Re: Next EA Sports NBA Game Will Not Release Until 2012?

To be honest I was expecting them to release a game this year, but I guess that won't be the case. It is a little surprising to me. Hopefully with all this time they can do things right.

If they're building from the ground up (again...) hopefully they implement a solid base that they can keep expanding on. Just make sure the game plays realistic out of the box and don't worry about extra BS features. The focus should be on the basics like gameplay, presentation, control, franchise mode, etc. I don't want to see Be A Pro, I don't want to see Ultimate Team, I don't want to see any of those extra features. I just want the best possible playing game. And please switch the name back to Live.

Well if your saying "ever" I'm sure somebody will give it a shot. I doubt it would be anytime soon.

Does this mean they have started from scratch with develpoment or part of the code from 11 will be kept as a basis?

IMO a college/Pro game should be released as one product. At least then the College license would make its money back. Problems would come with disc space...

All i want to know is since EA is bowing out for this year, will NBA 2k12 actually have a full fledged allstar weekend in the Association mode, i.e a real dunk comp, real 3pt etc..If so that would be nice addition to the game.

It's hard to imagine if atleast one of EA studios haven't been working on Elite since being cancelled that they will make that much of an improvement. Enough to compete with 2K13 anyways.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm confident 2K12 will be just fine. I doubt they will get lazy because the competition is on hold....not gone.

Besides......2K seems to pride themselves in basketball.

2k is too mature a company to sit on the laurels. What's more, they respect their customers and fans.

After all has been said and done, the name - Elite and the product itself seem to be the biggest busts ever in the history of sports gaming to me.

I would guess that they will overhaul major systems as they see fit. I don't think they have time to start from a blank sheet and still get a game out that can be competitive. But, again, knowing Tiburon, the game will be the way THEY want it to be.

No, problem would be the NCAA and NBA being on the same product. Which will NEVER happen so folks can stop asking for it.
