Re: Can you pass out of a layup or dunk??

I understand what you are saying... But the simple fact of the matter is, is that players DO make breaks towards the basket, faking the drive to pass out to an open jump shooter. And the best way to do that in live is to start the layup or dunk animation which causes the defense to close into the paint. And with this years version YOU CANNOT DO THIS. If you simply try to RUN into the paint the defense sticks to the ball handler. And if you press the layup or dunk button, they will shoot it no matter what!!! We should have complete control over this. THIS SUCKS!

how often have you seen an NBA player pass? This is not a common occurrence. Passing out of a regular "shot", yes (i.e., the "jump pass", which does happen). But once a player launches off his opposite foot and is going strong to the rack, he is either going to complete the basket, get fouled, or get rejected. Not a problem, IMO.

That is not true. gaurds and some small forwards will pass going strong to the hole all the time. Nash and Kid come to mind as an example of guards that will pass going strong to the hole after they have left their feat.

actually laimbeer its quite realistic, if you play ball you know, if you wanna fake drive and pass just use pro hop and then pass, thats basically what i do, and you still get an open man..try it out.

But now there is a pro-hop. If you drive towards the basket and pro-hop, you are doing the exact same thing (i.e., "faking the drive to pass out to an open jump shooter" and "causes the defense to close into the paint"). And you can pass out of the pro-hop. I was doing this last night, and it felt realistic and natural.

Honestly, anyway you look at this, this is passing out of a layup is something that every basketball game should have. That is a basic basketball move, and it is a serious flaw.
