This thread has been highly entertaining to read. People can like what they like imo which makes the fact that this thread has gone on this long that much funnier. I have enjoyed many games that got less than stellar reviews (circus maximus, enclave)
To those who enjoy LIVE 14: Just curious but if 2k14 was actually using Live 14's game engine/graphics and Live 14 was actually using 2k14's game engine/graphics which game would you have been more impressed with as a next gen release title? I find it hard to fathom that people would be admiring blow bys and talking about playing 2k takes real bball IQ. They would just be pissed imo..

enclave was a good game. It was like a prequel to Demon Souls

lol. i played the Live Demo and turned it off after 1 quarter. this was on my ps4. honestly i couldnt even tell its next gen. i found the gameplay downright horrible. but to each their own

LOL. How can people even defend this disappointment of a game? This game is complete garbage. If this is SIM basketball then Live will continue playing second fiddle to 2K. Man I want to slap everybody that was involved in making this game and a couple people in this thread.

Wow, I've spent the last 30 minutes of my sub-par life reading this thread and I was like wow. Then I've decided to go on YouTube and see how Live is doing (looked at Shakedown's vids, JaoSming). Live could (very heavy emphasis on could) have a lot of potential, but it is just not worth my 60 bucks. You can easily cheese around w/ the behind the back move and the hop step (don't get me wrong, 2K has some cheese, but not like Live 14). The movements and animations look stiff, and the game doesn't seem too "sim".

Anyway, regarding that thread, if you're doing real time physics and it looks significantly worse, you're doing it wrong.

The while point of physics engines in a sports game is to make a game look, act, and feel like the real thing.

If it doesn't look good, then it doesn't act right, and it won't feel like the real thing. It might feel like something else, and if you actually like that, fine. But it won't be a simulation of the sport it's based on and begins to lose the whole point of why it exists.
