Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
One thing you guys can do to determine if the cpu will take more mid range shots when driving lanes are restricted is to watch cpu vs cpu games. Again, it still needs further work but you should see more of these shot attempts since the cpu is more adept at playing defense.Comment

Am I the only on who randomly experiences that my game downloads past updates, even tho I have downloaded when it was released.

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
To clarify, there have been some instances where I've seen the A.I utilize the mid range game.
Some shots off picks, pull ups in transition, even saw them execute a pick and pop once. In my experience though, this stuff is few and far between. I don't really look at me stopping a constant drive from the A.I and them having to pull up for a J when the shot clock is winding down as them utilizing the mid range game....more so looking at quality then quantity.
I think Live 14 actually did a good job with this and thought they would expand upon it this year, but it looks like they have actually regressed in this area. I used to love playing the Knicks seeing Melo face up and pull up for jumpers...The A.I would perform step backs and size up's too.Comment

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
Interesting. I didn't play Live 14 so this is news to me. I can certainly understand the frustration if they regressed in this regard. I am also saying that the mid range game should occur with more regularity and variety and in a fashion the cpu can truly capitalize on. As it stands the cpu misses way too many of these attempts and it appears to discourage further attempts. This shouldn't be the case. So, this is where quality is important as you've stated. I actually watched a cpu vs cpu game last night, Spurs vs Cavs. Noticed that LeBron utilized the step back mid range shot twice during the game. However, I could also tell right away that the shot was not going in! If these types of shots were implemented better last year you would expect them to expand on that foundation.
I could be wrong here, but I tend to think the cpu will try to exploit a weakness in the defense, particularly driving lanes. If you shut this down, it seems to sometimes force the cpu to use other methods of scoring, including the pick and pop on subsequent plays, although infrequently. Anyhow, we all agree that this area needs further work and these shots should occur more spontaneously!Comment

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
I have noticed that ball movement is ALOT better when the cpu is using the full roster as opposed to Rosters affected by injury etc. For example, the Rockets and Thunder, without certain players or stars in the lineup don't move the ball as well. I'm guessing these tendencies are controlled by Synergy. I'm testing and interested to see if there are more plays executed with the full rosters.Last edited by Calvenn; 02-07-2015, 02:02 AM.Comment

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
I just played a game this morning, Suns at Bulls. The rosters didn't reflect the trade line deals.I have to say the more I play the game, I do enjoy it more.I just wanted to say it almost seems the game does play different after each roster update. Some times I couldn't play more then 1 qtr. Lately, I've been able to play whole games.PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)Comment

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
EA does seem to make slight adjustments with its updates, when I first got the game you couldn't shoot 3's but now I can hit guarded or contested 3's with ok shooters which I couldn't do before.
It would be nice if they gave us slider and roster control ourselves so we were not at there mercy.Comment

Re: Did they adjust gameplay again with latest update?
For all those who like to claim how easy the game is, try playing ultimate team where sliders are not available, and where your ability to win games actually affects EA's bottom line, then say it's too easy. This update if anything made it even more bull****. My team is all 90 rated players with excellent 3 point shooting skills, and yet in the first two games I played since the update I went 4-18 and 6-23 from 3 point range, and if the CPU AI wasn't bull**** enough, they seem to find some magic beeline through my completely uninterested defenders to the basket 9 times out of ten, while any time I am even lucky enough to get some penetration towards the basket I get called for a ****ing charge every damn time, even when the idiot that takes the charge is standing directly underneath the basket. And finally, while 3 7 footers of mine can all crash the boards hard and come away with nothing, I am so sick and ****ing tired of the CPU AI getting three offfensive rebounds each time they miss, and doing it with a 6 foot point guard.Comment
