Czar...I want you to be as pessimistic as possible. I think you may be somewhat pleased when this is all said and done.

    That's a powerful statement you're making.

We all want good basketball. We want great basketball.

But we also want immersion (I think).

By a good videogame...do you mean bells & whistles? Because I don't get that from the little info we have.

I want control in my basketball game. It's probably the only thing that keeps me away from 2K because of the Isomotion.

But you read real time physics and no more canned animations as a good videogame?

I feel your overall skepticism, but not forsaking a fundamentally sound basketball game in any of that.

Well Said Sir ! I am all for immersion as well I just want them to keep in mind that we don't forget the reason for the season in the midst of the immersion.

Probably being a bit too defensive but I know its a team effort here on OS so if I'm going pessimestic I know some of my brothers here will take the other road and thereby all of our bases will be covered. I of course am secretly hoping to be wrong

I can understand why some of us fear the unknown, but lets try to go in to this open minded. We are 2 weeks from E3 and I am sure we will see some gameplay or tech videos on this physic engine so we can get a better understanding what we are in store for in october..

Also, I wonder how glitchy the technology will be during the first year of implementation. As we've seen with NBA DNA, having a great idea and executing it properly are two very different things.
yeah i totally agree. I don't think EA can afford for the technology to be glitchy with NBA LIVE. DNA was a mess half the time.

NOt so much fearing the unknown for me I don't care if they capture aliens if it works my thing is the execution of these technologies will they become more important that the basketball. In the last interview he say novell who is a good dude has final say so etc etc etc on gameplay. I'm like that's good to know I don't want Mr hockey man overriding Novel on a mechanic that may not make good basketball sense. That is all I'm really really trying to say.

but still I will have to see it. Because they are known for getting carried away with the technology aspect. In my eyes anyway.

They HAVE to have a great game this year. So I expect a full media glamor print internet key word BLITZ but at the end of the day Czar just hopes they don't forget its a basketball game.

you kno w? don't just copy what worked in your other games for the sake of the fact that they sold units. Basketball is not any of those other sports is all I'm saying.

can somebody explain to me how the shot stick will work?

is it going to negate player attributes and rely solely on User skill? I'm not understanding this properly I think. So if I get awesome with the stick does that mean I can nail long jumpers with Shaq or Amare or something?

              Please clarify.

Either way, everything else sounds promising as long as it's not a complete Arcade game or something.

I was starting to dig and be impressed with Live's progress. In '10 I really loved the art direction and the "look" of the game, and I think the player models and graphics were awesome overall.

Check the Q&A thread, the interview discusses this at length.
