I'm excited for Live 13 and here's my list for them to compete with 2k.

SIMULATION/REALISM!!!!!
The past live/elite games have had kind of a arcade type feel to them. Theres nothing bad about that, however, it only caters to casual/average basketball fans. The reason 2k has had success is because it has a sense of realism that both casual and hardcore fans of basketball could enjoy. I feel that if EA goes back to NBA Live 2005 (which I personally feel has been the best one) and kind of emulate what they did with that and expand on that to add realism, then we could be looking at a great game.

Presentation
NBA Live 10 had really great presentation so all that needs to be done here is expand on what they already had.

Game Modes
This is where EA could take over 2k. 2k kind of slacked off this year in my opinion as far as game modes that keep players interested. Their My Player mode has virtually been the same since it was first introduced to the series. The Association mode also hasn't really changed a bit either. Blacktop has actually gotten worse. I feel that this is really where EA has a chance to shine and they should take advantage of this.

Natural Motion
Get rid of animations. I'm tired of seeing animations that don't match with the positioning my player was in. I'm tired of seeing the same animations for scenarios. Different players handle different situations differently. If i drive in and get fouled, I want to see the player react to however he was hit and adjust himself to try to get the best shot.

The Verdict: EA has a chance to reclaim the throne with this one. They are already preaching that this is "The Future of Basketball". If they can back this up... the possibilities are endless.

Biggest thing I'm looking for is fun gameplay with an extensive franchise mode that I can get immersed in. I always have been a huge Live fan and havent played NBA games since NBA Live 10.

My other request is for it to be NOTHING like 2K basketall games.

couldnt agree more, I refused to get brainwashed into 2k, I played it and I wasnt imprssed

That would actually be cool as long as it was balanced well. I'd hate for something like the to be easily spammed.

i agree... it all has to be balanced, but u see it an awful lot in the NBA nowadays!!

Great thoughts!...I agree ,tho id like to touch on a few things.

I swithched to 2k in 2k6 and never looked back but at the moment the 2k fan-base to me has never been so disgruntled!...
One thing i quickly learned is that 2k hardcore gamers dont respect "Live series" ,Its far too Arcade and unrealistic even tho its always looked better and felt a little more authentic.

To me it seems the 2k audience has been promised too much and delivered too little (Im looking at you "Art Updates").

I think basketball games are to relient on "Features" and need to revert back to heart of the beast ...Association

Whether you are hardcore NBA,Casual,Online,Offline player the one thing basketball games have been yet to deliver is a true Association feel...I Wish NBA Live can bring that!.If they can mix that with Great gameplay,great presentation,realistic player movement,Trades and draft classes amd people will be saying MyPlayer who?

The ledgends have been a nice touch,but 2k rolled the dice and spent obviously majority of its time on the legends...leavings holes in gameplay,untouched association mode,and so many bugs... pest control
Would be shocked lol!

Now dont get me wrong I LOVE 2k..but i love good SIM bball too,and if Live wants to win the war,They have to aim to stab the beast in the heart.I believe its with Association mode not Feature modes.

This is my first post in a Live Forum...2 years ago i never thought id be anticipating a LIVE basketvall game i hope they can earn back some credibility and give us Sim Basketball!...Stats,gameplay,graphics,accessories, shoes,presentation -The whole She-Bang!

I have a question is it possible that nba live 10 and probebly 13 only can be updated threw Playstation plus or is it free, for updating the rosters?

Because from where i see it i have to pay 15 bucks to update my game?

Will Game Face be included? There is no reason that it shouldn't. All they really have to do is port it over from Tiger Woods, Grand Slam, or FIFA.

As for competition, the Live series has always had a less variety of animations. I'd like then to have a wide variety of animations both contextual and signature to help differentiate the players and give the gameplay more visual variety.

I want lots of strategic coaching options. NBA Live has usually had a very basic set of options for this aspect. I am thinking of special inbound plays to defensive and offensive priorities and strategic substitutions.

I really want to see them change the way the difficulties work by using adaptive AI instead of just boosting probabilities.

-have TV networks such as ESPN/TNT/ABC
-for each network have their real life intro before every game
-show players in the locker room before game
-have player introductions
-show players doing their pre-game routine
-new commentators
-all teams jerseys (Miami Back in Black and their White w/ pink stripe jersey)

Gameplay
-have better player movement
-have player signature size ups, dunks, and jump shots
-give teammates a better AI

Create a Player
-Hairstyles

-have a 3-game showcase for the rookies

-allow your player get endorsed and choose who they want to be endorsed by
-allow your player to join all star weekend festivities
-if your player is hurt let show in the way he plays (if any player is hurt)
-show your player winning his award

Hoping for a good Dynasty mode.
Just one bit of a suggestion, could we try dynasty mode cut scenes like in Live 04? Those little details were what made Dynasty mode so fun to play back then.

Record season by season stats for each player/playoff stats
Have a hall of fame, have the ability to retire numbers like in live 05.

Rookies have announcable names, and make sure to have pregame presentations, preferably headed by ESPN during the games.

Have a better FA signing thing, the 3 guesses thing really didnt work out too well. Possible allow retired players to be hired into staff/convinced for a comeback.

With a FIBA Licence, possibly include the FIBA World Club Championships as well?

OH AND PLEASE PUT THE MAGAZINE COVERS BACK IN. Those were beyond sick.

The My Player knockoff would be nice as well.

In game, my only complaint is losing the ball in the paint too frequently and the animation felt locked, and there should be more fluidity on the defenders vs the dribbles, Live 10 had spins getting interrupted, and the complete animation being canceled in lieu of a "defensive stop" animation, transitions between animations will be key to making a fluid game.

Hope they read this. If they dont, and someone at Live forums agrees with me, please do pass it on at the appropriate boards, thanks.

I'm hoping Live 13 is good. If the previews are good, I might wait a week or 2 and see peoples opinions on both games before deciding which to get.

I hope Live is similar to how it was during Live 06, but obviously with PS3/360 graphics/gameplay improvements/better commentary
