Honestly I've never seen a game company get away with what ea is doing and people still give them a pass

I'm aorry but after half a decade of below mediocre games a cancelled game and non marketing of a failed live 07....its like we've seen this, movie before but some people are laying back with the battered wives syndrome

I expect them to do something since they decide to go with a hockey dude over mike wang I expect some thunder not oh they just need to come out...screw that

Hire more people do what you have to but don't folllow up a 2 year hiatus with aw man we gone get you a game but imma have to ask you to accept a game like nba09

All theyre doing is hiding what they have why keep making excuses for them? At this rate its an insult to even mention catching up with 2k now or 3 years from now.

I'm still not in the cancel camp but this is a mess

Corey and Casey since you are both Game Changers for EA Sports brands do you have any insight as to why they are barely marketing the game, pulling out of in house events, and failing to show anything that would cause the industry media to be excited about the games direction?
Not even a clue really. I haven't dealt with live at all, maybe down the road I will but only if the game attempts to emulate real basketball without the animation heavy stuff.

I didn't follow Live 07 very much back in the day, and some people keep mentioning EA's strategy about 07 some times. I remember seeing the footplanting demo, with T-Mac running in circles, but nothing else.

Did it was similar to this year?

          Then you saw everything

They didn't let anyone see the game

          No reviewers got it nothing

Very similar to whats happening right now except they didn't already have 2 years and a working copy like now

No demo, too? That's a must for me, these days. No demo = Not even touching the box at the store.

BTW, I've never played 07. I read that the graphics were really good. Anything worthy about gameplay or even the "revolutionary" footplanting was bad?

Re: NBA Live 13 strategy fail or smart?

The strategy is too speculative. No one really knows what is going on with the game. Just suppose that their strategy is to allow September to be the month in which they start pouring out information and deliver what progress has been made with the game. You can't do that on the heels of cancelling your last effort. And the last effort was cancelled because of how horrible the community responded to the demo.

NBA Elite shouted that the developers were not ready. The game wasn't ready. So they took a loss and never released what was supposed to be their new and improved version in NBA Elite.

Fast forward to today and we are all speculating as to whether or not the game will ever see the light of day. We have no real release date, no cover athlete...nothing topical that normal releases do to generate interest. All we have is what they've done the time before this time, and that was nothing.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

EA had " game changers" and they never released any info to the public after their visit and yet 2k had social media guys release info the day after they arrived to their home states. Those game changers must have been ripping nba live apart because of the way it looked and played. EA must have kidnapped those guys and placed them in the basement of their HQ out of fear they tell the truth about live 13

Werent the gamechangers around for Elite as well? TBH I dont really trust what I hear from any of the game changers, not that I have issues with them personally, but the fact that its from EA that makes me question their validity.

Honestly I never hear anything negative from the game changers, yet we get the same issues year after year.

No demo no preview no redeeming qualities....graphics don't mean a thing when its crap

I had someone willing to just give me their brand new copy for free

It was that bad. Glad I canceled my preorder that year

This. 100% this. Everything about this series has been a fail since 2011, and the devs/marketing team have somehow managed to make things even worse this year. Hell, maybe they should be applauded, because it certainly takes a special kind of talent to outdo the catastrophe that was Elite.

Ever since Next Gen consoles came out, NBA Live's production went way down. People don't remember, NBA Live dominated the genesis console games, then when the Next gen consoles came out, 2K kept releasing quality games with better graphics, and NBA Live got way too into the graphics and basically forgot that people aren't stupid and still like gameplay

Since the 360 and PS3 came out pretty much all of EAs sports games, until recently, were terrible or barebones releases. Fifa is really their only bright spot, and if Madden's infinity engine works out correctly, Madden might be back.....

But this is what, 6-7 years into this gen?! At max we shouldve been here 2-3 years into it. Hopefully this doesnt happen again once the next gen platforms arrive

EA Sports knows the dropped the ball this current gen & they said it won't happen again next gen they want to be more innovative leading unto the next gen.

Anything the NBA Live devs say they can outdo NBA 2K dev in the NBA 2K team says they will improve in that area. For example: passing NBA Live was trying to target NBA 2K's weakpoints like passing but it was known that NBA 2K13 passing has improved. It seems like both NBA games will have something collision based.
