their jumpers takes a while but I think I've got a handle on most of my guys for the Nuggets. Melo and JR have more of a quick release, while Chauncey has load up a bit and Nene also needs a little time to get a shot off.

This game is very addicting.

User the R1 button if your on the PS3, that helps keeps your player in from of the offensive player Czar spoke of this, I use it much, maybe more then I should but it works.

After playing both games last night and this morning, here are my takes.

Gameplay: Hands down Live. I feel as though I'm actually in the game. Its weird and addicting but there does seems to be a lack of fouls at least for the user. I played a 10 min quarter game against the Twolves (I was the Mavs) and the cpu went to line 22 times to my 4 and it wasn't like I wasn't driving the lane.

Presentation: Hands down 2K. In Live, the PA announcer doesn't even annouce the visititing player who scores. Ridiculous.. Here we are in 2009 on a next generation system and EA can't even program the PA announcer to annouce who scores for the visitor. Its mind boggling..

This is a rare game.

All-star default out of the box, no slider adjustments, and I can have a perfect 12-minute quarter game.
It's a shame this game doesn't have in-game saves, but it's almost worth leaving your 360 on to resume games (assuming you're willing to let your 360 blow up).

Anyone seeing many offensive rebounds by the CPU?

I have been solely using Utah at the moment...maybe they are just good at rebounding, but the CPU are basically getting none against me.

I have USER def rebounding at 0.
I have CPU offensive rebounding at 100.

Last night I played Detroit...who got NONE in the whole game.

I also played the Cavs...who got TWO for the whole game.

Is it just because I am using the Jazz and playing half court ball with a big front line? Are you guys seeing many offensive rebounds by the CPU?
