One note to the OP of this thread:

Larry Bird was given a 90 dribble rating by default. Thats a rating problem and probably one reason why you were able to spin around Lebron so easily.

Not trying to be too nit picky. But in his day, Larry Bird would kill Lebron James. Larry Bird used to dunk on people early in his NBA career. He was super quick and agile. Age took his toll and he learned other ways to score and compete, as all players do (MJ and his fade-a-way, Magic and his post game, Jabbar and his sky hook).

For 13 bucks you really can't go wrong, unless you want your xbox warranty. Anyways here is where I bought mine, back in August. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/xbox_locks_up.htm

Insutrctions, Tutorials, and a plce to buy from them. PM me if you have any other questions.... It took me about 10 minutes to take it apart and put it back together, including reading the tutorial..

Stop making excuses and trying to make this game better than it is. There are still problems and balance issues with this game. Maybe you dont notice them, but I do. You shouldnt need sliders. I am not a beta tester. I just lied. I am a beta tester and EA should be paying me. Adjusting Sliders just causes other balance issues with the game. I play a game and I would like to enjoy it. Ive yet to start a franchise and I will probably never finish a season because Ill find more things wrong with this game. It happens every year. Im better off just sticking to playing other people. Trying to get the cpu to play realistically is a waste in these games. The AI just isnt there yet.
As pessimistic as this sounds, I'm starting to agree. Same problem (even more so in my opinion) with Madden. Now, if people enjoy these games and love them with some slight tweaks, I think that is great. In fact, I'm not even commenting on Live 05 because I haven't played it enough. But over the years, I find myself never finishing seasons (Madden, Live, MLB) because the computer A.I. is just awful. Yeah, slider tweaks can help a lot, but in some cases not nearly enough. For example the DB play in Madden against the computer is just awful. Forgive my venting, but I'm just tired of getting psyched year after year for these games, only to find they don't feel "real" enough at all.

Bird was a good ball-handler. He took a lot of faster players off the dribble.

Bird was unbelievable in his prime. There was a stretch of his career (about 82 to 86?) where he looked unstoppable. Lots of people said he played ugly. Sure, he wasn't a dunker or an above the rim guy, but that made his domination all the more incredible. In his prime, I put him only behind Jordan in terms of best I've ever seen. Not in terms of dominance, because Shaq dominates more (as did Chamberlain, etc.), but in terms of best basketball player, only Jordan was better, in my opinion. In some ways, I think Bird doesn't get enough credit for how good he was. Those Laker teams had MUCH more talent from one to twelve, I think that's overlooked. The Celts had Mchale and Parish and sometimes DJ (that's about it), but Bird carried them for years.
