Re: NBA Live 2004 Hands-On at IGN
Good and bad...
GOOD = two buttons for shooting is great. Controls really went to a whole new level in 2003 and sound like 2004 will be even better.
BAD = "but Live veterans will be able to make every game session look like a highlight reel. " Hmmmmmmmm...I hope not...Comment

I guess theres two things that may remedy this:
1. IGN usually are way off the mark.
2. Even if it's a highlight reel type game, like 2003, then sliders may be able to fix that up.
Here's hoping...as a lot about the game sounds great IMO.Comment

Re: NBA Live 2004 Hands-On at IGN
This is what I mean by IGN being unreliable...
They say "every game will be a highlight reel'...and then say QUOTE "With all of this freedom on the offensive end of the court, it might sound like the scores in Live 2004 games will be even higher than those from last year. However, the defensive intensity looks like it's been greatly improved. The improved momentum system and 10-man motion capture animation system have already combined to limit the effectiveness of the freestyle control. You can't just spin and crossover your way all over the court at will."
If any IGN writes read these forums, look up the word 'contradiction' fella'sComment

Re: NBA Live 2004 Hands-On at IGN
. One thing I noticed about NBA Live that sets it apart, in my opinion, from a lot of the other basketball video games, is how well the players away from the ball respond. I was playing with the Cavs, and I had LeBron in the corner, holding the ball, and I threw it back up top to Dajuan. From there I was going to swing it to Ricky Davis in the opposite corner, just as he stepped behind a pick from Carlos Boozer. As I threw it in, Drew Gooden, who was guarding Boozer, noticed the pass, jumped in front of the screen, and swiped the pass. Just as it would happen in an NBA game. Here's another LIVE 2004 PREVIEW:
