Just to clarify I am buying Live and ESPN NBA I really think EA may have done a great job. THis should be a great year for sports video games.

You Live junkies need to get your collective heads out of the sand and get with the program. ESPN is where it's at. Just go to your nearest electronics store, buy yourselves an XBox or a PS2 and pick up a copy of ESPN B-ball when it comes out. Put EA Sports out of business, quit messing around with "patching" and get into a game whose graphics and gameplay are far superior....and one more thing: PATCHING IS OVERRATED. I tried it, loved it for a while, but then I came to the realization I could do so much more with my time. Like, actually play more games instead of wasting all of my time on patching. Who gives a hoot if K-Mart grew his hair out or LeBron grows a goatee? All I care about is the game anyways. That's why ESPN will outshine Live this year. The discrepency in graphics is laughable. I think ESPN nailed it this year.

The graphics don't really matter from most decent camera angles. Why put EA out of business if they still make a good product. ESPN will likely be good, but so will Live. Live was fun to play last year even with all it's problems. That's all that really matters to most people. If ESPN is fun, people will buy it and play it. Nobody's head is in the sand because they like a game. Your head is more likely in the sand for making a post like that. You waste more time hating on things you don't know about than enjoying the game you bought. You probably miss out on a lot of good things in life that way. Good graphics will make a lot of people miss a lot of good games. Graphics aren't the only thing in a game. If they were, you wouldn't see so many people on these boards saying don't judge games til you play them. Live may be uglier than ESPN/ID and every other game, but that does not mean it will be inferior.

Get over it. Play good games and fun games. If you can't live without players looking exactly like real life, I suggest you save $50 and get league pass or buy a ticket to a real game. Best graphics you will ever see.

If you want to have fun with a game, give the games a chance and see what is actually fun and realistic. Not just what excites you visually. Graphics matter, but this isn't a Playboy game. Not much to look at in the NBA from my perspective. Learn to enjoy a game after you play it, not just looking at pretty pictures.
