Re: Time for LIVE to step up the graphics

No I dont give EA Credit as you say, it's their damn job to enhance and produce a quality top notch product, why does NCAA support 16 x 9 but not Live 2004. All the other issues I pointed out, I really liked live this year but bottom line Sega pours their souls in to making their games look realistic and completey update the XBOX verion with 720p and better lighting and textures.

-IMO I hope that EA is dethrowned in the sales area which forces them to put out a quality looking title for next year, EA is all about sales, for YEARS on the SNES and Genesis they merely TOUCHED up the graphics and changed the rosters and pushed it out the door, I hope they go down with the ship myself, if they don't change their ways!

Re: Time for LIVE to step up the graphics

If they would just port DOWN the PC version TO Xbox instead of over from the PS2....we (Xbox owners) would have a pretty kick azz looking game.

The Xbox is more than capable of producing near the PC quality graphics.

      EA sux in that regard.
Great game Live is though beyond the graphics.

It's as if the years and years of small touches from all of the EA BBall games over the years have slowly just been built upon to give us this final seemingly complete product.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Well Philstat you've have most definitely made your opionions on the graphics issue quite clear. I would imagine it really puts a lot of pressure on the Guys in there graphics dept.

But to have to produce the Game Graphics in fear of public opionion is not something any Game Company is going to stand for (Its about the Benjamins sadly).

If we want them to "Step Up" what they put out in these Game Graphics hopeing for the company to fold or go under is a bit extreme IMO. And I for one would not want to see that happen.

So I would hope that maybe they read what the "Gamer" such as yourself post, and use that as a pulse to get a feel of what it is we want in our Graphics as Gamers and not have to "Work/Produce" under duress for fear of putting out an infearior product.

I don't think that having to work under those conditions would result in a better Game as far as graphics are concerned. And I'm sure this "Graphics Debate"will be here next year for more debate.

In the meantime you are entitled to your opinion. I just don't feel that the Graphics are as bad as you would lead one to think. I would say however if you mean this to be used as "Constructive Critisism" you have made your point well. And that there is is room for improvement and I respect you for that. But the company shouldn't have to suffer for it.

Just make the effort to improve on what I feel are pretty decent looking Graphics and we'll see come next year what they come up with.

Re: Time for LIVE to step up the graphics

I don't know anything about live's gameplay but the graphics are pretty bad (at least compared to espn). If this was the only game out I could see how people wouldn't know any better but the game is ugly. If you really didn't care about graphics then why would you buy a next gen console? They make live on ps1 why not save money and keep the ps1 version? A big part of the reason that I got an xbox is for the graphics. I don't know how ea can keep putting out the same looking game every year.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I agree with you, yeah maybe I went overboard some (hahaha), but I can't help but feel EA is all about the money. I honestly feel they don't put their heart and souls in game developments such as these type of game makers: Square, Team Ninja/Tecmo, Ubi/Red Storm, Bungie, Nintendo of America, Sega AM, Visual Concepts, Blizzard, Bioware, Rockstar etc... I feel they are for the most part conceted, if it weren't for Sega putting heat on them they would do a worse job then they are doing now.

When you are popping $50 a shot for games, you expect what the above mentioned developers give you, yeah nothing is perfect but I expect an honest effort and EA by NO MEANS did EA put their all in this product. Hell, look at the framerate issues, EASILY could have been resolved, EASILY! Not a game killer but does hurt the overall enjoyment. EA reminds me of the SCEA, Lucas Arts, CAPCOM and 3DO (among many others) developers they will do anything to shove another rehash out YEAR after YEAR. Rebuild the game engine EA, it has been three years now on the same engine, it has gotten a little long in the tooth (eh)!
