There's a better flow overall. Nice movement and it's fun playing the CPU now. Before the gameplay patch I really only enjoyed it playing a friend. Now CPU seems to be catching on.

I didn't see Jefferson yet but Khan is a definite yes. Hope to see Thompson soon!!

I highly agree with this. The way this game plays and moves, feels very authentic and organic. I'm so spoiled by this that....I'm having a hard time playing the other game right now unfortunately since I shelled out the money. I'm sure I'll find time for that game but others need to see what we are experiencing here. I'm trying not to exaggerate but they've rebounded very well with this game. I expect even more improvements as time passes. The one thing I'm struggling with is the fluctuations with the game speed. For some strange reason my game speed can go from a 5 to and 10 from one day or moment to the next. Very frustrating! Trying to identify the source of this and have reduced all major TV and Ps4 settings to improve performance. If it's Synergy that's doing this then we may have big problems.

They also need to add more variety in the interior on offense and allow better control of fade away shots from the post. Tragically underrated game!

Btw, hope Tristan and his agent Mr. Paul will end this holdout soon! We don't need any distractions going into a big season?

I had to check the game to make sure it was still on Superstar, lol

This is probably the best game I've seen as far as inside contact....don't know if there has been a change or what....

With that, it's made the bad AI stick out even more. There have been so many braindead drives to the rim and now at half time with the score 46-12 James Harden hasn't taken a shot yet...not a single shot...

Just feel like it's always a step back man.....

Synergy must be doing something to the game. Mine is moving at a very slow pace all of a sudden starting today. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing yet. This must be monitored closely. Definately among the questions the devs can help us elucidate.

Has anyone tried playing the game without signing into the EA servers? I know it made some difference with live 15.

My game will automatically log out the server if I leave it idle for a while or during gameplay. I havent really noticed a difference and specifically checked this because of our experiences with the server last year. I will check again though for gameplay differences which I didn't look for since I was focused on gameplay speed.

Also, has anyone noticed that the cpu on both sides has become more adept at jumping passing lanes and positioning to intercept passes? This may be a byproduct of the beefed up defense. The contention in the paint is very evident and more aggressive. Seen several player mid air adjustments and contortions due to these hard contests. Also, the cpu is closing out quickly and challenging shots all over. In fact, I had to ease up on my slider adjustments and am almost back to default settings. My field goal percentage has also dropped drastically and I have now moved back to default inside/mid/outside shooting whereas before on All Star setting I had the sliders adjusted to 30/40/30 respectively. There's some tinkering going on the devs part for sure!

                  Re: After playing Live again

This is beginning to remind me of Live 15. When that game was released, it was free flowing but lacked defensive intensity. Well, the game was patched and updated via Synergy and at some point, we lost the enjoyable fluidity of the game due to the newly tweaked defense. I also noticed that the game was slowed down as a result. Today, I sit here looking at Live16 the same way as I did back then. There's good and bad to these changes. On one hand, we all want to see a ratchet up at the defensive side of the ball and for the game to be more Sim oriented. However, I don't want to lose the free flowing and dynamic feeling game that has created so much excitement. My plea to the devs. We appreciate your efforts and tremendous progress you continue to make with this game daily. Please be mindful of the changes you make and the impact they have on the overall smoothness and dynamism of the game! As it stands, and due to the slower pace of the game at this juncture, I'm now seeing more robotic movements than ever before! We certainly don't want to lose that appeal.

The ideal solution off course would be to somehow find a good blend where the gameplay is still smooth and free flowing with a good mix of defensive intensity. I know it's a challenge and can take some time to strike this balance. They came very close last year after making several changes and I expect the same again this year. I only hope they have learned from that experience and can expedite the process this go round. WTF, MrPrice33, please offer your input and pass this information along when feasible.

                  Thanks for listening.

                    Re: After playing Live again

Btw, everyone feel free to chime in if my experience is different from yours. It could also be caused by my setup ( though i have made sure to reduce or turn off any features in both my TV and PS4 that might affect performance) but the evident change in defensive intensity, etc, makes me question this, unless it's a coincidence. Control responsiveness is also negatively affected as is and I am seeing more players warping on the court. The "force field effect" with the improved defense is now more pronounced and is a bit of a hindrance to the fluidity of the gameplay which is now somewhat jerky and sticky/rubbery.. The "smoother movements" was something I really appreciated about the game this year so I hope they can bring it back while maintaining the improved defense!

Currently I have adjusted my contact sliders below default 50 setting to even begin to see some fluidity. I would prefer to not have to deviate from the default settings as much.

Ok. It appears I may have found slider settings that work quite well with the game right now. I had to drastically reduce collision settings to achieve this but the results are very solid.

Game is still stiff in movements however.

What do you know? I just played 2 back to back games and the game is flowing well again. Only this time the defense is intact! Both games were very close and fg% were in the high 40's to low 50's. Seeing some fantastic pass interceptions and much better defensive positioning allowing for better tracking of cpu offense. Definately much more realistic in how shots are altered. Also noticed more mid range shots. In my game against the Lakers they shot 7 mid range shots, 5 min qtrs no accelerated clock. I'm getting awfully close to achieving a good set of sliders for Dynasty play ( fingers X'd that Synergy does not disrupt my slider flow ) Still some head scratching actions by the cpu here and there but man, I really wish THIS was the game that was reviewed by many and experienced during the initial demo release. This is one organic flowing/feeling game of basketball! Please continue with the solid efforts Live 16 team!

Can you please post your sliders? I see virtually no mid range game at all.

Would really appreciate your sliders if you are getting results.

Walt, I will post them later when I have some time no problem.I tried to stay to as close to default as possible on All-Star. Had to make some reverse changes to the collision sliders when the devs tweaked defensive intensity recently. I can't promise every game will reveal excellent mid range shooting but I will say that the newly tweaked defense that allows for better defensive positioning is definitely part of the equation in regards to revealing the mid range game for the cpu. This prevents the cpu from freely driving to the hoop foring them to back out and find another strategy which usually includes more mid range options. The sliders have not been finalized but I'm close.

                              Re: After playing Live again

Just curious. How many mid range shots are you averaging in your games at present and how long are your qtrs? Does it differ from team to team (it should to a certain degree depending on personnel). I personally classify mid range shots as any shot outside the paint. Any shot slightly off the border of the paint (toward the outside of the paint) is also a mid range shot. The game for me has swung in the opposite direction again in regards to game flow. To give you an idea of exactly how drastic the change has been, I have adjusted all my collision sliders from 30 a few days ago back to 60/70 today. I am really not sure what is happening to be honest. I am only asking for consistency with these changes. I am really enjoying the game as is and hope.it doesn't deviate much from present state as they continue to make adjustments (assuming) unless there is something off on my end (Ps4 issues, etc which is also possible).

Some other miscellaneous observations. The game no longer uses the intro avatars and now uses the player photos. They seem to have added some new animations (unless I didnt see them before which is entirely possible), mainly around the basket layups. Saw a jaw dropping move by Tyrese Evans today! This game does have some fantastic animations that should be highlighted!

So far, I've been playing on the default sliders and have to say since the 1.2 patch on ps4, I've been very pleased with the game.

I was going to purchase 2k16 this year as well, but with how Live turned out, I'll be passing on 2k this year.
