What is your Physical Defense slider set to. If it is too low (anything below 50, I have both of mine set to 100), the CPU can drive right by your guys, hence no need to take the mid-range jumper.

With both of my Phys. Def sliders at 100 I am playing 12 minute quarters and getting between 75-90 FG Attempts per team per game, and a lot of mid-range shots by the CPU.

I will try this the next time I play... It got to the point where I have to step away from the control for a few days.... I was also think of come up with some type of fomula where I raise the mid range slider for the computer well above 50 and lower his other scoring options, so that they avg about %44. Hoping that with make the mid range shot his best option, he will take it more often.

its unfortunate that the novelty has worn off for you....im still loving it more with each day. Its funny because sometimes people here complain about things that don't even go on in the league...me and my dad were just talking about how the nba guys have no mid-range game. The cpu seems to take what I give them during the flow of the game. I wish all they would do was shoot 3's cuz I'd be blowing them out. My defense is good enough to stop the drive and often times they will adapt to more pick and roll so they can get the 15 footer....to each his own though...

                  Re: They are still there!!

I think the midrange-shooting problem is not completly solvable. What seems to help a little bit is to turn up the physical defense slider and try playing some zone defense.
My problem is that the CPU is shooting to many three's on me. They shoot about 30 tries a game. When you back up from the CPU player on the three point line he will instantly try to shoot the three. Sure, you can say he takes what the defense gives him, but that's a little too much in my opinion. Any suggestions to this problem?

Just wanted to point something out, if it wasn't already obvious to everyone.

Lowering the CPU sliders for something like Close Shot Percentage is NOT going to result in fewer shot attempts from close range by the CPU team. They are going to MAKE fewer shots if the slider is lower, but they certainly aren't going to TAKE fewer shots. It is not as if the CPU team somehow knows that a close shot is now harder to make, and will take fewer of them.

Wow, I am glad you are having such a great basketball experience. I wish I could get the CPU to take 15 footers. I pride myself in my defense, kinda just carries over from when I use to play basketball. I enjoy the look on the other guys face when he realized that the only thing he could do was pass to someone else. On the game I can just about shut the computer down at will. This is where my problems start occurring more and more. The better you play defense the more 3s, 5 second hail marys and “nothing is going to stop this” low post moves I see.

As far as the nba not having a mid range game, I can’t for the life of me see where people get this from. I was watching the game last night(Lakers/Spurs) D.Fisher on more than one occasion dribble inside the three point line, faked a drive and pulled up at the top of the key. That walk-on Hart for the Spurs was nailing mid range shots all night. Players like A. Houston make a good living draining the mid range shot. On a whole the NBA teams have gone away from the mid range shot for a few reasons. The size and speed of today’s players effect this a great deal. They can flat out cover more ground than teams of old that used the mid range more. How many teams in the 80s could put 2-3 seven footers on the floor at once and not have the game slow to a crawl? Team like the Mavs, Rockets, Spurs, and the Wolves can do this on a nightly basis.
I am not looking for the computer to take only mid range shots. Just take and make more of them when they are open, or even make a move and pull up for some more often. have a guy catch and shoot once in while.
