Really easy to sort them by overall, 3 point, inside / outside, speed etc.

Which makes editing pretty easy. Just mark out what needs to be changed and go and do it once you get the game.

I know what I'll be doing at work for the next few days
can you send me that excel file please??
im way to lazy to do it myself.

Re: Player Ratings from Ign (09/24/04)

If the game was made up of fictious players it would be easy. We would tweek a few sliders then be good to go. HOWEVA, the game contains the real players of the NBA, most of these players' every shake, bake, and fake is permanently burned in the brain of a lot of us diehard hoops fans.

Therefore, if the game engine allows it, to get a "good" or "great" sim of the NBA, one really has to redo the ratings of all 360 plus players. For a lot of you that is not acceptable for a myriad of reasons. For me its an easy choice to do so, its a labor of love.

I've only glanced at the ratings pages, but from all the post I've read here and elsewhere it would seem as if there are a lot of "mistakes". I honestly expect the ratings to be way off every year. Even on the consoles TWO generations from now I expect the ratings to be way off. Its just not a high priority for the developers. If you're determined to play the game out of the box as is, then I hope your expectations are tempered.

Hell, if HG at IGN is clowning peeps about the ratings then you know there must be some issues.

You might not think its fair or right, but gettting a good sim requires a lot of comsumer "blood, sweat, and tears"

              Expectations are a B****

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

                  Yea, thats crazy.

Slightly less crazy is that they gave Larry Bird a 90 dribble rating. Same as Steve Nash.

And ok, so Jordan is gone from the 90's all-star team. They left Karl Malone but they took out John Stockton? Theres only 10 players on the team! Backup PG is Spud Webb, 63 overall? Tom Chambers was the best they could come up with? Wheres David Robinson? Thats a pretty weak 90's team.

OMG, 90's all star team, Reggie Miller, 91 DUNK RATING! Where did that come from? Hes not a dunk contest guy!

Well, Stockton is probably not in the game because he's in that same limbo phase that Jordan is in, where's out of the league for a season but not yet part of the retired players thinger.

I'm assuming that's why Hakeem is not on the team, or the Admiral, or perhaps Ewing. Prince Chahlz should be on there too. Definitely would have replaced Chambers with Barkley if that were possibile -- Chambers was seriously hitting the downside of his career in the 90s.

Perhaps KJ would have been a better choice than Spudd?

I dunno, that 90s team is seriously spotty without some of those guys mentioned above.

                              Live 2004 90's all-star team:

                              Shaq
                              Malone
                              Pippen
                              Jordan
                              Stockton
                              Payton
                              G. Hill
                              D. Robinson
                              Reggie
                              Kemp
                              Richmond
                              Penny

I understood why they put in Spud Webb, hyping the dunk contest. Any reason they took out Stockton, D. Robinson, Kemp, and Richmond though? And who thought to add Tom Chambers?

Figures they take out Shawn Kemp, my favorite of all time, the same year they put in the dunk contest. That is just annoying.
