Crazy Dunks

After watching the crazy handstand/cartwheel 1080 dunks at the dunk contest in one of the vids,

I was wondering what some of you think of this arcade approach to the dunk contest. Personaly this ruins the entire experience for me. I fail to see why a simulation game such as Live, felt the need to bring NBA Jam qualities to the table for the dunk contest.

I understand these things dont happen during the real games, and that they are only part of the all-start weekend, but at the dunk contest you in real life you dont see people slamming home 720's. That just takes all the realism and fun out of it.

If i wanted to throw it down while twirling like a figure skater i could play NBA ballers or NBA street.

I just am very very dissapointed that EA has chosen to take such an arcadish approach to a long wanted game mode.

The dunk contest is for casual fans. It will sell ea a ton of games. Do you know how much kids are gonna like this. You dont have to do the over the top dunks if you dont want. They wanted it to be fun. They could have made it like college hoops dunk contest but that was to mechanical and not fun imo.

Talk about a mode that would get boring quickly. Just sit back and let the rest of us enjoy our fun with this new mini-game.
