I believe rEAnimator posted few pages back in the thread that he and the team just found out this morning abuot the delay. So don't think he had any idea either, I wouldn't chalk up him not saying anything to being distrustful.

Re: CONFIRMED: NBA Elite 11 Delayed until 2011
You know, Pdawg, I think I agree with you here. I've had the feeling through this whole "OS Elite Debacle 2010" that the people directly involved in creating the game (Reanimator, others) have said about as much as they should, considering this game is the way they make money to survive. They were pretty honest. If I were interested in keeping my job, I'd be up front, but in a protected, positive, and optimistic manner, as they seemed to be. I don't think there's any way that a developer, no matter how up front he wanted to be, could come out and say something like, "Guys, in all honesty, I couldn't in good faith recommend this game to you, but please go buy it anyway."
Who's to say how all this stuff really broke down, but to me, it feels like this was a group of guys who decided to attempt to revolutionize the NBA video game market, tried their best, came up very short, tried to make the best of the situation at hand, and then suffered a giant step back and dissapointment in being delayed.
I'd surely stop short of saying, "Well done EA!" but I do believe a delay is the right move. I have to believe this is tough news to take for anyone involved in the creation of that game though. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: CONFIRMED: NBA Elite 11 Delayed until 2011
I am surprised that EA would do this, but it makes perfect sense. I think they should just release a game next October and skip this year. I hope they go back to the Live 10 engine and go from there. I really enjoyed that game and think that it has a TON of potential.
They need to fix franchise mode/sim stats while they are at it. Give us the ability to play a shorter season!!!!!!!
It would be a big mistake to release a game for this season, and I think they are smart enough to know this.If a loved one is expecting a baby or just had one, please read about Craniosynostosis. It is a common birth defect that can sometimes be overlooked by doctors.

FAITH RESTORED!!
I don't know what will ever come of Elite but we'll see in time. It was a leap but I would still love to see them just build on Live 10.
I for one am looking forward to the Live 10 roster updates. And I don't think anyone should give EA any grief if the rookies look generic for a free update. I doubt they can do too much about that with DNA updates.

Re: CONFIRMED: NBA Elite 11 Delayed until 2011
I would actually prefer if they were trying to dupe me because if they actually believe that the demo represents a good game of basketball....if they actually believe that the demo is a good simulation of NBA basketball...I question that they will be able to deliver the type of game most people at OS want to play.
Let me be clear. Devs' role at OS is not to hype the game. OS is a two way street. The Devs get the opportunity interact with the hardcore gaming community and use those ideas to improve their game. The OS community gets direct access to a Dev to submit ideas, fixes and features that they would like to see in the game. No hype. Just responses. I think the Elite devs have done a great job at that.
2k has guys like Ronnie2k and Live (now THQ) had guys like Stephensonmc who are PR guys. They are not devs. They are here to solely hype the games they promote. So if Ronnie says MLB2k is the greatest baseball game ever, I take that with a grain of salt because I know his primary job is to promote and hype his game. With Devs, I expect a little more straight talk.
Thank You. What worries me now is whats going to happen because that was in no way shape or form a real NBA sim, especially nowadays.
I have a hard time believing a guy like DC went there and told them the ft line dunks and take offs off the step were acceptable because I know he didnt, and its not.
So delaying the game to finish what it was or to actually work on what we said we wanted from the beginning is what im wondering. Whatever happened to the customer is always right?
I really dont want to hear about hockey or fifa ever again in a basketball forum. NBA fans have gotten the short stick for far too long fellas.. and honestly, there should be a plan but not one where what we want as consumers are just thrown in because someone wants YMCA ball players to try the game. How about the ones who have been buying and waiting for years for certain things?Comment

Like I said earlier either they are lying(covering up for a bad product) or they have no idea what a good basketball game is supposed to be. There is no middle ground. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: CONFIRMED: NBA Elite 11 Delayed until 2011
I was quite clear on my first post in the impressions thread that the demo represented the final build and there was no reason not to pass judgment on the demo except for 3 very specific things we had fixed in the retail version.
No one said "wait for" anything after the demo was released. No one said the patch will fix most the problem. No one from EA anyway. You just made that up now. We weren't trying to fool you.
We genuinely like the game and are going to be working hard to address the concerns people have brought up.
This has been a tough day, I think I need to step away for a bit..."Via David Littman.
Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."GT Agent August

I know for a fact that the devs knew there were things missing and they even said so publicly in that they said they didn't have time for tons of animations/graphic work...they truly feel very proud of the work they did in the time they were allotted...they were told to do the best they could with the time they had and had no say in whether the game was worth $60 or whether it would be a ripoff to be released at all...
To me, a person can be mad at EA for "ruining" Live 10 or being a week away from trying to sell an "incomplete" product but in that case go email Peter Moore...Comment

Re: CONFIRMED: NBA Elite 11 Delayed until 2011
rEAnimator this is all I can say. Take the NBA Live 2010 and improve it and you guys will be alright. I actually purchased NBA Live 2010 and enjoyed it but there were somethings about it that turned me off like the Auto-Subs system and a few other things. But continue with NBA Live 2010 it was a good game.Comment

Please tell them don't go back to Live 10 if they are thinking about it. I don't care if it's from FIFA or NHL or ant other game. The demo showed me a new standard for bball game in gameplay and control. It could be an amazing game if they have enough time.Comment
