As the user we can all simulate the way each team plays ourselves but I think EA owes it to us to do their best in attempt to stop the game from being generic as someone else mentioned.

Animations and awkward shots although reluctant I can probably by pass but we have to absolutely have the players and teams doing what they are suppose to do on the floor right?

That is what this SYNERGY is suppose to control and you can't hype that feature again and not have it work IMO.

That is like FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.....I want to get this game so bad especially after WTF's videos but I'm not going to break my neck and rush to get it if teams and players aren't doing what they are suppose to do on the floor.

If there was any game I was ever torn between buying or not buying this years NBA Live might be the 1st.....
To be fair, Synergy wasn't loaded until After last night's games.

I played the Mavs/Spurs tonight with the tendencies loaded from their game yesterday.

What I saw (I was San Antonio):
-Dirk got the ball mainly in the post. I didn't see much 4-high sets from them.
-Dirk scored the majority of his points around the basket. He only took a couple of 3s. I think he finished 9-20 FG for like 22 points.
-There was a lot of Tyson high screens with the PG.
-Parsons shot terribly as he did in real life.
    -Devin Harris shot well.

This was on Superstar. You know them better than I do so you be the judge.

And I don't think Synergy will make CP3 throw lobs. Technically, that's not a tendency. That's player ratings.

Unless the add an alley oop frequency, that's not going to happen.

If anything, they should be running pick & rolls.

Not just him. From videos I was watching yesterday or 2 days ago, it looks like even some guards post up and shoot hooks (even smaller guards). Has this been fixed, or do you guys still see it? Or, have you seen this?

        Re: Individual team player/playing styles

Isn't synergy purely player focused? It seems to not work if post players like Lopez are in the post. Has it worked properly any year it has been available (Live 09, 10, 14 and 15)?

I don't think synergy has anything to do with team styles and with coach playing styles limited to three options only, I don't see how it's possible to have teams playing a certain way. They'll play just based on their personnel (Curry taking threes, etc). Although that still fails when talking about non-post players so who knows. Defensively there seems to be options to have teams play to a certain style though.

I'm enjoying the game but it's a bit of a game killer having generic team styles.

              Re: Individual team player/playing styles

To answer Donkey question no it hasn't worked IMO the way it was intended to work in previous versions of NBA Live.

This is straight from EA on how Synergy is suppose to work this year for us:

Stay Connected With Synergy Sports in NBA LIVE 2015
NBA LIVE 19 redefines the way you play a basketball game. 1v1 Everywhere featuring Real Player Motion gives you control in every possession, providing you the ability to change momentum in any game and dominate your opponent. Pursue basketball glory

Staying connected is a core philosophy for NBA LIVE 15. It’s not just about playing Online with your friends and rivals, it’s about being in lockstep with what goes on in the NBA – all season long.

Through our exclusive partnership with Synergy Sports Technology, we are able to seamlessly receive real-time data that allows us to make adjustments to Tendencies, Stats and Behaviors. This ensures that what is seen in-game is an accurate representation of how these players act in real life.*

*Internet connection required to receive updates

Here's how it all works. Synergy Sports is a sports technology company that provides near real-time analytics and data to all 30 NBA teams. Here’s a quick look at some of the info and functionality they provide:

•Ability to look up team and players when executing play types like post-ups, pick and rolls, isolations, off screens, spot-ups, transitions and more
•Sort video for shot attempts: Catch and shoots, jump shot off the dribble, and drives to the basket
•Watch video of traditional stats: Shots, assists, rebounds, steals turnovers, etc.
•Useful charts demonstrate jump shot range and player’s drive and post-up tendencies
•Interactive shot charts let you find shots for any part of the game, or sort shots by play type, bench vs. starters, individual players and much more
•View and sort video by man-to-man or zone, end or side out-of-bound plays, after time-out plays, time the team pushes the ball in transition
•Graphic tools compare players head-to-head, using regular stats or play type stats
•Unique graphics and charts make Synergy’s advanced statistics come alive
•Leaderboards let you assess any player in hundreds of categories, and compare them to the rest of the players in their league

NBA teams use this data to build scouting reports, coach players and much more. This data is available at an extraordinarily granular level for all games after their completion.

So how does Synergy Sports Technology work with NBA LIVE? Synergy Sports provides us a direct feed of player scouting DNA and Tendencies. We are then able to take this data and apply it to our game – which dynamically affects player tendencies in-game, as well as modes such as LIVE Seasons and Tonight’s Games.

This information also tells us things that don’t appear in the box score, such as shots off the dribble or if a player was being guarded - which all influence ratings. One of the goals we have for the future of NBA LIVE is to remove subjectivity from player ratings and performance – a true 1:1 representation of each and every player in the league.

So let’s take Kevin Love, for example. In his new home in Cleveland – playing alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving – how he plays will be much different than when he was in Minnesota.

As a result, his tendencies will change as he settles in. With Synergy Sports Technology integration, you will see those adjustments in real time.

This means that when you go to play against the Cavs – you will notice a different play style from Kevin that you will have to account for as the season progresses.

Synergy Sports Technology also drives our BIG Moments and NBA Rewind features. Once a game is finished in real life, we are able to take Synergy Sports data and instantly create LIVE Season challenges based on the stats and highlight plays from that game.

BIG Moments are key plays or stretches of the game such as a player having a huge quarter or a thrilling game winning buzzer beater. You then can play through these quick scenarios with the exact stats, tendencies, and line-ups on a per minute basis.

The key to providing this experience is the fast data delivery from Synergy Sports Technology – so after Damian hits that clutch buzzer-beating shot, you’ll be able to jump on NBA LIVE 15 and see if you can do it yourself.

So as you can see, Synergy Sports Technology is a driving force behind what keeps NBA LIVE 15 connected to the real NBA.

Our server stability ensures that your game will be seamlessly updated – with adjustments being made to player ratings, tendencies and behavior. We are truly #LIVEallSeason long.

See what else Synergy Sports Technology can do when NBA LIVE 15 hits stores on October 28th.

There's more obviously but you see this right here and wonder, how does Tyson Chandler and Robin Lopez work in the post if this data comes directly from synergy...

I agree with 24th. I wish they would just remove synergy and got back to a traditional system that guys can edit. I don't need my game updated on the fly to change Kevin Love from not taking any pick and pops because last nights game he did not happen to take any.

                        Re: Individual team player/playing styles

I would say the following so far in the 1st half of this cpu vs cpu Clippers vs Mavs game:

                        1. CPU can't execute the pick n roll properly. I see it called, but the AI ball handler ignores it most of the time.

                        2. Too many damn hook shots in the post.

                        3. Too much isolation, 1 pass and shoot from the Clippers.

                        4. Too many AND 1s.

                        5. Too much 1 on 1 going on. Not enough plays being ran. They isolate for like half the play clock mindlessly dribbling, then either dump it in the post and try a wild hook shot or they pass it to the 3pt line and jack up a 3.

But I will say the Mavs are playing better tonight then they did last night when I played them. I don't know if because of synergy or what. Yesterday Dirk barely got the ball, tonight, he is a much bigger focus of their offense.

                          Re: Individual team player/playing styles

Well I stopped watching after the 1st half.....

Any Mavs fans would agree that is not their style of play but I don't want to focus on Dallas because during the actual game I would be controlling the Mavs and making them play accordingly myself anyway.

Therefor I focused on the Clippers and I'll be honest with out sugar coating anything the game right now just seems to generic as someone else mentioned.

Every big plays the same way in the post sky hook shots that don't exist in the NBA anymore.

D.Jordan for god sake doesn't have any damn post moves yet he knocked down 4 hook shots in the 1st half alone....

That animation has to be removed from the game EA.

Blake and Spencer Hawes both looked the same way in the paint there was no force or power game by Blake inside he also used that whacked out hook shot...

Very limited movement by JJ Reddick and if not mistaken he had more assist than Chris Paul in that half because Paul just doesn't look right on the floor.....not a single lob attempt and from reading the Player ratings and what they control based on EA's feedbacks certain players have both dribble and pass packages assigned to them based on their ratings.

I specifically asked this question during the ratings breakdown if players with 90+ ratings in certain category would be able to do certain things on the floor like throw lobs or pull off dribble moves and yet CP3 looked exactly the same as Jameer Nelson looked functioning on the floor.

There is no IDENTITY at all amongst the players right now and that may be do to SYNERGY not reflected but then again why isn't SYNERGY installed with the game out of the box based on last years player tendencies?

I hate to be the guy who speaks out because I don't even have the game but from all the videos I've seen now the game just still plays too generic to me.

I want a NBA game that allows teams and players to perform based on their actual tendencies I'm not asking for perfect animations and great looking shots.....I get it the game is still awkward in those areas but why is the player tendencies and team style of play still lagging behind even on Next Gen consoles?

Another thing I don't like is there are certain players although they play certain positions they don't defend the guy at the same position...

For example Tyson Chandler I can assure you will be defending Blake Griffith any time Dallas plays the Clippers....Dirk will never defend the oppositions best front line scorer.

In fact the Mavs will often hide Dirk on the least skilled big man....

Maybe I'm just expecting too much too soon right now out of this game and maybe they (EA) have fixed issues with their patch or they plan on fixing issues with future patches but I just don't see the upside of gameplay anymore unless you have USER vs USER games to control the players and make them behave accordingly.

The article clearly states SYNERGY is going to control both player and team tendencies and I'm just not witnessing it at the current state.

It's basically ISO from what I watched....

The 2006 Mavs were a ISO team under Avery Johnson but that system went away the minute Carlisle showed up in Dallas.

Coaching tendencies should already be in the game....synergy should be in the game based on last years team tendencies if not anything else.

They have to get this stuff right for once....why do have to keep waiting on player tendencies to be a factor?

If you want to tell us to hold off on modes, sliders, customization, animations and ect that is fine but why are we still waiting on players and teams to play accordingly?

My enthusiasm for the game was sort of sky high a few days ago but now I'm back to square one because this game looks like NCAA Basketball 09 or 10 which ever one was the last one created in terms of every guy doing or attempting to the same thing and post moves are awful because there seems to be no more than 2 moves a BIG will attempt just like NCAA B-Ball game.

Somebody from EA has got have a passion for NBA B-Ball and say hey some of this stuff isn't working again.

Yeah, this game needs a 5GB SOUL INJECTION patch. Game is pretty looking, there are some good things a USER can do, but the CPU is SOUL-LESS. CPU AI definitely aren't using all the moves available in the game. CPU isn't adjusting offensively or defensively.

Currently watching Knicks vs Bulls CPU vs CPU game.

What kills the immersion for me:

                              1. All those damn hook shots.

                              2. All those damn AND 1s.

                              4. Teams and players aren't playing like their real life counter parts. Too much ISO and mindless dribbling with the rest of the team just standing flat footed.

                              5. CPU not calling plays and just running ISO all game long with a few failed pick n roll attempts sprinkled in.

                              6. Too many last second bail out shots hitting all net.

                              7. Lack of offensive rebounds.

                              8. Not enough mid range shot attempts.
