Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

Please please please please please please please please please please please please please add more animations.

After playing 2k even I think Live has the simulation style of bball down I just love 2k and tons of animations it offers. When I'm playing with a variety of teams you can really tell the difference and it really feels like I'm playing with those actual teams and players.

It's so refreshing, it's almost like your playing a different game every game. The subbing players in at the scorers table, subbed out players walking to the bench, the interaction with people on the sidelines and baselines. They pay so much attention to detail.

I just hope for Live 11 they add a ton of animations and there more fluid. Animations, animations, animations, animations. Differences in players, different styles, different dribble, dunk packages. Take it to the next gen level EA.

Hey I have a few more suggestions...back in the day when we had the generic BBall games...we used to have at the half in season where we could see highlights of other teams at the halftime shows..(those were pretty cool) I would love a half time show that would deal with what was exciting about the half and what the teams need to work on for the second half....

How about more face time with the commentators since their voices are in the game maybe instead of just crowd sequences you guys could sprinkle in the commentators periodically for a more person effect.

And for me personally I still think that game intros can be done alittle better, I liked that we could do shoot arounds in the competitions games are you guys able to do that in yours..would be cool, and please shorten the load times if possible, if feels like we have a long time to get a game started up.

I like the sweat in this years game but it doens't always look like the players uniforms are sweaty, and when players are tired it would be more believable if they reflected physically that they were tired...realism is key..guys

        WAY BETTER ALLEY-OOP DUNK ANIMATIONS.....

Right now they are all so dull...there needs to be some more spectacular alley-oop dunk animations i.e 2k10

have players actually dive in the crowd for loose balls, better alley opp animations, the alley opps looks kind of robotic, more dunk animations and signature dunks for just certain players. let lebron have his own set of dunks, also dwade and kobe. better commentary, better broadcast. take that espn license you guys have and put it to use. espn broadcasts, abc broadcasts, and tnt broadcasts.

Make the rebounding a lil more realistic. Dont let the ball hit the floor after a missed shot. Have players tip the ball out of bounds. I love the DNA feature but I also feel a shot selection feature should be added.

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

I think the contact animations need some heavy improvement. IMO next year EA should split the game up into 3 areas Speedy, Intelligent, and Strong.

These are 3 things EA could use to drive every animation next year.

For Strong guys you could have Lebron, Shaq, Billups.

For Speedy guys CP3, Amare Stoudamire

              Intelligent Kobe, Tim Duncan, Nash

With this system you would get rid of a lot of stupid things like Lebron being stopped on the break by little guards. Because his power game would be able to override that little guards intelligent/speedy game.

This would also make getting to the basket and defending w/ players feel different. In that playing w/ guys like Duncan you should see more fundamental moves used. Where as with a guy like CP3 moving w/ him is going to be all about using your speed to get by.

This would make users think about the players they are using more often. So if you have a player that is Strong you will have a better chance at playing more recklessly then the other two styles. But on the other hand you will be more susceptible to fouling other players too.

With intelligent players you will be able to attack in a multitude of ways making you a threat all the time. But b/c you can attack in so many different ways you can't just focus on one area all the time b/c you don't have all the athletic advantages a speedy/power player would have.

Then w/ a speedy player you would be able to keep constant pressure on the defense. But your weakness would be that you would need to always attack blind sides or openings.

This to me would open up the game a lot especially when it comes to contact in the paint. The system would be similar to Live 10 in its execution but now there would be 3 sets of animations driving the players. It would allow for strong guard vs speedy guard animations (AKA Billups vs CP3). And at the same time allowing for Strong forward vs speedy guard (aka LBJ vs Duhon)

please bring back the option to play 29,56,82 game seasons! I dont know who took this out but we need this added back! Me personally, i like playing 29 games seasons plus playoffs for many years. for my schedule 82 games would require me to simulate and thats not a prefernce of mine. it was taking out in 05'. please add it back for 11'

Re: Official Nba Live 11 Wish List

                  - Bring back the pro-hop button (with many, varied and better animations). Being able to link these moves with the amazing jumpshot animation and control would be sweet.

                  - Need a focus on the post moves and control. Need the ability to turnaround jumpshot to either side at will and good control of a bunch of hooks, runners and
'imperfect' close shots like Duncan and Howard use when they get stuck etc.

                  - Bring back the D button to man up AND add total defensive control back to the right stick. We don't need to use the right stick to steal. Up should be hands up pressure animations, down should be bodying up and left and right should be leaning to each side type pressure to force players one way.

                  - Commentary. There is a Cricket game by Codemasters on PS3 and 360 that has about 4 or 5 guys. Randomly they will mix and match these combinations when you play to keep the game sounding interesting. This would be a first and amazing in an NBA game. Take a look at the new 2K system which is great and an even better system in the old Japan only NBA Starting Five 2005 to get an idea of a great dynamic commentary system.

                    Some great points here guys.

As much as I love the shooting in 10 - the driving to the basket is bad because there are only 2 options:

                    1) you get to the rim - finish and score
                    2) you get into a full contact animation and miss

There need to be much more animations in between those two option with a little contact. Animation variety is the key in other areas as well. 2K still absolutely dominates in that area.

I also think that blocks look, sound and feel unrealistic. Sometimes you are going up for a block shot but your player doesnt go after the ball with his hand.

And we need some "wow" animations like dunking on people, put backs etc.

Ok so i finally got the game so here i go...

                        1. i love how the game looks in broadcast cam with the lighting and you know the colors.. but player skin textures need some reworking.. make it look less cartoon like and more realistic.

                        2. dunk animations seem to either go too slow or seem to not flow naturally i dont know what it is.. some of them are fine though...

                        3. way more variety in animations... in terms of
                        -Basic dribble moves (signature).
                        -Dunk animation (Signature)
-more spectacular alley oop animations (2ks has me flying..woo)
                        -Signature post maneuvers
-Have more signature player maneuvers..(like kobes lil turnaround leaner thing.)
-In fact just more signature animations..

                        4. The dunks seem so soft at times...especially alley oops... make them rim rattling... also when you add put back dunks make them spectacular...

                        5. Basically just improve on what you have this year.

                        6. I need to see some Contact dunk on animations( a lot of them too)

                        THIS GAME LACKS EMOTION

I think it would be really cool if you incorporate different camera angles depending on which arena you're playing at. Some of the arenas have different camera angles, some are lower, some are higher, some are closer, etc.

Just a thought. It would give each game you play some diversity.

One thing that bothers me a lot is the steal control. I know steals are a minor part of the game, but the steal animations are very limited to the point that it feels like a last-gen game.

Half the time when I hit the steal button, my player does nothing (not even a swiping animation). Also, there are no "lunging steal" animations - players just stand in place and swat their arm, but they make no attempt to "lunge" at the ball and try to grab it out of the air, they just kind of barely move their arm. I want the ability to fly into a passing lane and snatch the ball out of mid air (like Ariza did in the playoffs). As of now, I can only swat the ball and hope that my guy picks it up off the floor. The steal control is the most lacking aspect of the game in terms of player movement and control. It just does not feel responsive or natural at all and I feel like I can't do things that I should be able to do because the "standing swat" animations don't allow me to grab the ball when it's coming right at me.

another thing that bothers me are the layup and dunk animations. A lot of the layup animations are not right for the situation - many times my player does an overly-long and unnecessary double clutch layup rather than just going straight up for a quick layup. Many times because my player performs such a long layup animation, it exposes him and he gets blocked, when he could have done a quick layup under the hoop to avoid the defense. If a player is right under the hoop, the layup animation should be a simple quick layup rather than some drawn out, overly complex shot (like a double clutch).

Also, there are issues with how animations blend from receiving the ball blending into a layup or dunk animation. When players receive the ball while cutting, there is a pause and they kind of stop moving as they catch the pass. 2k's layup and dunk animations look so quick and smooth because they blend from catching passes to the layup animation seamlessly with no hitch or pause.

Many dunk animations just don't look natural and the player jumps too fast and the arc of the jump just doesn't look right.

Bring in a good chunk on nba talent and mo cap their sig dribbles and shot and plz don't forget the post players bring them in also.

Bring in 10 nba superstars and mo cap them playing a 5 on 5 game. IMO i think we wouldn't complain about the contact animations anymore b/c they would look and feel more natural and we would get some nice dunk on animations.

More pre game rituals and bring back the starting lineup. (it used to be in on the old live. cant remember which on though.)

Rework the whole steal system. We should have a variety of steal animations depending on the position of the offensive player. We should also be able to jump in the pass lane and steal the ball that leads to a fast break.

The whole alleyoop system needs to be redone b/c it is all wrong.
