The really questionable thing is I can not pull off a fadeaway. Maybe this is just me and I havent practiced enough, but I have tried backing down, up faking. Sometimes I get the opposing player in the air and can get it off, but if he doesnt bite its a guarenteed block. IVe tried backing down, drop stepping left or right, up faking and then shooting etc. The drop step appears to do nothing in this scenario except look nice. Its still either I get the opposing player in the air or I dont. If I dont its Lebron blocking me. If I do I can get the shot off, and he leans in to draw the foul sometimes which is nice, but its rarely actually a fadeaway. The only time he fades is when I dont get him in the air and then it is blocked. Do I just suck? Or is this a major flaw with this game?? I find it extremely unrealistic that I cannot pull off Birds patented backdown and fadeaway, but yet I can spin past him with Bird almost every play. In the actual 5 on 5 games I end up spinning all the time because it is the most effective move vs playing like players actually do. Only time I can pull off a fadeaway is when the upfake works. Otherwise its a block.
I can fadeaway if Im facing up. Like i can dribble maybe jab step and find space and fade. That isnt the problem. Its the post up fadeaway that is very unrealistic. Anyhow the spin move is by far the most effective move in this game and there really is no need to do anything but, and crossover every once in awhile. This has pretty much killed this game for me. I dribble up court and spin because its by far the most effective move every time. What fun is that? I play on allstar and have a lot of success doing this. I dont even notice the fast break problems any more because the spin is so effective for all players.
