I bought Live because I wanted a different experience, otherwise what's the point of having 2 hoop games. Nah mean?

I've encountered that opinion. I can't agree at all aside from the simplification of defensive settings to supposedly smarter but more simplified POEs.

It's clear that the only "great" posts, to you, are the ones that ultimately compliment the game. You guys really are zealots. It might be that I don't know football, but Madden at least looked alright. It didn't seem like garbage. I'm actually moderately impressed with all the contact animations that are passable because of its technical challenge. So not really seeing garbage.

Now Live on the other hand... The zealotry is amazing. But what's funny is that most zealots champion an intangible ideal that is not always easy to deconstruct and expose.

Live just... looks bad and plays bad. Why would you willingly hitch your horse to that wagon?

Then again, humans are not rational creatures. They're rationalizing creatures.

If they haven't spent much time with it, it's because it doesn't look, feel, and play like real basketball.

I mean we can easily assume that those who like Live are used to the inferior play and stiff animations of the Live series even though other options represent the sport better.

Or it could be that the game feels and plays terrible, and after they realize anyone can hop step cheese with centers, they put the controller down.

When Live is panned by most reviews and those who PURCHASED Live and wanted to like it find it horribly dissapointing, it could be that he problem is not them, but the game.

"They don't like something because they don't understand it" is the laziest and most overused defense of bad movies, games, and entertainment. It's basically an ad homenim attack with zero basis to justify a person's own minority (and often bad) taste. Don't fall into that trap.

The animations are just garbage.

Its hard to defend what was said here. Hopefully the next Live is great. I still have hope

As for the video you posted, Barnes drives by the defender dribbling with his right hand, when the defender is on his right side! In real life, the defender would simply just take the ball.

That right there should be the first thing DNA takes care of...

I've spent the last 10 min trying to get caught up on this thread. IM WEAK WITH LAUGHTER!!!

I do agree with some of the issues at hand on one side but I agree a lot more with the other side. Nonetheless this might be the most entertaining thread in a while.

Will check back when I go to the bathroom stall. I'm sure I'm gonna need a few minutes

So to me, it looks like the live defenders have 3 choices here:

1. Admit that they were wrong about live being the best sim (like that will ever happen.)

2. Ignore this video, and act like it never happened.(most likely scenario.)

3. Find a way to spin it, and show how everything that happened was actually because the youtuber's natural BBIQ kicked in without him even knowing it, and everytime he ran down the court, the BBIQ gods were guiding him, kind of like in "angels in the outfield."(Another likely scenario).
