This answered alot of unwarranted criticism as far as player models. Its so early.Sixers/Panthers/Tarheels

All this sounds good (as it's supposed to). I just hope that the next Live video of over 1 minute will be gameplay. Let the game speak for itself. My Specs:

Re: NBA Live 14 Interview with Scott "OG" O'Gallagher
You're right. At this point, I pretty much expect more from EA than 2k. Whether you like it or not, 2k over the last years never really made much effort to promote their game as a realistic basketball simulation. I was disappointed with 2k13, but they really were kinda honest and said upfront that the biggest innovation this year is a Jay-Z name tag. And maybe sig skills, which wasn't a new concept at all and only semi related to real basketball.
Now EA seems to be really confident, and they're setting the bar quite high for themselves. They've got a former pro player as game designer, which leaves no excuses for some sh*t like 2k does with rosters, defense and playbooks. They should know better, and they talk like they've figured it out. They're promoting Live 14 as a game different from 2k, as the simulation alternative for basketball video games.
I mean at this point I don't even expect huge gameplay changes to 2k14. Probably more features and eye candy instead. And besides some social media drone on this forum and a few half-a**ed dev insights, they never really advertised realism as a key selling point. EA is doing this consciously now. They're much more confident than I would've expected, and they absolutely have to back it up with a good game.Comment

Re: NBA Live 14 Interview with Scott "OG" O'Gallagher
Sounds like this franchise is in good hands. The Live team has been saying all the right things. They are not telling us this is the best basketball game out there. They are simply saying they are working to make this a basketball sim and will let the results speak for themselves. No gimmicks. I dont expect this game to be as good as the other. But I hope they can just deliver a solid product thats worth playing and offers a different experience from the other game. Feels good hearing shopmaster say it looked nothing like the cgi trailer. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Not trying to give you a hard time man. I'm just saying that we're reading too much into what is said by EA and what is NOT said by 2K and it doesn't do anyone any favors. I'm amazed at how much people THINK they know about the Ignite engine, when there's actually been NOTHING actually shown. Let's just wait and see what we get instead of hanging on marketing speak.Comment

Everyone needs to calm down with this, people don't understand that the game is extremely early in the development stage and if they did show gameplay it would have to be next-gen. I guarantee 2K releases current-gen gameplay before next-gen gameplay.Boston Celtics

If the game is extremely early in the development stage - now, it will be released next year...maybe... Come on...
There's nothing wrong with wishing for gameplay videos. Too early or not, gameplay videos are the thing to see. Especially when it comes to NBA Live.
SpoilerAnd why does it have anything to do with the other game?Last edited by youvalss; 07-09-2013, 05:54 PM.My Specs:

I've been an NBA LIVE ***** for a very, very long time and showing game play early couldn't do anymore harm than it already has. Show the goods and spare yourselves another year of embarrassment unless the game is what you say it is.PSN: ForeverVersatile

If the game is not what they say it is - now, it's not going to happen in a couple of months either.
You don't turn a bad game into a great one at this point. If the game is released in November (obviously, just an assumption), it probably needs to be finished sometime in October. Either way, if the foundations are not there now, a couple of months down the road won't make a difference.Last edited by youvalss; 07-09-2013, 07:15 PM.My Specs:

I agree that they need to do everything right this time...
