Am I the lone person who struggles with Shaq in the post? I just played the All-Star game and he missed his first 4 shots. It definitely wasn't a matter of simply backing them down and hitting the dunk button. Of the 4 shots 2 were blocked, 1 was missed, and 1 was altered and missed. Even after this, it seemed like Ilgauskus and J. O'neal had his number all day.

It all depends when you pass to the big fella...
I have to say, I've had games using Elton Brand where I have been able to dunk way, way too easy. Once you hit a certain spot on the floor, it's automatic...no matter who is close / double or not.
The D doubles regardless...which IMO, is a HUGE AI flaw.
It means if I post up a 6'1 weakling...the double comes. It means a quick pass to my C is virtually a money play.
I tested it by playing Kerry Kittles at PF one game...and they doubled him non stop (and I was playing the Spurs and TD).
It's really weak AI...but LIVE has always had it.
Solution = switch controllers and turn the doubles off on everyone except your best player or two.
This works...but is a pain in the arse (ie, if Yao and Stevie Franchise come out...the doubles are still "on" for Cato and Mooch)
Other solution is to play using a team like Washington...who have a weak front line...and turn doubles OFF for all PF / C's.
I have found this to be okay...keeps the doubles on Arena's and Stack in the lanes, while not getting Haywood doubledComment

My only suggestion is dont cheese. But one thing I do know, even if you did use that move or play every single time, I guarentee you wont win every time.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Okay I Got Both ESPN and Live and here\'s my tTake....
I don't see what the big deal is. If you want to take advantage of Shaq's ability to score inside, do this: When he's calling for the ball, pass to him, but don't dribble. Just hit the jump shot button. If he's got great position down low, he's automatic. He'll most likely shoot a jump hook. And the CPU won't double as often if you don't dribble immediately. The CPU seems to only double when you do a move. But you can pivot, fake, etc. without the CPU coming on the immediate double. But think of it this way: if I'm playing against you, and you pick the Lakers, you best believe I'm doubling Shaq as soon as he touches the ball. Now for the CPU doubling everyone in the post, again, just don't try to do all of those moves. Just turn and shoot.Comment

Re: Okay I Got Both ESPN and Live and here\'s my tTake....
I play with the Lakers, and Shaq does a pretty good job with me. I would suggest that you learn the timing of the game. What I mean is that some of the passes take longer to get there, and the defense gets over to your man before you have control of him. In that situation, I would kick it right back out. Also, learning where the double team is coming from helps. If Fisher and Shaq are the only ones, on that side of the court, you can move Fisher further away (closer to the 3 point line) and give the defense farther to go. The two man game is there. Sometimes the double will not come.
Also, shooting some of the regular shots (the O button) instead of trying to dunk all the time. Shaq is the team's second leading scorer behind Kobe. He does get bumped a lot, but if he would be unstoppable. I like the balance.

Live is so much garbage man. If live added freestyle to live 2002, that would have been a good game.Comment
