this is how it works for me. i want the best basketball game possible. not just the best basketball game by default. thats what 2k is right now. its a good game. but it isnt great. but seems like it is in comparison to its low level comp. i dont judge like that. thats like someone telling me dwight howard is the best center in the nba. sure he is. if you want to be technical(you might go with hibbert). but i know dwight needs a lot of polish to truly be GREAT among greats that have played this game. i refuse to sit by and accept the status quo choice just because the comp isnt the greatest. i will take what i like from any other game and tell them PUT THIS in your game. and go back and tell the other guys hey you see what 2k did there with the graphics, facial expressions etc. copy them.

So if this is your goal, shouldn't you be posting in the 2k boards? Or shouldn't you be siting examples from 2k to help live?

This thread I guess is for pointing out the right things live did and I don't think it is in any way intended to discredit 2k's game so chill.

you refuse to see that because you're in bash live mode with the rest of the crowd. go ahead and bash them but bash them for the points they deserve it on. dont just sweep bash them Your game sucks, all of it. thats not true at all.

Hold on! Where do I bash Live? I called about some issues, and I disagree with your, um, interpretation, of what is happening in your video "evidence". Where am I bashing Live? Seems my failure to see the pearl paints me as a Live basher...

now you're worried about if i blew my money on it or not. there's a nice demo for anyone who wants it for less then $19.99. its called FREE.
if you were wondering how the game would play and if you just couldnt trust it. by all means download the demo and dont drop off any cash their way. i dont have a problem with that at all. its your choice. and a respected choice at that.

but with that said. basically the idea goes, dont break down why a game is a lot better in its foundation then people realized or even want to admit. because doing so means the game is terrible. thats what you've pretty much stated.

here's the deal. when people run on line and run with the pack because the IN thing to do is to bash something. whatever that may be. most people lose sight of the details, the small things that may be right with the thing you are bashing the most.

everyone doesnt have to fall in lock step with that line of thinking. i'm sorry i can break things apart, take the good and throw out the bad. i dont need to throw the baby out with the bath water. thats what you guys do.

which is also why you are the same ones complaining about 2k(the game you love) in a few months after the thrill of the sexy graphics die off.

and there's nothing wrong with complaining. you paid your hard earned money, complain until the sun comes up. my thing is this. before i complain. i will search to see if i can find an example of what i would like to see changed. then i say here 2k, you see this. this is something you guys should implement in your game.

this is what happened with the dribbling mechanics for 2k. i remember OS and other sites hating on nba lives dribbling. i recall a select few people i would read about stating it was as close to a realistic feel you could get with a controller to real dribbling and control. those few people caught hell all over the net. and then it happened. then people played 2k for longer and longer. and they got over the cuteness. and they wanted MORE control without having to wait for an animation to end.

the complaints started rolling in to 2k. people started saying "hey, make your dribbling similar or like nba lives" . a few games later they have pretty much done that.

I guess there's A LOT of people online RUNNING WITH THE PACK. You still don't get it. People are mad about Live for TWO MAIN REASONS.

1. The game a whole is just not good.

2. They scrapped Elite to have more time to put out a basketball game that was actually good.

And if the only way you can make points and defend this stuff is to say anyone that doesn't agree with you a 2k lover, etc.. well guess what... the things most of us have been saying about the Live franchise in recent years can say the same thing about 2k's baseball franchise where MLB The Show clearly mops the floor with them.

I don't know who you are trying to convince that Live is a good game? Everyone here or yourself. And for the record, most of us downloaded that free demo so we could see just how bad it was for ourselves. You make it seem like people being extra hard on Live and EA Sports (and rightfully so) have not played the game to some degree.

I seriously don't even know why you are putting this much effort in to defend the game. If it's the game for you.. then it's the game for YOU.. for the rest of us here, the reason why we are still talking about Live, even though we refuse to drop 60.00 on a game that had 2 years to be worked on is because WE WANT LIVE TO ACTUALLY BE A GREAT GAME.. DUH.. so you know.. we don't have 2k by "default" as you said.

It's like some dude has a 5-3, 250lb girlfriend and we say she's fat (as most would) and you say "naaah man.. she's just curvy and voluptuous" as you hold up a side by side camparison of that girl next to Kim Kardashian before she got pregnant lol.

And if you want to keep posting these forensic files type of videos as if this is the "trial of the century" by my guess but it's not "us" that's missing the point. It's YOU. Do you realize there is a LEVEL of "not so greatness" most people are willing to accept with a game that comes out.. it's like well "this isnt that great and I'm not a big fan of x and Y of the game.. BUT the SUM OF ALL OF ITS PARTS still makes for a game thats GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO SPEND MY MONEY ON!"... LIVE IS NOT THAT... dude if it was, EA wouldnt be issuing statements pretty much acknowledging this. Heck Sean' O Brien is being more realistic about THEIR game than you are.. and that just makes everything you spew on here... well.. laughable.

Holy Jesus. This is where you've really lost it. So, for all of the growth that 2k has done and spawned, you say they are the best only by default. You clearly cannot acknowledge all that has been accomplished by any title except your beloved Live for which you had to create a thread bereft of substance. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Here is a fact, king: the NBA 2K beat Live toe to toe. period. No exclusive deals. No unfair partnerships with leagues, networks, or hardware manufacturers. Toe to toe. That doesn't sound like "by default" to me.

I'm done with this. It's clear you've lost all objectivity.

Also I saw where you said people seem to think 2k14 is great, but you say it's not THAT great.. you say it's great COMPARED TO LIVE 14..

You crack me up man, you really do. I will do my "house" reference again. I got some money and I want to buy a house, like ASAP. There's two homes on the market..and they are the ONLY home's available, anywhere... One is a concrete slab (foundation), with maybe a toilet and thats it... The other is a fully built house.. I might love the living room but hate the closet space. I might be OK with the number of bedrooms, but kitchen needs better cabinets...

Okay, one of those is Live and the other is 2k... which house am I buying? The slab of concrete with a toilet on it.. or the house that I can live in (and live with purchasing) even though I know everything isn't perfect...

First, you don't know how I lean. I lean toward any game that isn't broken. Hell, I had Live before many people in this forum, thanks to Best Buy. So, what is "animation based gameplay"? It really is crazy how you guys make up terms that make no sense at all. And all of it based on assumptions to fit your narrative.

No, it's all based on parroting what their beloved EA Sports Marketing crew ****ted out back during the Elite hype train. Nobody said anything about animations around these parts until hockey guy and friends got on their developer diaries selling that no animations garbage to them, which of course these defend Live/EA to the death types have to run with since it was decreed from the mothership. That is of course unless the mothership changes it tune on it at a later time (see curve, learning for more info).

Before making assumptions about the forums, A lot of you guys need to look back at these same forums in 2010 and look at how all of these so called the "bashers" and "EA haters" supported Live 10.
to the fullest....people support good games...

How am I full of crap? I'm just going by what I'm seeing on this forum and other message boards. I don't own the game or have any plans to buy the game, but I did come here to see how the game is doing. All I see is 2K fanboys bashing the game by how it looks. You don't even have to be a "Live Nazi" to think the game plays good or OK. By giving them a name is just showing you're just trying to discredit everything they say, and that's all I see in this section of the forum when I visit. Someone says they like the game and you'll have ppl attack the person and try to discredit them. It's like many of you just stop being basketball fans and turned into graphic whores and fanboys.

You say some of these guys are trying to defend the game and don't own it, but you have many here that say the game is garbage and don't even own it let alone a next gen system. I can't believe this thread got so many more post after my post. This section of the forum is usually dead. A lot of ppl just want to trash NBA Live 14 I see, so this is my last post since I was only playing it just to try it out myself and don't care for the fanboy crap. This is actually my first time playing Live since the PS2 and always played 2K basketball..

I retracted my statement save for the key point - you're wrong. Many people here DO have the game. That is why some of them feel robbed. And most of the people defending the game don't even have it. You are one example of said crowd.

This part right here is the killer for me. I could be forgetting or I could have simply overlooked it, but I can't think of a single person who posted an actual opinion of Live outside of the obvious trolls of course, but not a single person that has chimed in with a negative opinion of the game is without a next gen system and either the retail copy of the game or the demo. As I said, reading the **** in this forum is ****ing hilarious with some of the stuff that get's thrown out for defense purposes.
