This is what drives me insane. It's unstoppable, no matter what you do. It needs to be fixed asap.

That and the fact that you cannot shoot 2 point jumpers....its either 3's or layups/dunks....I'm lucky if one shot from just outside the paint falls all game...no matter if wide open with great release or not...makes no sense at all.

This game has a lot of potential and I really enjoy playing it at times...but then with these issues it makes me hate it.

Quite honestly, this is an EA-wide issue.
All of their sports games have the exact same problems:
- every player plays the same regardless of attributes.
- every team you face, plays the same.
- CPU goes into 'berserker mode' at the end of a close game and there's nothing you can do about it.
- weak CPU teammate AI.
- handcuff the user so the game is more 'competitive'

It's almost as if EA has told all teams to not waste any time on smart AI.
Just give the CPU boosts, dumb down the user's abilities and voila! Close games.

EA puts all of it's eggs into graphics, presentation, online modes and licenses (ie Nike, ESPN, stadiums, etc).

AI has never been a high priority for any of their sports games.

My thought is because they seem to focus only on human vs human play/online they never bother seeing if the cpu AI is functioning correctly.

If I play you and all of both our cpu teammates stink, we might think the game is fair. Ignoring the fact that we have to control every player to drive the gameplay correctly.

I just cant see how they ever test these games vs cpu and not see all the wonky things we all see in all of their titles.

It is absolutely refreshing in any other devs sports games when a cpu teammate helps you or does something a great athlete should be doing all on thier own without your input. Makes it feel like teamwork and not herding cats.

I finally found out why my game was messing up, I actually had my Xbox One display settings on TV rather than the PC settings, all that lag and unresponsiveness I was complaining about is gone, and I'm having a lot of fun with the game again. Also the game look 100x better on PC settings.

If you haven't done it yet, give it a try, you'll see what I'm talking about

Funny that you mention this. I also made a similar adjustment recently, only difference is the change was applied to my Samsung TV. I switched to "Game Mode" as opposed to standard or other settings and this reduced the lag to a certain degree. Apparently "Game Mode" removes certain TV graphic enhancements that bog down the game.

I have a PS4 and in my case I couldn't find any "PC type settings. I will check again, but for now using a fan to keep the system cool appears to be the other thing needed to keep mine running smoothly. Happy to hear you found a solution and enjoying the game as intended. It is truly a joy to play when it's running optimally!

Way better than what it was at launch, but overall it's a fun game to pick up and play. And it's only $20 lol

Yeah the game settings on my Sony tv is default on my xbox one, so I knew it wasn't the problem. When I watch movies on my system I have to change it back sometimes because dark scenes are too dark. I'm glad I figured it out too, I was hating the game during that time

Paid 19.80 to get this for the XBOX and paid 19.55 too much. This game was decent before all of the nonsense with patches. Now it's just lay-up, points in the paint, and minimal fouls.

I played this game for 45 minutes and was able to see the disaster that it has become since I played the preview. Yeah it's never been as deep as the other game but it was still a lot of fun and at a minimum believable. How anyone associated with this can call this basketball should consider maybe a career with the NBA Jam team....or something.

What happened with this title??

I agree!! The points in the paint is just ridiculous. I have success stopping the cpu must times. But to know 95% of the time they will attempt a layup is just frustrating. No scoring variety from the cpu at all....

Yeah, I threw in the towel quick on this game. You can't hit a jump shot unless the CPU blows coverage and leaves you wide open. Even if they don't contest a shot and are just standing a few feet away you will miss 99% of the time. Then you go to the post and everything seemingly goes in.

The game clearly changed and imo, not for the better.
