I have both games, and I havent touched EPSN in a few days. The Associaton just cant compete with Dyansty mode.

I havent had the chance to get either yet but I'm leaning towards Live. I don't get the chance to watch enough NBA to worry about 'specific' playsets so that doesn't worry me at all.

From what I've read, Live plays a better game of basketball but I'll still have to wait to try them both out.

            ie *team specific* play sets.

LIVE has never had these. It's always just had generic play books.

LIVE does do the individual stuff well though...Kobe Iso'd etc. Post Iso's are nice also.

Neither game will ever be completely realistic...

LIVE would really imrpove a lot IMO with team specific play books. The plays in the game have been the exact same for years now in the LIVE series.
Ok ESPN has playbooks!?!? So that makes it play like the NBA?

Is this *that* hard to understand...

Example...Peja in ESPN comes off screens, runs baseline to baseline etc etc all game...

As he does in the NBA...

Why? Because the SAC play book is in the game.

In LIVE...he stands there with his hands out, shuffling back and forth like every other two guard in the game, runs the same plays / same routes...exactly the same as all the other two guards.

Why? Because each team has the SAME plays...

The only difference is his primacy rating makes him shoot more...

If you don't understand how play books *replicate* NBA team styles...then there's not much else I can add.

Look at Inside Drive 04 and read the 100's of posts from the fella's who say the exact same thing about that game...

LIVE is a good game, but it's had the same play books now for ten years basically.

10 man mo cap...used to replicate real play books...could be insanely good if they ever did that.

Live does have playbooks, you just have to assign them to the CPU every game. Too bad you can't save your adjustments...

All the star players play like their real life counterparts, so couldn't you say that's realistic? Not all the teams play realistic in ESPN. Shaq rarely gets touches from what I've read. When he does get the ball, he's shooting from 10 feet out and that's not cool.

Everyone has their reasons for why they like or dislike a game, so to each their own.

Hey, cmon now. We havent even seen Shaq play on the Heat yet, from what Ive heard he's gonna be starting at SG because he wants to show Kobe how its done. I credit ESPN videogames for that inside info.
